All things change. Went a few years ago & was very disappointed. Returned recently & now love this place. Went 3 times this past month & ate in the bar both visits. Service was great & food awesome. Ordered small portions & took home leftovers every time. Very generous portions!

Location. That’s why we go here. It’s probably why most folks end up here. Rather unremarkable except for the cocktails. The best bet is to meet for drinks in the small, but well kept bar area and order some food as a compliment to said drinks. It’s comfortable and has a tv. The bar is stocked and has good martinis, ample size at a great price for this area. Staff is friendly and personable, but stretched thin sometimes. We usually leave happy, regardless.

Had very good breakfast. Very good coffee where I’ve found most breakfast places lack. Excellent service and ambiance. Has nice fire places. Food was delicious. No complaints. The other places in Glastonbury are so crowded. So don’t waste your time waiting in line, head over to Piatti or start there first.

They don’t really have an extensive menu of appetizers for sharing but we ordered the hummus, the wings and the traditional bruschetta. They made a mistake and made the mushroom by accident so they gave it to us anyway and I was thrilled — liked it better than the traditional. The staff did spend a little too much time talking to each other as opposed to bring as attentive as they could and the wine prices were a little expensive since they have no happy hour specials. Place was very clean.

We sat on the patio on a Friday evening to have dinner. The ambiance was pretty good, and the fire pit was nice. The food, however, was not very good. We started with a couple of appetizers, the Bruschetta and Calamari. The Bruschetta was definitely the best thing we ate all night. The Calamari was SUPER bland, and the marinara it was served with was basically heinz tomato sauce straight from the can. For entrees I had the Margherita pizza, and my wife had a Spinach Salad with Shrimp. The pizza was EXTREMELY bland. I had to load it up with salt, pepper, and crushed peppers to make it taste good. Additionally it seems as if the crust was a par-bake crust, as it was pretty floppy when it came out. The tomatoes that were on it were not ripe, and were rather tough. The spinach salad was… a spinach salad. The kicker was the fact that the shrimp didn’t even taste like shrimp. They tasted like NOTHING… super weird. Probably pre-cooked(out of the restaurant) and refrigerated until they are to be served. The cost is definitely not justified. We spent about 80 dollars with tip, only consuming 2 beers. Food is certainly not worth the price. Oh yeah, and did I mention there’s NO happy hour?!

In the beginning of August they started breakfast from 7 am to noon on Saturday and Sunday. Delicious. Outstanding. Great, great, great food. The omelet are loaded with yummy veggies and cheese. But the best is the royal crêpe. Fresh fruit both inside and out of the crêpe with a brown sugar sauce to add extra sweetness and a dollop of fresh whipped cream makes this delicious but not too sweet. If you are a carb person there is hash browns(a favorite for my daughter), home fries and hash to choose from. Each only is its own form of tasty saltiness. Can’t wait to go again next week.

While taking the back way home through Connecticut we needed to make a stop for food and spotted Piatti. There were only two other people there as it was that awkward time between lunch and dinner but we felt welcomed and were treated extremely well by our friendly, attentive and helpful waitress. The food was delicious: gnocchi(substituted, by our request, for the orecchiette that was listed in the menu) with bolognese sauce was full flavored and addicting and linguine pomodoro was another hit with amazing sauce and enhanced even further with the addition of their house made sausage. Salads were fresh and deliciously dressed. The final highlight were the cannoli which are housemade, as well, freshly filled, and absolutely out of this world! My daughter and husband are cannoli fiends and they were in heaven! We were so happy to stumble into Piatti and be so well taken care of after we’d spent hours on the road.

3.5 stars, why not round up though. we went for wifeys bday. it was fine, we sat outside, which was a nice plus, however, when the wind picked up and the bugs came out, it lost its luster. the menu is primarily sandwiches and pasta. to be honest, it was kinda pricey. she had the ham and cheese panini, i had lasagna, it was ok, wish there was more pasta in it, but it happens. they have a kids menu, we were without kids, but she wanted to point that out as she thinks were going back with kids, no chance. anyway, give em a shot if you want to, id say its worth it once to see what you get, but im ok with putting them on the bottom of the list until we get to some of the other must trys in town.

