Growing up, there was always a Dairy Barn in Franklin Square, which was down the road from my house. The smells and the flavors of their carton of Dairy Barn Iced Tea still stays with me to this day. It’s a neat little idea. You drive up, order what you want(i.e. Half Gallon of Iced Tea, Loaf of Bread, Milk, etc). The employee tells you your total and you respond with«Out of $ – . – » so they can bring you your proper change. They bring you your bags and change. It was still how I remember it. The only reason I gave it 4 Stars out of 5 is because, I assume through their rebranding to become«The Barn» they made a lot of changes. One of those changes was changing the Iced Tea, which was the sole purpose of our stop. It is now Oak Tree Iced Tea in a plastic half gallon. It tasted very different from the Dairy Barn brand that was still in the carton. However, the Iced Tea wasn’t horrible and I would still visit next time I was in town for another half gallon and for the experience.

What a great concept! In town visiting from Vegas and I want coffee! My aunt says run down to the Barn and grab some eggs and hot coffee. We jump in the car and what do I find? This drive up bodega style grocery selling your necessities. Things like hamburger and hotdog buns to pasta and pasta sauce. Eggs and chips too! We ordered our coffee and with in minutes it’s as served to us in our car fresh and HOT! It was under $ 7 for 3 large flavored coffees. The man working the store was efficient and friendly! There are 2 drive-up windows so if you have a passenger he/she can help you out!

Drive in /Drive out. This chain of convenience stores is really perfect for those mornings when you are too lazy to get dressed and need milk or bread — you simply roll out of bed, into the buggy, drive up, yell out to them what you want and you are on your way. They really excel at the basic sundries: milks, eggs, soda and ice cream products. I wouldn’t necessarily do my shopping there but they do run specials and sometimes their prices beat the mainstream supermarkets. Super convenient.
