Moved to Glen Rock over a year ago and this is our favorite place for takeout. The family who owns the restaurant is really nice and welcoming and the food is delicious. Love supporting a local business and getting a great meal.

The place was disorganized walking in was the first impression. The tables need to be revamped back to Turkish style. Going to the bathroom is like a mission into enemy lines cardboard boxes and mess stacked to half the wall. The back is erie and the bathrooms were not well kept. In fact last person who used the bathroom had left urine but it hadn’t been painted or cleaned in a while. The family was there and they focused on making their own food vs cooking our food properly. The family is beautiful and all but the father was both nice and very arrogant in saying his place is there for 9 years and not trying to work on removing the mess from the front tv and wires dangling from the fridge. In back of the counter etc. He promised me the food did not have too much garlic yet it did. We returned the food because it was not cooked properly and he put the food we ate from back on the grill vs making a new batch. The mixed grill is over priced for the amount of food that was given. There was no offer of refund or discount or anything when the food was bad. When I first ordered and I asked for the rice not to touch my meat the owner mumbled under his voice. In that moment I should have left. As your reading this do not get upset yet clean the place up throw the cardboard out haunting the hallway. I give a 4 – 6 for the food out of 10 and that is a high review. They need to change their sign and start focusing on their image and giving hot plate of food. Fix the pirate planks going to the bathrooms in the back and keep the bathrooms clean. Walls and all. I was with a client and I really wished it was a better experience since they were looking for a home in this area close to middle eastern restaurants and this was a step backward in their search. The last thing I like to add is to get a water filter and spend the money for tap water not to be filled from the sink and taste like metal. Don’t be too proud and say how comfortable you are doing because you have been getting by just on being lucky to be there and now start thinking like a true business man and family restaurant style. I have over 30 years experience in middle eastern food and over 4 restaurants taking them from nothing to making them the most busy they ever been. When you serve your food make sure you serve it presentable. Good Luck I hope you work hard at making the changes. Thank you for your service and god bless your beautiful family.

$ 10.95 for lunch is a bit pricey for a small scoop of babaganoush and hummus that went along with the entrée. Some of the lettuce in the salad was brown. I have had much better hummus. It was neither creamy nor tasty. It seemed to be watery, just blended up chic peas, lacking Tahini and proper seasoning. I am generous in giving 3 stars only because the yogurt sauce was tasty. The owner/cook did not accept my criticism regarding the Hummus and made me feel that I was the problem because everyone loves his hummus. Well not everyone. I’ve eaten a lot of hummus from a lot of different restaurants from different ethinic groups including homemade, his was definitely lacking.

AMAZING. Recently moved to town and have been exploring different restaurants… Many decent meals at different nice places, but tonight we decided to try a no-frills meal at Chicken Kebab… seemed like a healthier fast-food option. The reviews online echoed the great take-out options. So we arrived… and saw that it was an actual restaurant. A mom and pop restaurant… family run… and fresh cooked. It was DELICIOUS and we almost feel that their strip-mall location and name«chicken kebab fast food» is severely misleading. We decided to sit-in and make it a dining experience– what a great call! They are so friendly, service is fast, and you can tell they take such pride in their home-made cooking. I ordered the chicken kebab with rice and the husband ordered a lamb, beef and falafel combo over rice… both came with salad, both came with delicious pita bread and the best tzatsiki sauce ever, and then though we were stuffed, we ordered baklava and rice pudding desserts to go.(Omg an hour later at home, those were incredible too!) We feel duped by all of the other restaurants that we shelled out so much money for over the past few weeks as we’ve been settling in… and yet the most unsuspecting place delivered the best meal that we’ve had in a long time. When you want a healthy, delicious, affordable, friendly and convenient dinner, come here. So happy to have found this place!

Best Turkish food in the area, hands down. Juicest chicken kebabs ever. The owners are wonderful people and are attentive to all your needs. Be sure you try the Turkish coffee after your meal and the fresh rice pudding.

First time here and I was not disappointed. I had the lamb gyro and it was delicious the amount of meat was insane. The only regret was that I did not taste the spinach pie there’s always next time.

