I went to Dhakar’s office for the first time this week for a tooth extraction and was VERY impressed with his services. The office, staff and equipment were all top notch. There was no pain at all and it was over very fast with no problems. He has the best prices in town as well! I will be going back here for all my dental needs!

I have been having a problem with a tooth for years. It’s broken several times and other dentists kept filling it just to have it break again 6 months to a year later. A few weeks ago, about ²⁄₃ of the visible part of the tooth broke off and the nerve was exposed and I decided I was sick of dealing with it and I just wanted it gone (it’s the very last molar on the bottom, so it wouldn’t be noticeable).
I don’t have dental insurance and the places I called all wanted $ 400 – 500 or more to pull the tooth. There is the MCV dental school, but a student there filling over top of a cavity is the reason I was in this mess to begin with.
I found Dr. Dhakar through a Google search and set an appointment. The cost to extract a broken tooth was $ 175 including an x-​ray (it’s $ 50 less for a tooth that isn’t broken).
Dr. Dhakar and his staff were very nice and the whole process took a little over an hour. I was completely numb and there was no pain… just some pressure. Since the tooth was so broken and there wasn’t much to grab onto, he ended up having to split it and cut it out. Sounds kind of awful, but it didn’t hurt. I left with a prescription for antibiotics and pain meds and I’m still feeling okay now. I’m sure I’ll be sore for a few days, but that’s unavoidable!
I was very happy with the service I received and you can’t beat the price. I haven’t been able to eat or drink anything hot or cold for weeks, so I’m happy to have this all over with. I would definitely go back if I had another problem or just when I’m due for a regular cleaning.
