My husband and I made the decision to visit here due to its proximity to another one of our favorites, Wellington Vineyards, just down the road. The customer service was outstanding; we were given a great feel of Chris’s background and the history of the vineyards. Chris was kind enough to even stop by and introduce himself during our tasting. We walked out with two bottles of Syrah and smiles on our faces — this will be a place to revisit on a future trip.

This was our first stop in Sonoma and it was wonderful. It’s a very small combination tasting/barrel room, but we were the only 2 inside and the wine was very good. They were very friendly, answered all our questions, and gave us great recommendations on other places we could visit. The owner came out and talked to us about his experiences and the winery, and it felt very welcoming.

Great experience wth great wine and a great wine maker. We had Chris guide us through a tasting as we enjoyed his knowledge as a 4th generation wine maker. The tasting room was surrounded by the current aging wine barrels which made for a fun unique experience. Would defiantly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a great stop for their wine tasting day.

Fun, casual place with great wine. Hostess was great. We just stopped in for a quick tasting and bought a few bottles of course! Syrah is yummy. It’s all yummy. Great place!

Excellent winery! The wines are delicious and the owner is really nice. Everything is authentic and the prices are really fair. The degustation will cost you 5 $, and nothing if you buy a bottle(usually between 28 and 35 $). Not a place to miss !

Great very small winery! We enjoyed every single pour. Chris was very personable and was by far the best owner/grower we spoke with. He is a must visit.

Oh dear. Very poor wines — we didn’t even finish the tasting after our whole group agreed it simply wasn’t worth it. Sadly I wouldn’t even call them decent table wines; they just weren’t very drinkable. Try Little Vineyards instead. Consistently good, notably the 2012 Center Stage which was excellent — a very well implemented new-world equivalent of a classic Bordeaux blend.

Very enjoyable wine tasting experience. The tasting fee is very reasonable, waived per bottle purchased. They offer a good selection of wines at very reasonable price points for the high quality of the wines. Customer service was excellent and the tasting room staff were very knowledgeable about the wines. We were pleasantly surprised by this off the beaten path winery. Highly recommend a stop here and we will definitely be back.

I love this winery — all the wines are excellent, and the owner/staff are super nice and very accommodating. It’s a very down to earth winery, and definitely has some of the best syrah around.

Great wine and it was so much fun hanging with Mr. Loxton. It was bottling day but he still took time out to chat and talk about his awesome wine. Really a great place to stop and buy wine. His tasting room is right in the barrel room and bottle room. Its small but has massive taste. You should stop in.

One of my favorite wineries in Sonoma. Small local winery with wonderful wines! Chris, the winemaker is always there and provides tours to guests and is so nice and down to earth. Don’t miss the rosé!

Amazing, unique winery with winemaker on hand much of the time. The rose, reds and dessert wines are all incredible and yet so so reasonably priced. Chris and his staff are all incredibly friendly and talkative — Chris in particular has a cracking sense of humor with no BS. The wine club is also very good — 2 deliveries(x6 bottles) per year which are totally customizable.

Visiting Loxton Cellars was a real treat. We were staying in San Francisco for the week and decided to take a trip into wine country. My group and I had no clue where to start so we looked up places on Unilocal. There were many great options, but when I came across Loxton I kept reading reviews that praised this winery. I also found it helpful that many reviews raved about how this was the perfect spot to check out if you were new to the tasting experience. We arrived in a rush due to some traffic delays out of the city and Lisa was super calming and relaxing. I’ll never forget her calming demeanor and amazing hospitality towards us. We tasted different options and fell in love with them all. She answered all of our questions, whether complex or inexperienced with such charm. Lisa was amazing! Also I just want to add, I was the only one that liked wine. Loxton wines made 3 non-winos believers and they even bought bottles to take home. The vineyard was gorgeous and we even met Mr. Chris Loxton himself. He shared his beginnings in the business and even shared some info about Australia. This was my favorite part of the convo because one day I hope to visit my dream spot(Australia) We left Sonoma with smiles on our faces and bottles to sip back home. I’d recommend this place to anyone. Wether you’re a newbie to the experience or already an expert. Make this a spot to check out. I promise you won’t regret it.

What a wonderful find. They are a TINY winery with tons of very small vintages. Chris, the owner(and doer of all) works the place with two other employees. It’s that small. I’ll be back ASAP!

Very nice winery. The lady pouring the wines was very sweet and knowledgeable. We bought the port. Almost all of their wines are delicious! Worth a stop if you’re in the area.

A California winery run by an Australian winemaker. Everyone here is super friendly! They make you feel welcomed. The tasting is only $ 5 and is waived with any bottle purchase. Super reasonable. It’s not a place you linger… the tasting room is in the cold, sterile cellar. It’s not a pretty winery and there’s no place to sit outside and enjoy the sun. IN A MOUTHFUL: if you’re looking for a quick stop and don’t care about scenary, Loxton is great.

Had a fun, quick, and memorable tasting at Loxton yesterday. The no frills tasting room is located right in the aging cellar among the barrels, giving the tasting experience a quality you might typically attribute to a craft brewery tour(but more personal) Our server Rob had just joined the winery but had a real affinity for its wines and the unique story of its Australian owner. His kind, approachable manner was really appreciated and he definitely taught us a thing or two about wines and the region. The standouts here are definitely the Syrahs — though all were great. Looking forward to returning in the future! (I’d also recommend a quick stop to Wellington, which is right down the road, making this an easy one-two punch)

No frills tasting with yummy port. If you like port, definitely stop by here. The tasting is cool, no frills, with the taster more than happy to give you recommendations in the area. The other wines were about average, nothing too outstanding. PORT! Come here and taste this yummy Australian port! It’s only $ 5 for a tasting, with 5 – 6 wines and tasting size servings.

Great customer service, awesome wine, amazing attitude! I felt like I was at a private tasting! Chris did a great job making us feel at home, answering all the questions we had and providing us his philosophy on winemaking. Definitely will be back again!

One of my new favorite wineries in Sonoma. It’s a small winery, the barrels you inside are all that they produce and its not sold in stores which I prefer, defeats the whole purpose of visiting a winery if its available at Costco or BevMo. The staff is so pleasant and knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Usually you don’t tend to like all the wines on the tasting menu but they wines are perfectly balanced and I liked most of them. I do have to highlight the port which was just right. Ports normally are extremely sweet and I haven’t found one I liked in years and was so pleased when I tried theirs. It’s well balanced and not overwhelmingly sweet, if you like port but don’t want to feel like you’re eating a handful of sugar I recommend getting a bottle from here. Can’t wait to come back for more great wine.