Probably one of the best gyros I had. I ordered the chicken gyro and it was AMAZING. They stuffed it with a ton of chicken and veggies. Their sauce is awesome too. Go check this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

Hands down best gyro around. People there are very nice and welcoming. The lamb kabob top notch cooked medium the way I asked. I also love the baklava. Only place I’ll ever eat it. Most places just drench it in syrup and that’s all you taste, not this place. Love this place

Family run joint — one of the daughters will likely take your order if you call for takeout.(No delivery). Nice family but everything is always unorganized, so check your order before you leave. Food is good — authentic falafel, gyros and kebabs. «Small salad» with chicken is huge!

I have had no problems with this place. I only take out from here and the food has always been good. The hummus and babaganoush appear to be homemade. The falafel is yummy and gyros are very good. The chicken lemon soup is a bit too lemony for me but if lemon is your thing go for it.

The week I came here, I managed to order chicken and hummus at 4 different restaurants in 6 days. It wasn’t intentional and I didn’t realize that I basically ate the same thing at 4 different places until later. Anyways out of those places, this is probably the one I am least likely to return to. It wasn’t bad but it also didn’t impress me enough to return. The normal menu seems quite over priced(similar prices to what I’ve seen at much nicer places in NYC) but the lunch menu is more reasonable. I ordered one of the lunch specials and it came with chicken kebab, hummus, baba ganoush, and a small falafel. It also came with soup or salad(I got the vegetable soup) and some pita. As mentioned, the food was decent but that’s all. I did like the variety of the special. The hummus and baba ganoush weren’t great. The falafel was probably the best thing but was pretty small. Service was kind of slow too so that’s another reason to not return for lunch. As I said, the dinner prices seem kind of ridiculous so wouldn’t really suggest that either.

I have been searching for a good Mediterranean/Turkish place in the area and went here because of the 4 star Unilocal rating and mostly good reviews. Huge disappointment. No air conditioning, with no windows open and no fans on, so the place was stuffy and uncomfortable. We walked in and weren’t greeted by anyone, nor did anyone come over to our table within the first 10 minutes. We took our order and the food was ok, nothing special. I got the falafel, hummus, and chicken kabob dinner platter to share with my boyfriend. Overall, the décor/atmosphere, service, and quality of food was just not worth the price. I will not be going back and honestly I’m surprised it has such a good Unilocal rating.

I’ve been a customer here for 7 years and have always enjoyed it, until last night. Besides the spinach pie being entirely spinach let me warn you about the following greedy bastards you have serving you: I ordered the kabob dinner special which came with no side of veggies at all, just meat and rice. I asked for a small side dish of some diced tomato. Waitress is all confused like I asked for a side of eyeballs. Next she offers a salad for 10 dollars… I said no I just simply want a side of diced tomatoes. She brings out about 5 pieces of diced tomato and cucumber: perfect! Here is how greedy this place is: I get charged 5 dollars for that side plate! It was not seasoned, not a salad, no dressing, nothing but about 15 cents worth of sliced raw vegetables! This is how they treat their customers that have been around for nearly a decade!!! You have been warned! PS I just got a new phone and I was so eager to warn the world from my anger that I downloaded this app first just to write this. Chicken kabob you are not gonna last

Sometimes you go somewhere new that just opened and really root for them to make it. It was like this when I first started going here almost as soon as they opened. The owner and his wife are more than friendly, happily greeting guests and making sure that they’re happy. Their young daughters are often there lending a hand and adding to the friendly ambience of the place. The food is consistantly good with one exception. Their vegetable soup is epic to the point of being one of the best I have ever had. I have read some reviews where the people claim that it’s expensive which is only true comparing it to fast food restaurants. My usual tab there for two is under $ 30, putting it firmly in the 1 $ range, certainly not $$ and for the price and service, it’s a bargain.

I thought this place was completely delicious. The restaurant is dry, but with the liquor store down the minimall complex, it’s an easy fix. A large group of us had a couple of hummus plates to share, donor and chicken kebab. I think we ate our weight in pita bread. We also loved the lassi and baklava. I happen to love Turkish food, and thought everything quite tasty. The atmosphere is friendly with the head chef/owner chatting us up; he was throughly entertained by my father’s attempt to order in and remember the little bit of Turkish he learned when we were living in Germany. There was a TV with a soccer game on, but it switched to the evening news while we were there. On a tuesday night it was not busy, but I did notice a constant stream of takeout orders so it’s clear this place has a following.

Had the lentil soup with hummus and a Greek salad. The soup was amazing. I can’t taste much due to this awful cold and fever but this soup was amazing. It was so flavorful and piping hot. Loved it. Everyone else got hummus platters and pitas. They do a great job at Chicken Kebab.
