Great café to hang out and work at. During the spring summer they have a few tables to sit outside at. Coffee and espresso drinks are good and a few food options. Now if we can just get Glastonbury to be a little more diverse…

I didn’t realize I never wrote a review for Daybreak, which is amazing cosidering how many $$$s I’ve spent here. After searching and sampling the various coffee shops in the area for my favorite espresso blend, I found that Daybreak has the best blend for my tastes around — J. Renee is a second close, but their espresso had a sourness towards the end of the cup. Daybreak was the 2nd place we went to after moving to Glastonbury — after our first night in town. We had breakfast and a couple beverages while waiting for the moving truck to show up. It was a great first day, we enjoyed sitting by the window, and right in the middle of town and watching all the ‘action’. I then caught the espresso bug, and invested a few pennies on a grinder and espresso machine — so the search began to find the best espresso around. Daybreak met that mark. The owner and I had a chat about beans, wet vs. dry process, single origin vs. blends, and he invited me to share an espresso with him on the house — well he convinced me quite easily after that shot, I have continued to drink their espresso every day for the last 7 months They have a nice ‘member rewards’ club, wherein part of your retail purchase goes towards an account — where once accumulating a specific amount you can use it towards your next purchase — or continue to save it. Unfortunately I have gone in a few times and they did not have any espresso beans left, or only had enough for a half pound. They also sent me a birthday ‘treat’ for 1 beverage(any!) and 1 pastry on the house. There is also a 15% off a total purchase as well, an unexpected surprise which I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday morning. Friendly baristas, extremely knowledgeable retail staff, nice shop, and great location. Keep it going Daybreak!

The staff here is obnoxiously rude, and I will not be returning! Today was my first time visiting Daybreak. My husband and I walked into an empty coffee shop with three staff members behind the counter. They glared at us for several seconds and continued talking amongst themselves before one of them(the cashier) said«hello.» She stood at the register impatiently while we decided what to order. The whole transaction was awkward and uncomfortable. Not once did she(or any of the staff members) crack a smile or thank us for our patronage. My husband then asked another staff member for the Wi-Fi password, and his response was, «did you order something?» We both agreed that this will be our first and last time at this awful coffee shop. Not to mention my coffee tasted burnt!

Huele delicioso! Un muy buen lugar para ir con tu pareja o amigos para conversar y disfrutar los ricos olores del café recién horneado. La comida está regular pero las bebidas si valen la pena

This coffee shop is a lot larger than it looks on the outside. You walk in greeted with the smell of freshly roasted coffee. Which could brighten any coffee drinkers day. I had a cappuccino there and it was great. The froth on my capp even tasted milky. Definitely a good place to go and now i understand where it was always packed here when I was younger and less caffeinated ;)

Coffee fuels my life! And Daybreak Coffee is a fantastic place to feed my addiction. We stopped in to refill our coffee supply at home. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, even the other customer near me attempted to provide advice and highlighted their joy at coming here. No haughty or angsty baristas in sight. The patrons were idyllic, a menagerie of local business folk, police, teenagers, and young couples. This is clearly a popular and beloved local establishment. We purchased a few pounds of ground coffee on the spot. Their prices were very competitive and menu quite expansive, from pure regional beans to flavored. They did their grinding there and were exceedingly great at it, out came flavorful and delicious fluffy ground coffee of a myriad of flavors. And although this may be sacrilege to many, our busy lifestyles usually consist of drip ground coffee on the weekdays and the occasional fresh-ground french-press on the weekends. Daybreak coffee was willing to accommodate either. On another occasion we stopped in for breakfast. Again, the staff was very polite, although the service a bit slow. However to my surprise, this sluggish pace was warranted by real bacon and fresh ingredients. It’s by far the best coffee roaster, grinder, and purveyor in the Hartford area that we’ve been to and will come here repeatedly in the future.

