The cream cheese enchilada is amazing! Staff is friendly, margaritas are tasty and food comes out in a timely manner. Remember to always tip your waiter/waitress at least 20% –25% because they work their butts off!!!

Second time visiting here, service was extremely slow after a 20 min wait to be seated. Our chips and salsa we brought as soon as we sat but as far as our waitress. We saw her maybe a whole three times including when she brought us our meal. Didn’t bring us waters and the only good thing she did was refill our drinks 3 times when I wasn’t even finish with the second one. Very slow to order drinks, our entrée and then our ticket. We had to get up and go to the bar to pay our tab, walked passed an older lady that I assumed was a manager and she asked how we were and I explained and she said sorry and walked away. Won’t be returning anytime soon.

Great food for the price! I don’t give out 5 stars easy so I feel comfortable saying to give this place a shot.

There are few decent Mexican restaurants North of the river, so I was very happy with our meal here! Very busy on Friday night, but there’s a reason. Some dishes are better than others — the chicken flautas are dry and bland, and the chile Verde is heavy on the tomatillos and light on the chile, but don’t worry, there are much better things on the menu. The chicken feliz is gloriously cheesy and delicious, the shredded beef fried in flour tortillas and covered in the house seasoned cream cheese is excellent — especially with the house jalapeño avocado salsa. The house margarita is better than most, and the service is good. But what I want to talk to you about right now is the stuffed fried avocados in champagne sauce. OMG. These things come four on a platter, so they are not a light appetizer, but oh wow are they good. So good. I look forward to coming back here and trying a few more things from the menu– people at nearby tables were getting the espinaca dip to start and the Friday special(shrimp and crab cream cheese enchiladas) and they seemed to be repeat customers. The portions are large for the price so our check was lower than we expected.

This was a very great experience! There was a small wait and took sometime for our waitress to get us drinks but everything after that was amazing. The food arrived quickly and it was amazing. When came time to pay the waitress told me not to worry about the queso because she had a coupon for it. Very nice gesture! Considering that app is $ 6 and was delicious!!!

Went on Saturday evening– waited 30 – 45 minutes for food. I told manager about our wait and she said ‘we are pretty busy’ — duh. Our chips were not fried properly and when our food arrived the tacos were thrown together and broken and the cheese in my enchiladas was not melted. Not the usual food and service.

Food was delicious and served quickly. The service was friendly and helpful. There is endless chips and salsa, there is a dip with avocado that my girlfriend loves.

Today was my second time here, first time all we had were drinks and chips and salsa. Both are ok. Some burnt chips, salsa is ok. Today I ordered the sour cream enchiladas, lunch special. Came with black beans, they were ok-could use a little bit more seasoning. Rice was actually pretty good for a Tex mex place. The corn meal ball or whatever it is was really good. My entrée though… The sour cream sauce that covered it is… curdled. Like it had huge chunks of hard stuff in it. Super strong flavor, whatever it is, was bad. Did not taste anything like sour cream. Service was just so so. We never got water, even after asking twice. And our waitress thought it was appropriate to touch my arm, I am heavily tattooed, but that gives no right to anyone to randomly touch my arm. Especially not a stranger so that was weird. Even had another male server stop by and complain that she was new and should’ve brought us water, yet he never brought it either. Not worth another trip

Pretty good mango margarita! Love the cream cheese chicken enchiladas! The ambiance could use a little bit of help, it is too bright in there. I say dim those lights.

Mi Ranchito is easily my favourite place in town to get Mexican food. I love Tex Mex(no surprise, I’m Texan) and have had a hard time finding a restaurant that is as good as what I’m used to in San Antonio, but Mi Ranchito comes close. The only thing I didn’t care for when I went was the frozen margarita. Otherwise, chips, salsa, queso, and main dishes have been really good. They have a gluten-friendly section of the menu and all vegetarian offerings are clearly marked, which is always nice. Over all I’d recommend them and Abuelo’s for decent Mexican food in SA, with Mi Ranchito being less pricey and more of a mom and pop place.