I do not understand why there are such a mashing going on about this place. My fiancé and I stumbled upon this place because I had to eat before I take a test for a professional school. Since we did not do any research ahead of time, we weren’t expecting much. Oh my we were SSSSOOOOOWRONG!!! if you look at outside of their patio, this is obviously some kinds of italian place; Whenever we are at an italian place we go for pizza and our favorite kinds of pasta dish-Seafood Fra De Avolo. And just for the sake of having a meal we ordered Antipasto platter. It was one of the best decision we made in terms of anything we order from the place because as it turns out their pizza was kinda okay, but not excellent. Pasta was fresh, not dried, also this Fra de Avolo had broth!!! We loved that idea, especially when you can literally taste that deep-broth taste. Anti pasto is always a great starter. I am planning on bring my parents’ there for my graduation dinner. Only thing i wish they had was BYOW(W for wine) or BYOB. Since all the meal is in rather steeper side in terms of money so being able to bringing my own wine or any drinks would have been super nice.

Friendly service and a warm, relaxed atmosphere compliment the fresh dishes at Piatti. The food selections are reasonably priced. Our lunch serving portions were just right — not too big and not too small. We will definitely return to enjoy more of the same.

Ah I also so wanted to like this place. My dad lives right around the corner and we needed a quick bite. So we gave it a shot without reviewing Unilocal.Sigh. Stepped in and was seated and received our waters but then… cricket noises*… waitress disappeared. As we sat there I couldn’t decide what I wanted and I started to explore Unilocal for help. That was the death of it. Nothing was standing out and while we were still patiently waiting I said«why force myself to pick an overpriced thing that will likely be subpar» So we walked out… I tried. Really did but the absence of the waitress left too much time for my fingers to get Unilocal curious. Sorry. Side note u would think after all these mediocre reviews ownership would call restaurant impossible for some help. Wewe

My husband and I went to Piatti on Valentine’s Day, this year. There was a snowstorm, so the restaurant was pretty empty– especially considering it was A major date holiday. We were seated right away, and received great service from beginning to end of our experience. My husband ordered the strip steak, and I ordered the chicken Marsala, which was a special. They brought out hot rolls and dipping oil, while we waited. Rolls were A+, but the dipping oil was bitter and overseasoned. Food was quick to come out, which wasn’t surprising, considering how many people were there. My husband liked his food, but felt it was overseasoned. My chicken was also good, though I felt it was overseasoned, oversalted, and swimming in so much sauce, it was almost like a stew. I like my food saucy, so it was just fine with me, but there was something about it that felt a little sloppy. Definitely above average though. It came with mixed veggies, which were very delicious. We got the«death by chocolate cake» for dessert. They get their desserts from a bakery in another town. It was fantastic and beautiful. Probably the highlight of the meal, along with the hot rolls. All in all, I think this place is good. It’s really cute inside, and the staff is really nice. I think the food is average, but I wouldn’t come to Glastonbury specifically to go there. I hope they stay in business, because it’s really convenient and we enjoy it.

My husband and I went there for the first time this evening. We were in town and called ahead. We were told there was only a 15 minute wait. I thought this was odd for a Saturday night but we were hopeful! The inside was cozy. We ordered drinks and ordered our meal when the drinks arrived. That was at 6:45. I ordered a portabella burger and salad and my husband ordered a stuffed burger-medium, and a salad. No bread or anything was brought to the table and while we waited I watched wait staff move full water glasses from empty tables to seated guests at other tables instead of getting fresh glasses of water. After inquiring several times on our food, it finally arrived 50 minutes later. My husbands burger was well done, not medium. My portabella burger was cold and salads came out with the burgers. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there wasn’t one on duty this evening. What restaurant operates on a saturday night without a manager on duty? When I said to the waitress that the time we waited for burgers(overcooked and cold) was unacceptable she told me we only waited 35 minutes and she was sorry but they are really busy!!! She did offer to remove my husbands burger from the bill but after she made excuses for there service I requested the check and explained we would not be back. Disappointing service, dissapointing food.