I like that Daybreak roasts their own coffee in small batches. Hipster-ish? Sure, probably. But they have an incredible array of specialty coffees to enjoy both at the retail café and at home. All year long and especially during the holidays, I appreciate their gift baskets. From gourmet foods, chocolates, and teas — these are super convenient when you run out of gift-giving ideas for one of your family, friends or clients. I’ll be honest though, I only come here for the coffee. But from what I’ve seen come out of the kitchen look like some great breakfast and lunch offerings. Next time Daybreak! FYI — Mon — Fri: 630am — 6pm, Sat: 8am — 5pm, Sun 8am — 2pm — Easy parking in the back of the building

You walk and and you have all these wonderful aromas in the air. Only tried the pumpkin muffin… yummy. The milk/cream dispenser are a bit weird, other than that I really liked the place

First things first. Coffee is great. Whether you get a blend or single origin, the coffee is great, the best around. I have not gotten a single disappointing coffee in all the time I have come here. What really sets this place apart is the absurdly good customer service. Everyone is so nice. What prompted this review is an exchange I saw between the owner and a customer about espresso shots. The customer was having problems with a grind he had gotten from there not working in his machine. Not only did they give him a new grind, they also spent the time to share their technical knowledge on espresso machines(17 grams in a double shot, etc) and offered to call this person once they were able to determine the proper specs for his machine! It was a great case of going way above and beyond and I was really impressed.

Excellent… Coffee is very high in quality. But the best part is that everyone there is very down to earth! It really brightened the atmosphere

This little place is adorable. You can smell the roasting coffee from the parking lot and the large copper roaster in the front is always cool to watch. Not to mention the great variety of coffee beans you can buy fresh raosted! However, the coffee is just good, okay even. It’s not great. And definitely don’t get a chai unless you want slightly flavored water. The food takes forever(over 30 min for a breakfast sandwich!) and this has been the case for multiple trips. I love the atmosphere(you just can’t get any cuter that downtown Glastonbury) and I REALLY want to love this place, but it is what it is: an OKAY coffee shop in a cozy and quaint location.

Daybreak is one of my very favorite places in Glastonbury. Whether stopping by for a quick coffee or to sit outside and watch Glastonbury life go by(yes you cynics, there is life in Glastonbury), I find this a perfect place. Delightful indoor space and perfect fair weather outdoor café. I love variety in unflavored coffee and Daybreak never disappoints. The baked goods are amazing though I try to avoid them so I can fit through the door. I have never had better scones. ] have never had lunch here so cannot comment but everything i have enjoyed here has been outrageously good. Could not offer any higher recommendation.

I have been going to Daybreak ever since moving to the center of Glastonbury about four years ago. I love their variety of flavored coffees(Snickerdoodle is my absolute fave!) and the employees are always so kind. We have recently purchased some of their coffee to brew at home as my husband only drinks decaf now and he loves it!

I go here for the freshly roasted coffee beans and not so much for the café side. I’m sure they have good stuff there, but I just prefer to brew my own coffee. That said, the beans are freshly roasted in a huge roaster that you can see and smell as soon as you walk into the store. The have plenty of blends with good descriptions on this rotating display. I really appreciate the huge variety they have and have been trying to try more and more beans. The clerks also really know their stuff and can even give you recommendations specific to your brewing style(at least the one I encountered did). They also have a really good rewards program(for a small business). Definitely love this place for the coffee beans. I’m trying to finish my beans quickly because I can’t wait to try another blend. :P

Foam, foam, and oh yeah – foam. After a solid few seconds of taking my first sip of a latte, I actually reached the drink itself under the mountain of foam that was on top. When did lattes have that much foam? Isn’t that more of a cappuccino? I was confused taking my drinks from the pick-up counter, thinking it was an added topping [whipped cream]; but tasting its tastelessness I realized that it was foam. Bleh. I am breaking away from spending my day and money at Daybreak. My friend and I stopped in to Daybreak on a Saturday afternoon to grab some coffee to try it after seeing such great reviews. After waiting a moment for our order to be taken, we asked about how many shots of flavor are in each size. We ordered two lattes(one cinnamon flavored and one regular) and proceeded to wait for at least fifteen minutes for one chai to come out, then another ten minutes for the two lattes. I picked up my lattes, finally, and got confused for a split second, during which the barista who made our drinks looks slightly confused(while being overwhelmed), too. I thought for that moment it was just whipped cream on top, only to find it was tasteless and just milk foam. Yuck. Even when I got to the cinnamon latte part after making my way through the foam with my upper lip, I found the espresso and milk masked greatly with cinnamon. I could not find the espresso taste at all. I tried the plain latte and, again going through the foam, found it was not very well-crafted. My friend tried to doctor her dirty, as I did with the plain latte with various condiments, and found hers was too heavy in espresso(though she clarified only a small shot of espresso in ordering) and not sweet at all. Each beverage was really undrinkable. The prices are somewhat higher than other coffee shops, and considering the quality of the drinks and the amount of foam on top of the drinks, I find them overpriced. I was charged 75 cents for one shot of cinnamon(though it tasted more like four shots). Even if the service was friendly and efficient, I would have not minded the prices, but it was not unfortunately. The staff was not very friendly and seemed overwhelmed by the crowds. The pastries cases – and the separate case for chocolates and coffee to go(again, I am confused because it is not well-marked) – was almost empty with few treats to have with the coffee ordered and long-waited for. I asked one other customer who placed her order shortly after us while we were all waiting for our drinks if she had been to Daybreak before and if it always took this long; she said it does take a little time, though this seemed to be long, too. If it took any longer and had I not paid yet, I probably would have walked out. With foamy and not so jazzy lattes and service that did not impress, I will likely not be returning to Daybreak. I was very disappointed and underwhelmed by the quality of the drinks, pastry selection, and service.

