Been here a couple times when in Gilroy, but prefer the Morgan hill one. This place has more crowded parking and there’s a key request for the bathroom that can be bothersome. Food quality similar, but sauces not as consistent. Not bad for a quick bite and you know what to expect, but nothing crazy amazing. You pay for great value for food that fills you up and is made quickly.

My mom loves their vegetarian super burrito. I love everything here!!! Especially because they have an open salsa bar. Service is friendly, fast food style. Order at the front, food is called out within 5 minutes. Consistently good, fresh ingredients for a better than bay area price. Yum!

I was super unimpressed with the burritos. I got a carne asada burrito and the meat was full of tendons. Good thing I was with my friends of 14 years who know me too well to judge me, but I had to unattractively spit out so many tendons into my napkin. Moreover the rice was overcooked and mushy and the burrito was not tossed on a grill briefly before serving so the tortilla was really soft. The only good thing about this burrito is that it was large yet only cost $ 5.04. My vegetarian friend(yeah, poor soul) had a bean and cheese burrito($ 4.09) and was equally underwhelmed. However, my super carnivorous friend ordered 3 tacos(chicken, pork, and I think shrimp) and they were stuffed, generously topped with avocado, and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Bottom line? Go with the tacos and avoid the carne asada.

When you need a big ass burrito to-go for like 6 bucks, this is your place. You don’ t go here for the ambiance. You go in, order your food, load up on hot sauce, get your order and go. There are some tables if you need to sit down, but this is more of a take out/fast food mexican joint. The portions are big and the dishes are authentic. It is what it is.

Food is really good! Habla espanole, por simpre. Great sauces, fresh green peppers and limes everyday. Pretty inexpensive for what you get. Very fast as well! After 930 or so your food is packed to go.

Their«Regular Giant Burrito» at $ 4.59 is a great deal, large and delicious. I love their asada and they have various meats also. Their soft tacos at $ 1.99 are huge and 2 make a good sized meal for me. They are generous with their meat and also add beans to their tacos(which I usually don’t have). The place is very clean and service is fast.

Sucky food, service and overall experience. The food was cold. The meat or carne asada was flavorless with tons of gristle and fat. I ordered sour cream on my burrito what little there was was only on less than half of the burrito. My wife ordered«super nachos» more like sucky nachos. Cold meat a little sour cream and guac four shreds of cheddar cheese she returned them for a burrito to match mine. There were flys buzzing around the whole time I was eating. The bathroom didn’t work. The list goes on and on. Bottom line don’t eat here.

Smallest one I’ve been to, inside a mini mall. Blink and you’ll miss it. It’s got that weird«clean but dirty» thing going on. As in things seem to have been wiped down, but not thoroughly or deep-cleaned in a while. And if it’s detectable from the dining area, it makes me wonder about what’s going on behind the scenes. For starters, the soda area smelled like old wet towels: stale and dank. Yuck. I don’t want to sound like a snob but I had to go to the bathroom and I wouldn’t use the women’s, because I could see how dirty and tagged up it was from the dining room. So I just held it throughout the entire meal and used hand sanitizer on my hands. Fun times. The dining area was being mopped by a mop that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned/refreshed/replaced(ditto for the water/cleaning solution) since Reagan was El Presidente. The area behind the sneeze-pruf glass seemed decent enough, and the employees were clean and pretty much on it. But there was an air of dissatisfaction that bordered on impassivity. I chalk it up to the surroundings. I don’t think I’d be too happy if I had to report to this place either, so I’m not deducting any stars for it. I really don’t like leaving reviews like this. Especially for Super Taq, of which I’ve been to numerous locations and happen to love. But the dining area really needs to be cleaned up. I mean, it doesn’t have to be expensive, just put some awesome tropical plants in there, really get the floors and the booths cleaned by a professional, paint the walls a vibrant color, get some music going and put some Chicano Pride on the walls! This place doesn’t have a lot of windows and it needs some life in there! Oh and the bathrooms need to be COMPLETELY power washed out. I could tell from a distance and didn’t even have the guts to check it out up close. But it needs it. Badly! Tis unfortunate, because they have the most marvelous hand-painted mural that nearly stretches the entire back wall by the same artiste that does the artwork in their other restaurants. It’s a timeline of sorts of Mexico’s history and like all of the other murals, I absolutely loved it. The sit-down area doesn’t do it justice. The characters that came in(btw, we’re as white as can be and I know we stood out there) were cool to people-watch. But that was about it. It’s not a really good spot to hang out. As in, just eat your burrito and get the hell out of there. And be glad that you have that choice. Cash only, which is typical of these places. The burritos we had were standard for the restaurant. Don’t go out of your way to eat at this place.

