Best burgers in Alaska! Everything I’ve tried on the menu has been great. Excellent, fast service. Great selection of beers on tap. A true Alaskan experience.

I had the fish and chips and my friend just got the basic breakfast which came with a generous portion of potatoes, bacon, eggs, and an English muffin. My fish and chips was $ 17 and had a very large portion of really good French fries and 4 medium size pieces of halibut, don’t get me wrong it was really good, but I only was able to eat about half of it. Might be that I just eat like a bird but I would’ve liked there to be an option for less food so it’s not as expensive, oh well. People next to us were really obnoxiously loud but that’s not the grills fault! I guess I wasn’t expecting loud bar atmosphere but that’s definitely what it is, again not a bad thing just not my kind of place.

Went in with three small children. Took over an hour to get food to these kids. They were happy at first but after an hour, the melt downs started. They offered crayons when crackers would have been a better choice. Two parties that arrived after we ordered were served, ate and left. It is really difficult to wait with hungry children and these folks were clueless.

Solid nachos. Good veggie burgers. Kind of well lit for a bar. The place is a genuine dive. But we liked the food.

A hole in the wall. Cool locals spot to grab a good beer. Games out back(horseshoes, cornhole, etc). Had breakfast here this morning. It was pretty good food.

Beer prices that will make you think you died and went to the lower 48! Seriously. $ 4.50 pints?! That’s getting close to my Portland beer prices of old. Also a pretty decent tab list, I must say. No BMC here.(Bud Miller Coors for the non-snobs out there) This is a local Girdwood spot. The folks are friendly, and many of them know each other. That doesn’t mean they aren’t going to be friendly to you though! Service is pretty warm here. I ended up here for breakfast because Jack Sprat was closed for brunch due to construction. Thank science for backup plans! Food is customary diner fair with an Alaska twist(read: reindeer sausage). I got the classic B&E special(bacon and eggs). At night, it’s the quintessential local watering hole. I’ll be back.

One of the best places to eat in girdwood! Everyone needs to try it at least once! I had the halibut sandwich and their burgers were great too! Staff was very friendly! And the environment was very calming! Highly recommend!

Cool staff jamming great music. We had a killer lunch/breakfast. The egg breakfast with reindeer sausage was killer! We also had the halibut sandwich. Best sandwich in a LONG time. Well done, crew!

Stopped here on the way from anchorage to Seward. Decent menu and beer selection. Atmosphere is a little hipster Brooklyn vibe. Very low key people and service. We got fish and chips to go, and it was decent(nothing earth shattering). I thought it was pretty expensive for a little eating spot in a tiny little town.

First trip back to Girdwood in 10 years and we stopped in at Silvertip Grill for lunch. This spot used to be a Chinese restaurant(remember the dirty goldfish tank?) but now it serves more traditional American fare(and the fish tank’s gone). Ordered and split the tasty fish & chips and a caesar salad. Both were right on target at this unpretentious eatery. The service was prompt and friendly to this trio of travelers. Got the yummy bread pudding to go. It did survive the trip back along the super scenic Seward Highway to Anchorage, but once we got back to the hotel, it was gone. Take a slow day in Girdwood — and Silvertip is a great place to begin to ease off the RPMs.

Definitely a cool place to pop in for some breakfast or a drink. The bartender/server was a really nice guy who was very welcoming to us two outsiders. We both got breakfast sandwiches and while they were by no means spectacular, hey, they were good. Certainly did the trick. They are also open every day, which is nice as Girdwood is a sleepy town off-season, which is when we were there. If we ever return, I’ll most definitely return to the Silvertip Grill.

The atmosphere is laid back & friendly. The food is greasy & delish. The staff is super kind & patient. My only complaint? Too small! They need way more real estate.

Finally, a great hamburger in Girwood. The onion rings and fries are frozen, but good quality. But I do not care, the burgers are cooked properly and have great, juicy flavor.

We ate at the two main hot spots the double musky/chair 5 and this place top them both! We’ll be coming back.

I’ve only been here once, but I really enjoyed the burger, onion rings and beer selection, and would definitely come back. Silvertip is not a fancy place. It is, as they say, divey, but I mean that in a good way. My burger was really good: half a pound of Angus beef, cooked perfectly and topped with super-crispy bacon and blue cheese. Mmmm. And the onion rings — some of the best I’ve had in a long time! Well seasoned, cooked perfectly, not even the tiniest hint of oil or grease. My friend and I both got those as sides to our burgers, and they were so good, we had to order another round. Beer selection was good, especially considering it’s a small place, with plenty of local craft brews to choose from. Service was friendly, relaxed and attentive.

No cheese on the nachos, listened to the guy behind the bar talk about all his clothes being covered in yager stains or blood stains… Nice local color, but a definite building code nightmare and simply a greasy spoon. Had to get our own to go box.

Cheap prices. Kindof divey. Well, honestly, pretty divey, but it was still enjoyable. Personable service. Great Alaskan beer choices. Burgers. It’s not fine dining, but it’s comfortable and welcoming.

My favorite place in Girdwood. It’s small, a little divey, and the best place to grab a beer for 30 miles. The bartenders are always friendly(Andrew is my favorite), and the service is always good(albeit it can be slowww if they are busy, as there’s usually only one person working in the front). Beers are all local and decently priced. While for the most part, the food isn’t spectacular, there are three things that are AMAZING: –the French toast. omg. –their potato salad… this is the only place I would substitute out French fries. –French Dip sandwich. This last being not just the best thing to eat at Silvertip, but quite probably the best French Dip I’ve EVERHAD. While I’m prone to hyperbole, this is just an honest assessment. Writing this makes me miss living in Girdwood. I may have to drive the 40 miles from Midtown tomorrow for a French Dip. Go to Silvertip. Drink good beer. Eat the best sandwich in the world(small exaggeration, maybe). Tip well.

There’s two things you need to know when you to Girdwood. 1. Everything moooooves a loooooooot slooooooooooower in Girdwoooooooooooood. 2. Everything is more expen$ive in Girldwood. Girdwood is an artsy hippy town, Alaskan style. It’s pretty much heaven on earth. Picturesque, funky and fun, noone hurries in Girwood. So when you meander into the Silvertip, expect that your server will meander over whenever she darn well finishes kibbitzing with the locals, and your food will meander over whenever it’s good and done. Meanwhile, you can sit and soak in the local flavor. That IS what you came to Alaska for, right? Oh good! We understand each other. Don’t expect culinary greatness from the Silvertip. It’s essentially a local watering hole that has ample hot sauce, crayons and pitchers of PBR. There’s tons of TVs to watch the game, a smoking patio and clean bathrooms. Food is basic and tasty. The one surprise is variety of beers they carry. I got some of the best french fries I’ve had in a long time and some delicious corned beef and cabbage soup. We had our table for about 3 hours while we watched the game. Silvertip is just a good place to kick back and relax.

My partner and I ate at Silvertip Grill over Labor Day weekend while we were visiting Girdwood, and overall we felt it was just a regular dive bar with cheap prices as you would expect. The inside is a bit cramped, and there’s only about 10 tables to sit down. But the same time, this is a complete dive bar so that pretty much tells all you need to know about Silvertip Grill. There’s a good number of beers on tap, and TVs throughout the restaurant to watch sports. It seemed to be filled with locals, so that’s obviously a good sign. The food really wasn’t anything to write home about — my partner had the burger and it was just stuff that I just been unfrozen and cooked. I had the crabcake sliders, and they were just average. If you just want some quick beers, Silvertip Grill is fine — but that’s about it. There are better options for food in Girdwood, but the service was friendly and no major complaints!
