Glen Ellyn was my skate park when I went to College of DuPage. The college is conveniently located near the skate park just down Park ave. Anyway, the setup is really straight. It has smooth ramps, some nice boxes(great for long boardslide switchups) and a dual, angled bank ramp that is very fun. On the other side there are several rails and bar boxes on pyramids between long quarter pipes on each end of the park. I would say this is the best built non-concrete skate park in the western suburbs of Chicago and it’s free. Roselle beats it in my opinion, but concrete has it’s downsides too. *No helmet required. Skatepark is actually on the south end of the park, nearer to Nichol way/DuPage Blvd. It is on the way when you get off of Roosevelt to get on Route 53.
