Drain Away Rooter

My technician arrived about 30 minutes outside the scheduled 2 hour window. The company did call during the 2 hour window to let me know he was running late and to confirm later was ok.
The receptionist told me the technician would be able to clarify which machine should be used in my situation. When he arrived he didn’t explain it well and didn’t give me enough information to feel confident in my decision. He seemed to be pushing the ‘jetter’ which costs more per hour and uses the homeowners water. I agreed to that method. It didn’t work. Then he said I would need to use the other method, the cable. This worked fine, but there was no discount offered and I felt I had been scammed into using the option that wouldn’t work.
In the end I paid the full price for both options $ 190/​hour and $ 149/​hour — even though he wasn’t here a full two hours doing work. Then later I look at the bill again and realize I was charged $ 10.00 fuel charge! Their website says they don’t charge for anywhere in the Portland area. I’d say this $ 10.00 fuel charge says otherwise.
I would not recommend this company to a friend or family member, I feel like I was not given all the information up front to make an informed decision and I was charged a hidden fee that was never explained. Two thumbs down.
My problem was identified, but to have it repaired would have cost more money and I decided to do the work myself.

I was referred to Drain Away Rooter by my real estate agent Rex Buchanan. I had multiple plumbing issues I needed solved. I was very pleased with the knowledge of Ken from Drain Away Rooter. He came out on a Thursday to evaluate my water heater issue and sink plumbing to give a quote. I decided to go ahead and use their company to fix my plumbing issues. They were able to do this the very next day, and Ken was very knowledgeable and helpful with my questions I had.

as a realtor, i am always looking for great service for my clients. i was referred to drain away rooter and jake came out to check my home disposal. he told me it needed to be replaced but said i could save money if i went and bought a new disposal myself and then just paid for installation! thats what i did and then the next day ken came out and installed! both guys were on time, polite, and professional! i truly appreciated their honest and straight forward approach! refreshing :)

Jake Sutton was our technician and was completely thurough. He answerd all of our questions and help someone understand a process that I had no knowledge of! He did a great job!
