Wow all the reds are amazing!!! Wish I lived close by to frequent often. A little pricy for my purse but truly amazing. I normally don’t like Zinfandels but this 2011 was delicious. Loved the Doobie Brothers pictures.

This is my dad’s favorite winery and now I know why first hand. The staff is very helpful and friendly and we happened to be there on a day when they grill local oysters right from San Pablo bay, which were delicious.

A+ goes to the female employee who phoned all over the valley to find a place for me that sold chocolate liqueurs. C– goes to the rest of the employees in the olive oil tasting area who could be bothered to notice my presence or answer questions that I had. Nice location, nice photo memorabilia on the walls,

Stay away. If I could give less than 1 star this place would get it. I’ve never had a more rude experience from a winery much less a business in general. We came with 12 friends. We all wine tasted. We ordered plates of oysters. We bought chocolate and salami. We enjoyed the patio until the tall brunette woman rudely asked us to relocate because she wanted to sit some other people in our seats. She didn’t ask us to shrink to one or 2 tables, she asked us to «go over there». We had just received our food had 2 bottles of wine on the table and she forced us to move to a fire pit as we did not have the 3 bottle minimum. She didn’t care that we spent $ 250 on tastings. Purchased 2 bottles of wine. Bought several plates of oysters which we’re just delivered and we’re holding when she asked us to leave. If this is how you treat out of town guests, we will never return. We met friends from Benicia, San Luis Obispo, Petaluma and Napa. None of them will even return and believe me, they will tell their friends. Worst Sonoma experience ever. Boo BR Cohn. What a disappointment to end our day in Sonoma.

A group of us were enjoying the sun in the patio after 8 of us had finished our wine tasting. We also bought a few bottles of wine and the oysters they sell and just enjoying eating outside. All of a sudden a tall brown haired larger woman who works there(who refused to tell us her name) told us to get up and move because there was another wine tasting party who wanted to sit there. We had just spent all this money and were in the middle of eating and then she treated us like trash by kicking us out like we were thugs. Don’t ever go wine tasting there. I have never been treated so rudely which is amazing after all the money we spent there.

Great wines and property. The wine pourer was knowledgable and friendly. There is Doobie Brothers memorabilia and the property is beautiful. I recommend a stop here when your in Sonoma.

Doobie Brothers and this winery — Google it. This is a beautiful winery in Glen Ellen(about 20 mins north of Sonoma) that has very friendly staff and complimentary olive oil tastings! They also have oysters if you’re in the mood to ‘shell’ out the money for it :) I don’t drink white wines too often but we found a very good one that we’re going to send to my brother in law as a gift. I would highly recommend this place and I would definitely go back during my next Sonoma County visit.

Meh. The olive oils are good, but the wine is just okay. The service is incredible, but the tasting room is crammed. I’d recommend sitting outside if possible.

We stopped there last week for the first time in around 5 years. We missed seeing Moose, the wine dog, but had a great time otherwise. Friendly conversation over wine, great memorabilia for any Baby Boomer who listened to The Doobie Brothers. I liked that we didn’t get pushed into joining the wine club or having more samplings. Nor did they get snooty. It was all explained in a comfortable and friendly way. We enjoy the wine and the location so much.

I attended a wedding here and it was gorgeous. They had busses which took guests down to the ceremony area in the vineyards. Upon attending the ceremony area they had a little table with water and strawberry lemonade. During the ceremony there was some weird noise for awhile. Almost sounded like someone was mowing a lawn, but it stopped. After the ceremony there was cocktail hour with appetizers, drinks and lawn games. The reception was really fun and the food was delicious. I got the vegetarian option which was some sort of ravioli. Party favors consisted of mini olive oil and vinegar. Would love to come back for wine tasting one day!

We are getting married here next weekend. We were a little nervous as half way through our planning we were informed the winery had been bought. We were assured nothing in our initial contract would change. I had a delightful experience talking to Trevor in the Tasting Room who placed our wine order for our wedding(thank you Trevor!). The staff is very busy as fall is an extremely busy time for events there. I feel like we are in very good hands for our upcoming wedding. BR Cohn is an ideal place to get married if you’re looking to really personalize your day. They offer great sites for each portion of your event(ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception). And of course the wine you serve to guests will be spot on. I can update my review after my wedding, but I don’t think I will need to. I am very pleased so far and am looking forward to saying«I Do» at BR Cohn. Thank you, BR Cohn, for being rock stars and helping me plan the perfect day.

Friendly staff and good wines at BR Cohn. I did the Club 6 membership. Be sure to stop by the cottage next door for a tasting tour of their olive oils and balsamic vinegars ! I bottle a couple bottle of the 25 yr aged — really good!

Checked this place out on a friends recommendation. Glad we did. Ended up ordering the 2013 Riesling, 2013 Sangiovese &2013 Barbera along with some olive oil & balsamic. Prices were reasonable & Sal served us well. The grounds are pretty & offered some great photo ops.

