The reason why I am giving Kim 1 star is because of her customer service. She did my hair great and she was fast that I will give her. My concern is her lack of professionalism. I made an appointment with her for January 9, 2016, the appointment was made back in November 2015. When I asked a few days ago for a confirmation of my upcoming appointment she told me that I was not on her schedule. I asked how that could be when I made it back in November and she tells me that she is no longer at the shop where I made the appointment. I asked her how was I to know when she didn’t notify me? Then she wanted to give me a 1:30. appointment because of her error she didn’t carry over my appointment to her new establishment. I guess because I am a new client I was just forgotten about. However, it would seem to me since it was a mistake on her part the right thing would have been, was to tell me to come in at 10:00 which was my original appointment and have the other person that she gave my appointment to come in at 1:30. I had already had my day planned out just like stylists have their appointments planned out so 1:30 was not convenient for me. When I asked her what happened to my appointment she just said, «I will call you back» and just left me hanging no call back no nothing. Good thing I hadn’t already taken my hair down. That to me was really messy and foul and you are supposed to be a professional. Then Blacks want to know why their establishments are not supported better by Blacks, this is clearly an example of why.

I’ve been going to Kymmy for almost a year now. I’m on my fourth crochet install and have been more than satisfied with each visit! This protective style is awesome if you’re looking for something that is low maintenance but still fabulous. Kymmy was servicing her clients from home but recently relocated to a salon in Glen Burnie, which is super convenient! I love that Kymmy is very flexible and so accommodating. I suggest booking with Kymmy if you are interested in healthy, protective, fab hair care &styling! FYI: When considering what hair type to purchase for your crochet install, please take into consideration that color hair tends to NOT manage as well as your darker colors.

Amazing braidless weave. As Kymmi said, it took a couple days for it to do what I wanted. Definitely going back to her.

Pro: I really love the way my looks and I’ve gotten tons of compliments. The service was fairly quick and not too much fuss. Cons: –This isn’t a salon, it’s her house. There isn’t really parking available, so I had to wait for the person before me to finish so that I could use her parking pass. — The address here, is not the address she’s actually at. I thought it would be a half hour drive and it turned out to be over an hour. –She cut my wefts. I’m a little worried if I need to reuse them but it may not be too big a deal –She was pretty sluggish the whole time. I got the feeling she didn’t feel like being there and she didn’t want me there. She seemed kind of tired and standoffish. This may be a personal thing, but I usually expect those who do my hair to be more outgoing and upbeat. I had to take out a book just so that the silence wasn’t as awkward. — Most irritating thing for me was that she doesn’t take American Express. When I called her the day of the appointment, I specifically asked if she took Amex, and she said yes. Then when I got there, Paypal didn’t take it, so I had to go to the nearest ATM and it was sort of a hassle. Moral of the story: Pretty good product(not sure yet, I’ll see how my hair is in a few weeks), pretty poor customer service. ****UPDATE****- My hair started to look terrible two weeks after having it done. Unacceptable for such an expensive sew-in. I bought very high quality Indique hair and it was ruined because she cut the bundles. Like absolutely, positively unusable. The brief pro was widely overcome by the numerous cons.

Got Crochet braids before my vacation to the Dominican Republic in hopes of not having to deal with my hair. It was a bit difficult to get in contact with Kymmy(2 e-mails and 2 phone calls), but once I did I was able to setup my appointment. It took about 2.5 hours to complete my crochet braids with Fretress 22′ Deep Twist hair. While getting my hair done, the atmosphere was comfortable, we watched«Orange is the New Black» and spoke casually. Her daughter assists her with her clients but prepping the hair while Kymmy braids the client’s real hair. My hair began shedding and falling out like it was no ones business a mere two days after having it done. I called Kymmy and she reassured me that this was normal but if I was unhappy with the results, to come back and she will tighten everything up or add more hair if necessary. I wanted to but in reality, I worked TWO hours from her and lived an hour from her so I was not really up for the drive. It’s a bit disappointing because it took me quite some time to get there and I did pay the full $ 130(hair not included) but can’t complain too badly because she did offer to fix them. Her style is a bit different. She does not braid your hair with synthethic hair but rather with yarn which I found very odd. I probably will not return to Kymmy as I am not sure if it was her method of crocheting or the hair I used(which had very high reviews btw), but the shedding and full pieces actually falling out were just too much. With just two bundles in my head, Lord knows I looked like Smeagal from Lord of the Rings by the time I returned from my vacation. Also, was not particulary fond of how the front was done, I don’t believe it was a good braid pattern because it looked extremely fake, almost like a wig just sitting on my head when I’ve seen other styles where the braids in the front are small and in a specific design so that the hair can be pulled back and worn in versatile ways. Well, maybe it was my fauklt for not saying anything BUT, I thought it was a given. All in all, Kymmy was very nice and quick with her styling(the most gentle braider I’ve ever had… which also leads to the braids loosening up quickly), and may be great for others but is just not the stylist for me. Also, I will say that upon taking my hair out, my hair was so tangled in the yarn she braided my hair with, I had to cut some of my hair. I was NOT happy about this. Hope this helps!

I’ve been searching all over(YEARS) for a stylist who promotes healthy hair and I found hair’s best kept secret — Kymmy! After experiencing some damage — I knew I wanted to give my hair a much needed break. Going to Kymmy is just what I needed! She takes great care of my natural hair using her conditioning methods and enhances it with the Mekani braidless technique. She has great hours for us busy bodies AND you are in and out which is also a HUGE plus. I love it! I highly highly recommend!

Kymmy and her Assistant Lynette were truly a delight. Kymmy was very professional and thorough. My hair was perfect and was done within 2 hours of my appointment. No waiting, no pain, and styling was perfect.

Kymmy does all types of weaves and extensions that look so natural! She gives great recommendations and options for you to choose from. And her techniques are done to last while keeping the look fresh. She also takes time to STYLE after weaving– not just a quick bend with the curling iron and comb-through. The best part is the way that she cuts!!! The shop atmosphere is great, Kymmy gives you one-on-one attention and is very professional and friendly.