This was my go to place for a meal after school. This place is in the corner of a ghetto plaza but the food is delicious. My usual is the super quesadilla that comes in a flour tortilla. The steak and cheese melt so perfectly together and it is way better than on a tiny corn tortilla. You gotta make sure you pack lots of salsa and napkins to go! I am surprised that this is the only Mexican place that I went to in Gilroy other than Taco Bell. There has to be other legit places around there but this place was good enough! **TIPS** 1) Pack a bunch of salsa with whatever you get. There is a little salsa bar. 2) Enjoy!

I HONESTTOGODDONTUNDERSTANDWHYTHISPLACEISSTILLOPEN! Three blocks down on 10th, theres a new super taqueria that opened up and is much cleaner, the food tastes just as good if not better, and itts also in a better area… less hobos… Long Story short, Go to the other one down the street.

I should have read the review of this place better before stopping by. I was looking for a sit down/service restaurant on the way home from Monterey Sea otter 2013. We stopped here because of the good reviews. It’s basically a fast food mexican food place. You can get burrito’s or tacos, or some other randomness. I got the carnita’s super burrito. The good: the salsa’s that they had were pretty decent. The burrito had a good taste. The bad: The meat should’ve been pulled apart a bit more. I basically tasted mostly pork(which is good if I was wanting that taste). There was limited taste of the sour cream or avocado. I thought having plain avocado over guacamole was interesting. The cheese was a strip that was melted onto the tortilla. That was a cool idea. Overall the place was decent. Not the best burrito I’ve ever had by far, but not the worst either.

Honestly I stopped eating here after I got a large piece of cellophane in my quesadilla, I mean it was a large piece. I’m not even sure how that happens but I haven’t been back since

It kills me to write this but I have to. I’ve been a huge fan of Super Tac for a loooong time. My friends and I used to cut gym class and run over to the one in Morgan Hill in high school, taking on thousands of calories of delicious burrito goodness when we should have been running laps. It’s a miracle I’m not morbidly obese come to think of it… Anyway my check in tip was: «Spoke too soon… Stay away from the carnitas today. I’m usually a fan but I just got a mostly gristle burrito. I’m pretty sure some of that was actually cartridge or bone. I normally love this place but we might be on a break for a while!» The burrito was terrible. I don’t think I’ve ever stopped eating any burrito, let alone a Super Tac burrito half way through. The carnitas tasted like it had been boiled, with almost no flavor. And it was tough — like chewing flesh flavored bubble gum. Then there were the mouthfuls of quivering fat. I got what I hoped at first was charred meat but turned out to be bone in a few bites. It took me five napkins to spit the d**m thing out before I was done. I also ordered my Super Burrito with sour cream and it was all in one pocket down the side, so I got a few huge bites of nothing but tortilla and sour cream and then it was gone. My wife’s was just as bad and she didn’t finish hers either. I’ve always forgiven the unique way this Gilroy location manages to constantly maintain a coat of stickiness on everything and simultaneously smell like strong cleaning chemicals because the food stood up. And how stupid it is that they’re cash only. Yes really, in 2013. But I don’t think I’ll be visiting this one again, at least not for a while. Pepper Plant Sauce = NO

For a taqueria, you can’t get much better than this. The steak is cut into nice big, flat pieces, and the cheese is melted into the tortilla. And avacados on the tacos? YUM!!! I make it a point to stop here every time I am down this way. It is my favorite taqueria around! The downside? It is cash only. BOO! :(

I’m a big fan of Super T. I’ve never had their flautas(those never appeal to me anywhere) but everything else is pretty incredible. I was a bit skeptical when first told about this place(6 years ago) but now I’m hooked. Best place to get great quality tacos & burritos when on the go or in a rush(we love sneaking it into theaters too!) We always get Super T when we baby sit — kids love it! Definitely recommend if you’ve never been here. Their Gilroy location on 10th St is my personal favorite location(I’ve been to all of them). It seems sketch but it’s amazing. Don’t forget it’s always cash only!

This place is definitely one of the comfort-food places I always make sure I visit at least once when I come home to see family. The food is good and cheap. The super burritos and tacos are a great deal, and tasty. The new location is nice; so much larger than the old location that was tucked away in that little corner! But dont worry, it still feels like the same super taq we grew up to love. Even the same people selling random cds and cassette tapes are still out front, they came with the move too! Beware though, even though theyre in a brand new building and shopping center and everything is up to date to this decade… theyre still cash only!

It’s just decent. Nothing to rave about. Several times I’ve been there and my order was either messed up or not as I asked for it. The fact that it’s cash only makes things difficult as well. I hardly ever carry cash but wait! they have an ATM inside… oh, it charges you a $ 2.50 service fee. For being in Gilroy I believe there are better Mexican food restaurants and taquerias. Their new location is the best thing about Super Taq.
