A little embarrassed to say, but this might just be my favorite store in Glen Cove. Anything that I need, I always stop by the Dollar Tree first, and 90% of the time they have what I’m looking for, at a fraction of the price of neighboring CVS or the grocery stores across town. From snacks for the kids, to hair accessories, to gardening equipment, Dollar Tree carries it all!

Back in the day… I used to spend my money like it was NOTHING. Then I grew up, and got cheap. Then I moved to Glen cove & discovered the dollar store. Not your every day dollar store, like a legit, decent one. I got my Christmas decorations from this place, my Christmas cards, and a few candles for stocking stuffers. I would just stay away from the food. You can’t trust dollar store food. Or can you???

The Dollar Tree chain does, of course, offer everything for one measly dollar — except the greeting cards which are two for a buck! And they are nice cards too! Shopping at a Dollar Tree, you can really save some money if you know what you’re looking for. Some of the items are not worth anywhere near a buck, some of the items are terrific values. The Glen Cove branch is not as large and has less of a selection than other branches of Dollar Tree here on Long Island. Employee turnover seems abnormally high. The store is frequently messy and low on stock. It appears their delivery truck comes on Thursday, so Friday is the day to hit this branch if you want to get any of the limited supply of advertised specials. Candy, microwave popcorn, snacks and some of the food items(frozen, refrigerated and canned) are a good bargain and are always in stock. On the other hand, would you really want a pregnancy test or brake fluid that only cost a buck? Dollar Tree doesn’t accept Mastercard credit card but accepts Visa, Discover and food stamps.

Greeting cards(2/$ 1) are actually nice – not cheesy at all. Otherwise, only a few decent items. Mostly, it’s junk that isn’t worth $ 1 to begin with. Do NOT go here if you don’t know what you’re buying!

$ 1 stuff. I had to run in again for some shelf liner rubbery things that they have by the roll– and as I was paying I noticed the $ 1 pregnancy tests for sale… I’m just saying.
