First off, let me say that I made an appointment and was not seen for at least 45 minutes. It seems that they take walk-ins and whether you have an appointment or not, they will take you in order in which you come in. Once I was finally let into the room, the assistant did her stuff and I still waited another 10 – 15 minutes for the actual doctor. In the meantime I could hear him laughing and talking to the lady in the room next to me. When he finally did come in, he wasn’t very personable and I felt rushed. I came in hoping to ask some personal questions about my hoo-ha, but he didn’t ask if I had any and I also didn’t feel comfortable with his assistant there since she didn’t say anything to me when she entered the office. The only thing I was able to quickly say before he started was that was experiencing a rash or scratch down there. So he prescribed me some medication and asked if I wanted to be tested for herpes. I was 99.9% sure that wasn’t the problem, so I said I’d come back if the problem persists. Then he had me put my feet up on the stirrups and then went onto assume I am getting bunions because I wear heels, but I assured him it came from a childhood problem and that I rarely wear heels. I felt more like he was judging me rather than he was concerned. Anyway, so he did the quick procedure and I left. A few weeks later I received a lab bill in the mail for over $ 300 because he tested for vaginitis. When I called they said it was because I expressed my concern for a scratch down there. I told them he prescribed me meds, but I didn’t agree to any additional tests to be done other than my annual. They said he was obligated to do it because I said something about it. But isn’t he obligated to tell a patient he is sending in another swab for a different test?! They said they would talk to the lab to see if they could at least reduce the bill(which by the way, they never called back to give me an update and I apparently still owe this bill). And then on top of that I received a $ 30 bill for the pap smear, which my insurance says they cover but there were additional things being tested I was charged for. When I called the doctor’s office and asked they said it’s mandatory that they test for other things along with the pap. They can’t just send in a test result for solely the pap. Once again, can’t they tell their patients this?! I didn’t think to ask and now I feel like I have to question everything when going to the doctor just to make sure I don’t end up with some ridiculous bills in the future. Needless to say, he will not be my next doctor for my pap smear.

I felt so comfortable talking to Dr. Dinc excellent listener and very knowledgeable. He was very thorough in explaining everything in detail and answered all my questions patiently. He didn’t rush me out and made me feel cared for. I waited in the waiting room for maybe 5 minutes tops. Excellent promptness and courteous staff too.

I am accustomed to using Unilocal for restaurant reviews but see it has evolved to the medical field so here it goes. I highly recommend Dr. Dinc to those seeking an OBGYN in the GB area. Typically I prefer finding doctors through in person referrals from friends, family or colleagues but I didn’t have the luxury this time. Concerns: 1. Male doctor for female issues(archaic but still a concern from someone slightly conservative). 2. Seeing a doctor based solely on online reviews. Food is one thing but a doctor? Positives: 1. Receptionist: I wish I had her name, she exceeded the pleasant customer service criteria. I have a new insurance and rather than have me self-pay, she looked up the phone number so I could bill them directly. She remembered me from my call the previous day and came off as genuine, caring person. 2. Medical Assistant: When performing my patient intake, the assistant asked about my last annual procedure to ensure I was in quota with my policy and wouldn’t incur charges. –None of these actions were prompted by me. I would call this proactive efficiency for their business. She was also approachable and efficient. 3. Doctor: All hesitations about were set aside when I met with the doctor. He has an excellent bedside manner and energy about him. He was thorough and to the point. There was no awkward small talk. He expressed concern where needed, asked follow-up questions and was open to my questions. He was quick with the Pap and communicated his actions clearly. Dr. Dinc is kind, competent and knowledgable –all factors that I seek in a practitioner. 4. Bonus: One bonus point is that they accept phone calls for minor concerns. I have a busy full-time job that is a distance from GB. Taking time off equates to taking a full day off and is a hinderance. Some of these points I think are fundamental expectations with doctors but I recently had a very poor and opposite experience with a GP I found online so I wanted to mention the specifics. I have already recommended this doctor to a friend and would do so for you online. I know the pains of blind online research. I plan to keep him as my go-to OBGYN. If you are searching, I’d say you can stop your search here.