THE best iced coffee I have ever had! I travel for work. I am all over the Northeast. I try to visit coffee roasters wherever I go. Most iced coffee taste like coffee flavored water. This DOESNOT!!! Full bodied flavor with no bitter. A nice hint of smokey caramel. Perfect on a boiling hot SEPT day! Super friendly staff as well! Go in and get your iced coffee today! Parking lot too!

I don’t know, guys, I wasn’t super impressed. I was quite excited to try Daybreak based on all the doting reviews, and because the last time I was in the building it was a pharmacy and I was five years old getting my ears pierced. However, it just didn’t resonate with me. I ordered a «for here» chai, and was half-greeted by a conglomerate of young employees, none of whom seemed to know what their role was behind the counter. The resulting chai was made well, but not well enough that I’d want to order it again. The seating in the back was less than cozy, and the flow of customers made it feel more rushed than relaxed. You guys seem to love this place, so I’m going to have to give it another go or two, perhaps order some food, and post up in front this time. But for now, I just feel very blah about it.

As someone who isn’t a coffee or tea drinker I never had much of a desire to give this place a try, but had I known how awesome their lunches were I would have started coming here much sooner. A friend introduced me to Daybreak as a place to grab a quick lunch as a break from the office and it did not disappoint. I ordered a delicious panini with sun-dried tomatoes and ham(I can’t remember the name) which came with a side salad. Both were excellent. I also had the freshly squeezed lemonade mixed half and half with black tea. It was the perfect blend of freshness and sweetness. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Overall, I wish I had known about this place sooner. It’s so close to work that it’s an easy place for me to shoot out for a quick lunch when I need a break from the office.

Daybreak is very inviting with a pleasant atmosphere. It’s a great choice if you have the morning off and want to spend a few hours somewhere with a fresh cup of joe and a light breakfast sandwich. The lunch menu also lists off some delicious paninis and soups that are now on my list of things to try. What makes this place unique is that it has a rather large gift shop of gourmet snacks and a variety of freshly roasted beans for the foodie and coffee snob in your life. Overall, this place is very welcoming but more of a place to socialize and catch up with a friend than to do work because of the noise level. During my last visit I found it surprisingly too loud to get work done but I think it may have just been a busier morning that day. I was also sitting right next to the coffee grinder which didn’t help.

Daybreak is quickly becoming one of my favorite places in Glastonbury. Don’t let the outside deceive you. This space is huge and has about 10 small tables where you can rest a while. I love that they have so many gourmet teas, jams, spreads, snacks, and chocolates. This is a perfect spot to get a gift for a self-proclaimed foodie. I also have to give a nod to their roasted coffee. It’s not too bitter and definitely wakes me up. They also have a decent variety of pastries, teas, and refrigerated juices/smoothies. Their lunch paninis were great. I got the Tuscan Sun, and it was very satisfying.(However, the side salad of cubed cheese, canned olives, and mixed greens is weird and not necessary.) The people who work here are cheerful and pleasant. They’d love to help you pick out a perfect tea or chocolate candy.

Every time I venture into Daybreak, I always leave telling myself that I’ll be back more often. Honestly, I have no idea why I’m not stopping in multiple times per week… perhaps I’ve just become too lazy and spoiled by drive-thrus. The fact of the matter is that Daybreak has the best coffee in town(barely edging out SoG). If you can find it within yourself to park the car for 3 minutes to walk inside, you will NOT be disappointed. It’s also cheaper than most of the usual suspects(I’m looking at you Dunkin and Starbucks)! p. s. — make sure you check out the daily coffee flavor specials. They are ALWAYS good!
