American Leak Detection

I knew I had a leak. I spent and others spent hours trying to find it. The service that I got from David Lopez at American Leaks in Morgan Hill was excellent. Davic took time to explain everything, found my major leak and two other small leaks I didn’t know about.

OMG… this crew is top notch… I was getting assessed penalties every water bill (higher during draught)…talked it over on the phone & was convinced to move forward… set an appointment…
I was contacted prior to re-​confirm
It was not necessary for me to be present (so I wasn’t)
Got home from work & found the report
Reported leak was flagged in my yard
Dug down 18 inches & found the leaky pipe
Cut & replaced the bad piece & the hole i dug is still filling with water (Ugg!)
Found a 2^nd leak in same place in a pipe right beside the other
Called them again to discuss & brain storm a solution
I fixed it & dry as a bone next few days and filled in the hole + planted flowers
Now with all the rain my pool is full & staying full (used to drop within a couple days)
Just got my water bull (not mis-​spelled) and was SHOCKED!
water usage is cut by 60%
Dang Pool was using more water than the occupants

I had a slow leak in my pool, but thought it might just be evaporation until I realized just how often we were adding water. Both local pool companies I talked to immediately recommended Bill at American Leak in Gilroy (this branch handles pools only). When I called and spoke with Sherrie (?) in the office, she asked me if I had run a bucket test to size the leakage, and was very clear on how to prep for their visit, what they would do, and the costs. It’s not cheap but I knew it was beyond my expertise to trace the leak. Bill came out right on time, and immediately got to work. I was impressed with his thoroughness and obvious experience, but he gladly explained what he was doing and answered all my questions. When he found the leak, he gave me a bid for repair and retesting (not cheap) but also offered a suggestion on how to stop the leak temporarily. I chose to do the workaround myself, which cost me about $ 2 in parts and took 10 minutes. Several weeks later my pool level hasn’t dropped visibly. In summary, competent and easy to work with.

I had them come out and check my swimming pool that was loosing a bunch of water. Bill was on time, super friendly and he found my leak quickly! Two thumbs up.

We booked with the pool division of American leak. They have local companies, so I am not sure we used the SJ office. They charged us to come out and find our leak, and we also hired them to fix it. They were on the site for two days and did the work we contracted them to do.
However, they messed up our billing, and charged the wrong credit card. When their error was pointed out, they did not do the customer service to fix their error, but instead told us to figure it out among ourselves as they wanted to avoid the credit card fees the company would incur to refund us, and recharge the correct card.
This is rather ironic, because before they started the job, they would not start without their filled out paperwork with the authorized credit card on it. They called me everyday until the paperwork was received in the mail.

I booked an appointment with the Pool division of American Leak detection… I got to them through Google, filled out an inquiry on line, and they called the next day to book an appt. Their dispatcher was very knowledgable, and put together the work order… they were busy, so we booked about 8 or 9 days out.
The technician arrived on time, was very courteous, and very thorough. He did find the leak, and it turned out to be an above ground problem, and one that I could solve myself with less than $ 10 in parts.
There was a $ 375 inspection fee, but I felt the process he went through to eliminate other problems, was worth it. Would recommend them.
