I was looking at buying a used car at this dealership. Unfortunately I live in CA, and wasn’t able to see the car in person without flying to Portland. The carfax seemed fine. So I called the dealer and asked some questions about the car. They said it was in great shape and there were absolutely no problems with this car. Nothing mechanical etc. I asked them to send me some pictures of the intereior because they were not displayed on their site. The interior seemed fine.
Just to be safe, I had a mechanic do a pre-​purchase inspection. He told me the car was a total piece of s*&%!! It needed a new transmission, bumper, timing belt, and water pump. In addition, he suspected there were oil leaks, and possibly damage to the turbo-​charge. Apparently there was also mold growing on the interior, and the rear wind-​shield wiper had been ripped off. That’s right. I said ripped off! He also informed me that the car was missing seat belts.
I can’t believe how blatantly lied to I was! I don’t think you have to be a mechanic to know that the vehichle is missing seat belts and a rear wind-​shield wiper. Granted they are not the original owners of the car, and I wouldn’t expect them to know every detail about the car’s history. But it would have been nice to at least mention the obvious things! NEVER BUY HERE! They almost got me! Don’t let it happen to you!
If you really must buy here, at least get the car checked out by someone honest. Because these guys either haven’t got a clue what they are talking about, or are just crooks.
