Love this place. The Saturday wine tastings are fun and informative. I fall in love with a new wine almost each tasting. The staff is super, helpful, knowledgeable. And as another Unilocaler noted, prices from the very, very reasonable to the ‘aw heck, it’s a special occasion!”. Go there. We’re moving to Charlotte and I am REALLY hoping to find a place even close to Beekman Wines. Bottums up!

With big box wine supercenters like Bottle King and Stew Leonards in the area, it’s good to know that places like this still exist. The employees are very knowledgeable and will go above and beyond to ensure that you get what you want. The store is decent in size, most of it is comprised of wines however they also carry a limited selection of liquor and beer. They offer Saturday wine tastings and will even deliver locally.
After a recent trip to Napa, I emailed Joel at Beekman’s to see if there was a way to order a bottle that I had tried on a tour at a winery. I was unaware that wineries have state-​by-​state contracts in terms of distribution which Joel made known to me, but was able to track down a very similar vintage to the one that I fell in love with after letting me know that if the bottle I wanted was not in the «wine bible», then it couldn’t be brought in. Being that I live in Pennsylvania and the liquor control board (basically the Satan of the liquor world) has even more strict rules on ordering wine, Joel went ahead and ordered a case of the wine and had it waiting for me when I had my first chance to get home. Only major downside to a place like this? They get to know you on a personal level and when your parents have a running account with them, can’t try to charge it to the house. Oh well, a small price to pay for the service you receive.

They have an incredible selection of interesting wines (especially French) in all price ranges. And they are very helpful. Not at all pushy or snooty. Not the place to go if you only want well-​known brands or if price is all you care about.
