Nice, locally owned running store. The selection of apparel and shoes could be greater. Staff is always very friendly. The variety of shoes wasn’t what I thought. There was maybe 1 – 2 models of shoes in the more popular running brands and then some brands(like sketchers) which I feel is more for causal wear or can be purchased at non-specialty stores. Ultimately, my husband and I had to go elsewhere to get what we wanted/needed.

I only just started doing something approximating running last year, and the previous store I’d gone to has closed. So in search of new shoes, I visited Run Today. I was helped pretty quickly, and they have this nifty foot-mapping thing where the guy called out my high arches and tendency to pronate, so he could help me pick out the right pair of sheos. The store is decent size although the shoe selection doesn’t seem huge. But they did offer to special order a different color if I didn’t like one. :) But I didn’t mind the bright raspberry-lime green shoes I ended up with, and the prices were about what you would expect. Service was friendly, and there was no pressure to buy anything else. The guy did mention a Saturday morning running group that he said has all kinds of people. One thing I will note — there was a treadmill set up off to one side, but I didn’t actually test my shoes on it, I just sort of walked around/jogged in place. I’m not sure if they do that — but perhaps I should have asked. That said, I’m sure I made a good choice in shoes and I appreciated the friendly and local service.

This is the way to buy running shoes. Sherry asked me questions about how much I run and where, and if I have any problems with my feet or knees. She put me on a contraption that identified my foot type, including arch, and then she brought out six different pairs of shoes that she said were a match for my feet. We tried on and walked around in all of them, and then she had me run on a treadmill in four of them. She videotaped me running, and then we watched how my feet struck in each shoe. I not only feel great in the shoes we selected, I have a high level of confidence that they are the best pair for my feet and my running style. Run today has a large selection of brands and models, and at no point did I feel like I was being upsold or maneuvered into a particular shoe for their purpose. Sherry also convinced me that my old shoes are not an acceptable second pair(she said I can wear them when riding a bike!), so I will be buying another pair soon, and I will be buying them from Run Today.

Stopped in today after a 3 day achy foot trade-show… How I wished I stopped in here beforehand! Paul and his staff were super attentive. They scanned my feet to figure out the perfect shoe type. I mainly wanted shoes to start walking more in and these new ones are simply heaven. Thanks so much Run Today! If it’s nice outside, I can’t wait to walk tomorrow!

I recently made a gentleman’s bet with my brother and a friend that I would run a marathon this year. I’m not a huge runner but feel I am athletic enough to get the job done. I started running more regularly and began to experience shin splints. I went into Run Today in order to find new shoes in hopes of curing these pains and was greeted with a friendly smile by a worker named Sherry. She mapped my feet and found I had a neutral stance and then brought out 10 different pairs of shoes for a neutral stance. She had me try them on one at a time and we finally found a pair of Adidas I liked. I ran on a treadmill to confirm the feel of the shoe. I needed a 8 and the smallest they had was a 9. Not to worry though Sherry was able to order the right size and was even able to order a different color for me. Extremely pleased with the service here and would recommend them to anyone.

Great service! I’m a big fan of local running shops because they tend to be owned and employ local runners who I think really get it and can sell and education you on the gear better than associates from big box sporting goods stores. The store employees were very friendly and knowledgeable of about their products. The shop carries a good selection of running shoes, clothing and accessories. I bought a massage stick to use on my finicky ITBs since I didn’t need to buy any more shoes or gear. Overall, nice place and nice people! If you are a runner in the Glen Ellyn/Lombard/Addison area, you should check them out!

So somehow I was talked into coaching Girls on the Run(for those who don’t know, now you know: ) and I don’t run. I have some decent shoes at home but they weren’t working out for me. Ha ha, get it? Working out? Nevermind. Since Run Today supports my husband’s track club(how about I throw another shout-out while I’m at it: ) I decided to give them some business and get a gait analysis to see what my prissy feet need to succeed. The people at Run Today were very nice and accommodating(the salesperson was okay with me vetoing pink shoes no matter how kick ass they are for my feet.) First I stepped on some fancy machine to see what my center of balance was like and also to find out my arch type. Next, the salesperson looked at my shoe treads to analyze what type of pronation I have. These people are like CSIs for shoe crimes. Seriously. Last, I tried on some shoes and when I found the most comfortable pair, I ran on the treadmill and was videotaped to see if the shoes stabilized my overpronation. Analyzation complete. I also got some sweet new socks and some tips on how to keep the nasty away from my feet(blisters, calluses, etc.) The shoe selection isn’t crazy huge, but they can order you shoes if they don’t have what you are looking for. There is also a section for gear but I didn’t really check it out. I’m not sure about price, I’m thinking it’s a little high, but I’m a noob so what do I know? I’ll definitely be visiting Run Today again… especially because I can get $ 25 off for every $ 250 I spend, and I am over half way there already.