Nice wine, cool grounds and all around a fun place to stop. Lots of history with this winery owner. We joined the club and bought a couple bottles for the road. They have concerts here sometimes, not today, but looked like a place to enjoy wine and music. Thanks @sonomachat for the recommendation

My husband and I attended a wedding here over the weekend and had a blast. The winery is really pretty with many options for having an event. The tasting room was open upon guest arrival and the signage was lacking so it was not very apparent where to go. I walked into the TR to find out and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. The cocktail hour was poolside behind the tasting room. Extremely pretty setting, although it seemed a bit tight for the guest list of 140. Everyone was worried about falling in the pool! Dinner was a short trek down a hill to the back of the property behind the actual winery. Gorgeous setting, overlooking rolling hills of vineyards with string lights everywhere. Only downside is that the music curfew here is 10PM so our crowd was a bit bummed to end the party so early. I know the music restrictions in Sonoma County are tight but it was a holiday! Overall, great time and really pretty. We will go back to taste wine due to the surroundings.

Had a great time here. There was a band playing music and some local oysters. We got glasses of wine and sat out on the patio listening to music and chilling. They also have a gift shop where they sell olive oils and vinegars. You can also buy some light bites to go along with your wine there too. The grounds are pretty Everyone was very friendly. Wines are very good.

Nice wine tasting here. You can get this outside of California but it’s a very fun, low key atmosphere with tons of rock memorabilia. We particularly liked the Sangiovese and Chardonnay. Great estate olive oil too. We grabbed some cheese and charcuterie and they were grilling oysters. Had a nice picnic. Fun time!

We had a group event here, and the organizer is a member of the club here. They are so nice, and setup a special place for us to have a tasting. The wines here are excellent, and the staff is awesome. Really nice grounds and views. Great event spaces too. Highly recommend this winery.

Glen Ellen and BR Cohn are so totally worth going off the beaten path a little for. We have had BR Cohn’s Cabs occasionally for many years but had never tasted here. Lovely space, excellent wines of course and nice gift shop too which I rarely notice or recommend. We enjoyed a really interesting tasting with Trevor and learned a great deal about BR Cohn and the Doobie Brothers connection. Looks like a wonderful place for outdoor events and weddings. Lots of Doobie Brothers memorabilia and stories. Completely enjoyed our time and somehow only bought a BR Cohn Rose’ we had never seen and really liked. Be there.

*This is not a review of their wines or wine tasting at the winery. Olive Oil and Vinegar: I’ve been to the BR Cohn Winery a couple of times and have yet to taste their wine! However, I have sampled their selection of olive oil and vinegar and found them to be quite delightful. On my first visit, this we the last stop on our wine tasting tour and we had pretty much reached our limit for that day. However, one friend, who is a wine club member at BR Cohn, insisted that we try some of their other food items. All of us left with multiple purchases. I particularly enjoyed the Meyer lemon olive oil and their 25 year aged balsamic vinegar. Together or apart, the two items make for great dressings on salads, vegetables, fruit and even meat dishes. Charity Concert: The other reason we decided to visit was to inquire about tickets for the summer concert benefiting local charities. All of us decided to purchase general admission tickets for a concert featuring John Waite, Los Lonely Boys, Huey Lewis & the News and Peter Frampton. It had been a long time since I had first heard(or heard of) these bands so this was bound to be a fun concert. The gates open early and it’s best to be there early if you want a good spot on the lawn. My group arrived at 9:30 am and there were quite a few people ahead of us. Once through security, proceed directly to the area where people are lining up to get into the concert venue. Send at least one person to queue up, if others want to want around to the restroom or visit vendor booths. Once the«doors» open, everyone heads straight to their desired spot, open blankets firmly in hand. There is no time for indecision as someone will swoop in to take your stop if you hesitate for even a second. All seats are on a sloped hill. There’s a tree in the middle of the lawn, which provides some much needed shade but those are taken first as it faces the middle of the stage. Note that the food and wine venues are off to the side, so if you wish to walk around a great deal, it may not be best to sit directly in the middle of everything and then have to climb over people. Sunscreen, hats and blankets are a must. Beach/Lawn/Camping chairs(any type of chair that does not sit directly on the ground) and outside food and beverages are not allowed. Not even water. Yes, the security staff do check for this and will leave prohibited items by the entrance for pickup upon exit. Everything must be purchased inside. Most of the food was pretty good and not terribly overpriced. The variety of items to choose from was pretty decent and there were dishes for vegetarians and vegans, albeit limited. The hamburger I ate was better than the one I had paid 2x as much for in a «fancy» restaurant. There were plenty of BR Cohn wines and Lagunitas beer. There is no parking at the winery. Guests are told to park on another site and take a shuttle bus to the winery. This is organized quite well and the process was easy to follow. The view from the winery is amazing. The event was organized very well. The sound was good and the site lines were okay. The vibe was very«mellow». There was plenty of food for all guests and restrooms were a step above your typical port o potty. I really enjoyed the concert. The bands did a great job and there was a good mix of musical genres represented. The Doobie Brothers are scheduled to appear in 2015.
