We took friends for dinner on New Years Eve, and dinner was fantastic! We were pleasantly surprised by the selection and portion sizes. And the drinks were fabulous — recommend the Autumn in NY. A wonderful time was had by all. We will be back.

I will never go back to this place. Food was awful, service even worse. These new owners have a lot to learn about how to operate a business. How about starting by being kind to your customers? When you have a table of four buying over priced, improperly cooked food and they approach you to pretty much tell you to leave because they need the table? Yet empty tables all around? No thank you. I’ve been treated better at a diner. Where food was better and didn’t cost 300 bucks!

My husband and I ate here this evening. This was our first visit since GGI changed hands in August. We were fans before, but the new kitchen is phenomenal. The food is «farm-to-table» and everything we tried was first-rate. I had a fabuously well-spiced and complexly seasoned pumpkin soup with a balsamic drizzle for a starter, next the GGI Waldorf Salad with apples, figs, almonds, celery, Bobolink Farm bleu cheese and 2 dressings which I raved about. Next came a pomegranate roasted ½ duckling with chestnut bread pudding which was enjoyable. I would have liked more of a chestnut flavor in the pudding, but it was still good. Lastly, dessert was a poached pear with the aforementioned bleu cheese made into ice cream, garnished with crushed almond brittle crumbs and 2 nice sized pieces. I also drank a lovely French Sauvignon blanc which was redolent of France itself. My husband only ordered the nettle-infused gnocchi with an interesting tomato sauce which I tasted and thought well executed. He had the upside-down crème brûlée with passion fruit couli(and complained that it was upside down…) This also came with a white chocolate shell. I tasted it and loved the result. It is so nice to see this place in good hands and we’re thrilled that there is finally a good place to eat so close to home. We will be back soon.

Nice atmosphere in historic building. Eclectic menu. Reasonably priced but a little on the high side. Very good service and food. Definitely worth trying.

Went to the Glen Gardner Inn this past week. Started with a drink and delicious warm rolls, next crab cake appetizer equal to the best we’ve had in Baltimore. Lobster roll dinner was delicious. No room for dessert this time but definitely next time. Any negative reviews that I have read is the opposite of our experience. Can’t wait to see the place after the remodeling. Best wishes to the new management. We definitely will be back…

Wow. We haven’t been to GGI for a number of years. After meeting/chatting with Chef Laurie at Our Woods Maple booth at Boonton Farm Market we had to go. Started with terrific salad the«Jersey Girl» salad won over this Jersey guy. Perfectly fresh, peaches, greens, heirloom tomatoes and terrific vinaigrette and shaved ricotta salad. Followed by the most intense Pumpkin Spice Soup. I’ve never had anything like it. Terrific, sweet, savory, intensely satisfying. My son’s lobster bisque was equally as good, hints of saffron and tender lobster chunks! My pierogi entrée was delicious paired with Apple/chicken sausage, sweet red cabbage and housemade apple sauce. Sweet, savory and filling. The cheddar pierogi where light and so tasty, Chef Laurie cooked them to perfection. My wife had a fantastic garlic stuffed chicken. Normally I’m not one to order chicken when dining out but this was really good. Farm fresh, tender and cooked to perfection! My son’s crab cakes were delicious and light and my other son, who tends towards simpler fair had a juicy burger with the most awesome, crisp purple potato fries. Service by Fran was impeccable… attentive, well versed on all the dishes she was a wonderful complement to what Chef Laurie and Crew are building. GGI is certainly a place that will be doing great things as time goes on. We will be back!

Success for a romantic date-night dinner out! Attractive setting in the dining room. She had the«Elegant Martini.» I had the«Junipero Gin ‘Body Temp’ Martini — 98.6 Proof.» Nicely mixed. Came in large Martini glasses with little carafes of extra for seconds! We both enjoyed a bowl of Gazpacho. I also had and enjoyed Sautéed Escargot. For entrees, she had the Grilled Salmon and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. Both were excellent. For desert, we shared the cheesecake selection for the day – Orange Creamsicle, I believe. It was a nice finish to a very nice meal and experience. We shall return!

Burger was way overlooked, oysters were overpriced and fishy, Duck La Orange??? What a joke. Guess new owners don’t get it. Will not return. I suggest you drive to the next diner for better food.

One of my favorites. Very romantic atmosphere for an intimate dinner with your love. Can also also be nice night out with close friends. In my opinion, it’s not a family restaurant and I hope it never becomes one. There’s plenty of other places for that. The food here is delicious and different. I love the Tapas option that allows a little bit of everything. The bar area could be a bit bigger and I hope that will be done without losing the charm.

Overall, it was just okay. The service felt very rushed. I had a reservation for a party of six(my wife and four kids — teens and tweens) — and although they all ordered adult meals, we were still rushed as if they wanted to flip the table to a «full tab» party. I absolutely hate their policy of adding a 20 percent tip for parties of six or more. Let the consumer decide the tip… And they auto add the tip on the bar bill. Not cool, even though that is what I would have voluntarily left on my own. But let me decide that. The food was good to poor. My wife had the tile fish, which was flavorful and seemed to be very fresh. I ordered the prime rib for 30 bucks. It was tiny, skinny, and over cooked. I sent it back, and got the same sized cut that was cold(like, «just out of the fridge» cold). Perhaps a joke from someone in the kitchen? And then I was forced to leave a 20 percent tip… My kids’ meals: Fillet mignon(x2), another(different) fish entre, and chicken. All looked and tasted pretty good. This place is close and convenient, so I will give it another try. But, I really hoped to love this place. Oh well.

This place is romantic inside but a stuck up environment. The owners were very nice and inviting. Our bread came out frozen in the center and the reorder they sent out was frozen too. Our meal was good but small portions. The prices are extremely high for what you get. I was very offended when I opened our check to see they posted a statement asking guest to please try to pay with cash because the economy makes it hard to pay credit card fees. The prices they charge they should not be putting a statement like that for its customers. I don’t recommend it!!!
