The majority of my rating is based on the limited size of the gallery. The CC is a one room box, but… it’s free so you can’t complain about the entrance fee. We went the other night and found their space decorated with three artists. One was a sculpture artist that produced some talented figures. The other two were somewhat unappealing, not bad, just unappealing. On your way out of the museum you can treat yourself to five original Andy Warhol’s hanging opposite of the gallery. If you’re feeling more adventurous you can roam the hallways of this building to see quite a bit of student art. Some of it was really good too!

I drove over to the Cleve Carney Art Gallery for the first time to catch an exhibit on Vivian Maier’s photography. It was a bit difficult for me to find, because all of the signs say that the McAninch Art Center is «ahead» but none of the signs actually point to where to turn… those signs are blank.(Helpful, those.) At any rate, the gallery is tucked inside the Mac in a little room that’s hard to miss once you enter the building. I found it on the small side, but it was just enough. Nice ambiance and perfect lighting. I look forward to checking out more shows there in the future.