This has become my go to for Tex Mex in the northland. Awesome hot, thin crisp chips and salsa that has body. The best is the complimentary green sauce — avocado crema. My standby is the shrimp quesadillas. I have always had great service here and they have a great bar.

We ate there the other night because it was close and we had coupons. Wait was 30 minutes but 30 minutes on a Saturday night in KC is the norm. Boy, we were all blown away. For the price we paid, the portions and tastes of the food were outstanding. This is definitely a place I’ll come back to if I don’t feel like going all the way to zona rosa to eat.

I normally am a fan of mi ranchito, however, this location has issues. Ordered the stuffed jalapeños and cheese dip as an appetizer. Cheese dip came out right away, with a small handful of chips, which quickly went away. Waitress was no where to be found to ask for more chips. Wife ordered a frozen margarita, got it on the rocks. 20 minutes in, still no chips or appetizer. Oh look, here comes our food. Included in the food was the appetizer. I told the food runner, we didn’t want the appetizer at this point since our food was ready. He looked at me and said«I don’t know what you want me to do about that». The manager came over and said she was sorry about that and would take them off the ticket, which did NOT happen. My father had the fajita burrito, chicken, peppers, and onions. Or in this case, all onions. Seriously, a burrito shell filled with onions. He told the waitress and she said«what you didn’t want extra onions?» The manager came by and said«and?» My wife had taquerias, oh and several large pieces of plastic. I had a chicken burrito, half the chicken was good. The other half was so rubbery, I questioned if it were cooked. It was, however, I’m guessing left over from another plate and microwaved for my meal. As we left we over heard 3 other tables discussing all the issues with their meals as well, from wrong meals, wrong drinks and bad service. I’ve never had these issues at other locations, but I’ll never got back to this one.

Pretty good menu with quite a bit of depth and accessible combos. Good solid Mexican food. Staff is above average. Seems to be a well run establishment.

the staff here was amazing. I took my daughter out to celebrate for lunch but we didn’t bring a lot of cash with us because we hadn’t expected to go out. We realized after we sat down that we probably should have planned better so we started to leave when the beautiful hostess with gorgeous nails came over and asked us why we were leaving, she then offered all the appetizers to be on the house. We couldn’t believe it. So of course we were able to stay. Niki really enjoyed the food and being here. We will definitely be back… with our wallets!!!

They have a new appetizer and other items on the menu but the deep fried avocados are to die for! Pretty big too! 2 avocados cut in half deep fried stuffed with chicken and garnished with tomatoes and cilantro!

Went for my boyfriends 41st birthday. Well he specifically asked for no singing. … could get past that, but that took a spoonful of fried ice cream and smeared it on his glasses, beard and up his nose. So rude. This was just the icing on the cake to stale chips, water it took 20 minutes to receive, margaritas that might as well of been virgin, and food that was mediocre.

My first time coming here was not that long after they first had opened. I came on my lunch break, so I only had about a 30 minute window to wait and eat my meal. I ordered fajita nachos and it took them longer than I expected to bring my food out. When they finally brought my food out, it was the wrong thing. They brought me out a quesadilla instead. I told them that the order was wrong, so they took it back and said they would fix it. Since it was taking a while for my food to come out, I just told them to box up to-go in order for me to make it back to work in time. They brought me out 2 containers, so I paid and went back to work. When I got to work and opened the containers, I realized that they had got my order wrong again! They gave me nacho chips with cheese and jalapenos. The also gave me another container with pico de gallo, lettuce and sour cream. No where in the container did I have fajita veggies. I went back again after that and ordered the quesadillas, and they turned out to be pretty good. However, they were pretty sloppy to eat. This place is more like Tex-Mex than Mexican food, so if you want Mexican I recommend trying somewhere else.
