Australian Tan

I’m confused as to why some people are saying this is the most expensive tanning place ever… Ive been with Australian tan since 2007… I’ve tried other places but never get any results I always come out with a rash or there’s always something wrong with the dingy beds they’ve got. Literally when I lived in Fremont I had to drive to San Jose/​Campbell and Sunnyvale Australian Tan every time I wanted to tan. The prices are more than fair and their beds are the best of the best. My husband and i just moved to Gilroy and I was so happy when I saw an Australian tan right by my house… I usually put my account on hold during the winter and pay $ 5 a month and when I come back to tan all that money is saved in an account and I can use it towards a lotion! Pretty awesome… never had an issue canceling or putting it on hold, yes it’s snail mail but send it when you’re supposed to and you’re good!

Australian Tan is amazing! They have many beds to choose from for every level of tanner. The location is always very clean and the staff knows how to keep it that way. They stock the very best in lotions, moisturizers and tan extenders and always have some great deal available. I can’t rave enough about the personal; Christina, Ashley, Lauren, Alex and Danielle are excellent, they go far and above expectations in service and friendliness to give the ultimate tanning experience. The owners of Australian Tan really know what they’re doing!

I was very disappointed with the service. Went in to go get some info, having read the reviews I knew more or less what to expect! I did not want a membership because I wanted to get a tan for a function at the end of April which gave me a month and a half to get one! So I told the girl that I wanted to do it for a month and half and I did not want a membership because I did not want my credit card info filed with them. She said I could do the $ 150 for 6 session but still needed my credit card info for the $ 40 cancellation fee! I told her I would be paying cash and why would I have to pay a cancellation fee if I’m not going to sign up for a membership if I’m only doing it for 1.5 months! Made no sense, then I remembered the other reviews of how difficult it was to cancel with them and that some folks still kept getting charges! I just wanted to do a «pay as you go»
I was told these girls get payed extra based on the sign ups they get, so she ended up loosing me and $ 150 all together! Pathetic

I love this place. It’s always clean and the employees are so nice. if you have any questions they always have the answer.

Great place. Very clean, and I found a coupon both on their site and one on Unilocal (the Unilocal one of which I ended up using). Bonus was that the lady at the desk gave me a one week for free card for new clients, which was ideal for a friend. I used the first bed by the front door and it is supposed to be more of a golden color and it certainly is. I didn’t burn at all and after two visits I have a really great tan. Nice to have a place with good bulbs and can get you in and out pretty fast. And nice to have a really nice color tan too!

This is a so-​so salon. I like that it has a lowered ceiling that eliminates the dirt that gets trapped in other salon ceilings.
The girls cackling about other employees and other locations isn’t cute or attractive. Especially when I hear names of people at the other locations I know. The topic of who has a legitimate injury on their foot or not is not their debate to have.
They never know when the DM/​area manager can hear what is said. People come here to tan not to hear others get burned.
At least there wasnt country music, this was some other kind of awful… club music.

Well first of all they wouldn’t accept the Unilocal deal unless I used it on lotions (total Rip off)
Second, I wanted a quick tan so I was looking at the fastest or instant beds. They wanted $ 60 + for one time use.
Third, I looked into spray tans. $ 35 for two tans. It’s a machine not a person so no matter what they say your going to have a streak some where (or at least I have) Iv spray tanned multiple times and still never get it perfect.
It is a very beautiful building, customer service was pretty good although I think they were trying to up sell and charge more then it should ever cost hoping I’d fall for it which I did not!
Oh and for a monthly membership they want a $ 200 cancelation fee.
I will give it another try but want a quick tan (not spray) and to not feel like I’m being pulled into the biggest rip off ever.

I love Australian Tan! The ladies are beyond welcoming, I am always greeted and left with a smile. The prices are fair and the beds are always clean and work wonders on my skin. All questions Ive asked were handled with great knowledge of the products and services. No disappointment here.

I have been going here for 3 months and I love it!!! The people are so nice and are always very helpful!!! They are very honest and not just trying to get your money! It is always very clean and very professional! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone and will definitely continue doing business here! 2 thumbs up!

Great Salon, they keep up on the Tanning Bed bulbs so I always get the best possible Tan.

I have been going here since 2007 and over the years of course employees change but I still get great service. They know me before I walk in the door and have me set up in a bed or try to give me options if the beds I use are already in use. Always very clean and professional.

Just moved to Gilroy and needed a tanning bed to go to. I go about once a week during the winter to keep up with it, then rarely in the summertime.
The beds are good. Its a clean, nice place. Professional staff, attractive girls. No complaints there.
The prices, WOW. All I can say is this is BY FAR the most expensive tanning salon I have ever gone to. The packages are ridiculous. There are membership fees. They require a credit card on file which is auto-​deducted. You have to send a letter in the mail to cancel a membership, which if anyone has ever had a gym membership knows, creates a very easy way for them to lead you on and on and refuse to cancel your membership. They make you buy your own protective goggles for hell’s sake. Every tanning bed I have been to provides these for free.
This area really needs a better option for tanning, or some competition to lower these prices. Everything considered, I think 2 stars is too generous. So I had to go with 1 star. I won’t be going here and I wouldn’t consider recommending it without a significant price reduction. Won’t be surprised to see this company out of business.