I really WANTED to like this place. It’s got a nice location and my daughter is fascinated by the fire every time we drive by. Finally having a free night my husband, daughter and I ventured in. The atmosphere inside is very clean, but frankly I chose coming here because it said it was ‘kid friendly’. Kid friendly to me implies at least a kids menu and perhaps a coloring book. Neither of those things are there(even though there were a lot of diners with children). However we pressed on. The waiter was friendly enough. We were hungry. We ordered the hummus plate for an appetizer. This was not hummus. I am not sure what it was but some garlick-y bomb pile of poop on the plate with a few chopped up veggies. There was definitely not chickpeas(which I thought was a key ingredient) in the hummus. Fail. So then dinner. My husband ordered the sirloin tips, which sounded amazing. But it basically was low quality beef mixed in with jarred red peppers. My food was ok — I ordered a panini with a side salad. The salad dressing was basically all olive oil, no balsamic. The food we were served was low quality. My daughter could barely eat her $ 7.95 grilled cheese. It was on some sort of submarine bread, with a pile of fries. Definitely not made for a 3 year old. She did enjoy the fries. I should mention here that is not hard to get a 3 year old to enjoy fries. That is not a high bar. As we were eating our meal the place got colder and colder. It was cold night but they clearly have an issue with their heating system. Us and half of the diners were wearing coats as we ate. So as we got ready to leave and pay, our server disappeared. I went up to the cash register to cash out and the guy behind the counter said he wasn’t «certified to ring us up». He did finally find our server, but then another server cut him off as I am sitting there, waiting to pay for a crappy, slightly overpriced, pretty below average meal, with a now bored preschooler, freezing. We won’t be going back.

I live close to this place so I figured I’d try it. We ordered a simple pizza and fried mozzarella. The pizza has no flavor and the mozzarella had no mozzarella! I could tell that it was a frozen product. Yuck.

Where do I start. The drinks were great! The food was horrible. We should have run for the door when we found the place practically deserted or perhaps when they seated us in the bar instead of the main dining room with our 2 year old daughter. I got the chicken Parmesan, my wife the Alfredo carbonara and my daughter the chicken tenders. My daughters and my chicken was well over cooked. My wife’s Alfredo was runny and you could actually taste the extra flour they put in to get it to that level. A bad experience all around.

I went here because I wanted someplace close by for dinner where it would be quieter and more intimate than the noisy, crowded places in Glastonbury Center. Piatti fit the bill perfectly. The interior is well designed to make you feel relaxed, the menu was extensive and the wine list was well-rounded. Our server was very pleasant and kept checking on us. She kept my water glass filled. Big GOLDSTAR. I had a great glass of merlot and my dinner companion had a panini with a glass of Malbec. The food was good. They also had a great live musician who did great covers of 1960’s and 70’s songs.

I have to post a newer review, since most here seem to be from 2010, and those are all pretty bad — one and two stars. This was my first visit to Piatti, so clearly my experience could have been a fluke, but I thought it was awesome. We had hoped to sit on the big deck out front, but afternoon thunderstorms said no. We opted to sit at the bar, instead. The restaurant it pretty big — a good sized dining room in front, and a large«bar» in the back. I put bar in quotes because the physical bar isn’t very big, maybe six or eight chairs. But the bar room is spacious enough to bring the whole office crew in for a few pops after work. And face it, that’s what most of Glastonbury’s clientele is(we had just come from Max Fish’s happy hour, which was packed with people still in suits and office attire). This bar had a handful of tables buzzing, but it was quiet by Max’s standards. But it should be noted that Max’s had half-emptied, too, by the time we left. Hopefully Piatti was not quiet because of the bad reviews posted here. Maybe it had problems in 2010, when most of the other reviews were posted, but we found It very clean, with nice décor, good service, and absolutely fantastic thin-crust pizza. We only tried the pizza. I can’t speak for their other menu offerings, which were pretty extensive and varied. Lots of traditional Italian fare, with a few twists. If I have a complaint, it’s that there isn’t a «personal» sized pizza. The smallest one is 12″, and my wife wanted a red sauce with sausage and hot peppers, I wanted white garlic sauce with artichoke and tomato. Not a good combo to try to do a half-and-half, so we ordered one of each. We’ll be eating leftover pizza for days. But it was GOOD. Very good. Superb. Among the best pies I’ve had in ages. Thin crust, perfectly cooked, generous toppings. Look past the old 2010 reviews and give Piatti a try. At least for the pizza. I’ll be back.
