Best thin crust pizza on the North Shore. Handcut fries also the best I’ve had ANYWHERE. Pot roast sandwich is to die for. Honestly this is great food. As for the complaint about the turkey and veggie burgers I unfortunately have to agree — the turkey burger is disgusting and I wish they would either change it or take it off the menu. But really if you’re going to a place like Dewey’s you’re fooling yourself if you think you’re going to eat«healthy» anyway so why bother with the faux burgers when the real deal is so much better? That said their salads are good too.

this place is pure trash and unsanitary, cook at home and stay away! its only a matter of time before someone gets sick.

This place is AWESOME! I’m obsessed with their cheese fries. Their burgers are great also. If you are ever looking to lunch in Glencoe, I highly recommend you come to Dewey’s!

What I love about this place, besides that I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried, is that they have actual bottles of mustard on the table instead of tiny packets hidden away, and the Cholula sauce on every table. I’m a little embarrassed to say that my favorite thing to eat is a plate of naked fries(reasonable, at $ 3) with globs of mustard and cholula sauce all over it. Delicious! I’ve tried a few other things, like salads, and sliders. I have no complaints. Of course, there will be loud kids here, especially around lunch, and dinner too… and in between. Well, what did you expect? I recommend it for a casual lunch or dinner, or just a mad hankering for fries. I do wish they had some cheap coffee; it doesn’t have to be super good. I would love to be able to buy a medium cup for a dollar here.

Terrible food, terrible service and too many Loud irritating kids screaming throughout the duration of your meal.

Horrible. We could not eat the food, and had to leave it and go to apple a day instead. The Dewey turkey burger is a large oval, flat and highly processed, very fine-textured, commercially prepared inedible horror. Is there such a thing as turkey pink slime? If there is, one would suspect that that is a main ingredient in this patty. Veggie burger was passable, but again, because one meal was not edible, we left. Really sad, because we need more decent places to eat in Glencoe.

Family Friendly environment with good food at reasonable prices, convenient location, friendly staff, and if its nice outside you can eat out at the tables on the sidewalk(great for the kids if they get a bit restless). Being local to the area, this is definitely in our routine of places.

I have been to Dewey’s several times and was excited about this place. I have had the turkey burger many times and it has been pretty good. However I recently had it and it seemed like it went from a fresh formed Turkey burger to a pre-formed oval dense turkey burger they just heat up in the microwave… It was really disappointing. it is a great place for kids….

i would rate the food 7 out of 10. but the SERVICE, THESERVICE!!! is the worst i’ve ever had. the first time i went with my sister and my friend, the cashier did not say«hello» or «thank you» which i thought was pretty odd especially for Glencoe, and i’ve lived here for 10 years. my sister and friend ordered the same burger but got different toppings, in fact my sister’s burger had only the meat, cheese, and bread??? once again, really strange. when the waiter brought us our food he was like«Wassup ladies, who this food for??» I understand he was hispanic and i get the language barrier but you dont fuckin greet customers like that ever. you say HI or HELLO – that’d be enough! i went in there the other day only to be greeted by a grumpy cashier who did not say HELLO or THANKYOU, NOTEVENONCE! this really bugs me alot having worked customer service jobs most of my life. you dont treat the customers like shit or disregard them, and you dont rush them to order quicker because you’re bored(there was no line behind us!!) then i asked what pizzas do you guys have and the guy was like«well its right up there on the menu» all rude, i mean you couldnt even open your lazy mouth to utter like 10 – 12 words? seriously? if this was chicago, i would still consider it shitty service but thats city standards. this is fuckin Glencoe for fucks sakes. we have higher standards here, the environment is cleaner and even the cops are nicer! seriously Dewey’s, you guys have potential, but train your staff right or just hire me to do it.

First time eating there today. While the food was decent, I kinda felt uncomfortable being there bc everyone else was there with their kids and I was there with a friend. Maybe I’ll go back again during a time when the kids are in school, i.e. a weekday afternoon.

Tempting to give it 5 stars but not quite there yet. Eaten quite a few things from there, burgers, polish sausage, pizza, and salads. All very good for the area, actually probably the one of the best in the northshore area. The guys who work there are pretty nice. From word of mouth, the only complaints i’ve heard is the lack of attention is the biggest problem. People waiting for their food to brought to them when they are in the kitchen joking around and food getting cold. But i’ve personally never seen that. One of the few places serving merkt’s cheddar, makes me reminisce of paradise pup in des plaines. yummy. If they were to add an item, to make a loaded french fry basket with merkts cheddar, sour cream, and bacon bits would be a killer seller. I’ll be a repeat customer for sure.

Sigh. Wasn’t the owner aiming to bring city standards to Glencoe? It’s mediocre. They don’t even offer a veggie burger. Instead, you get a $ 9 iceberg lettuce salad as a healthy alternative. Our list vist resulted in a 30 minute wait. They weren’t even busy. C’mon, Glencoe. Let’s raise our standards!

Really juicy and tender pot roast(shredded) sandwich and they sprinkle cheese on top. Served on a fresh egg brioche bun. Cheeseburger was decent We had the sea salt caramel gelato and it was very smooth. Will definitely go back and try other dishes. Friendly staff.

OK so we tried Dewey’s again. Ordered two burgers with everything. Although they were absolutely delicious(LOVE the Merkt’s cheese, especially with the fries!), one arrived with only lettuce and tomato. We looked at the receipt afterwards and it turns out the teenage cashier entered the order wrong. Not sure how you can screw up two identical orders, but he did. Food quality is definitely above Vernon’s and other area burger joints, but we are now 0 for 4 on order accuracy here. Get it together, guys.

A great addition to Glencoe. I was only at Vernon’s a few times at most and don’t remember it much. My kids got the Mac n Cheese and a Hot Dog. I had a Cheeseburger with Merkt’s cheese on it. Anything that has Merkt’s on it is amazing!!! The menu is pretty standard for a «Chicago Deli» Plus others things and salads for the North Shore moms. It’s also great for kids.

Deweys is a great family eatery and, yay for mom and dad, retained the liquor license that Vernon’s had. It is ultra-casual and the kids can run around no problem. Pros: Great burgers and dogs at good prices — they are not trying to be something they are not. Love the Merkts cheese with the cheese fries — ala Michaels. Real nice staff Cons: Except for a much less ambitious menu and a nice facelift, it really is not that all different than the recently closed Vernon’s in the same space. But, that should not chase anyone away. ..

We’ve been waiting for Dewey’s to open since Vernon’s closed. It was well worth the wait! We’ve been there a couple of times in the first week and everything we tried was awesome! The one thing I was surprised about was the portion/size of the Chicken Vesuvio sandwich — too small, it tasted great just a very small sandwich. Dewey’s is a heaven send. Food is great. Staff is great. Prices are fair. It’s just the right speed if you have kids. Way, way, way better than the Red Hen down the street.(I mean that in every aspect — staff, food, service etc…) Don’t Miss It!

My toddler: «Mommy I want to go back to doodie!» Me: «What? you made a doodie?» Toddler: «I want more mac n cheese & ice cream at doodie!» Me: «You have mac n cheese & ice cream in your doodie?» Once I FINALLY realized she was saying Dewey’s and not doodie it all made sense because I wanted to go back too! We haven’t lived in Glencoe very long now, but based on the excitement of Glencoe residents we really needed a new kid friendly restaurant like this Dewey’s. Guildhall* has been a bit hit for fine dining, but now we have somewhere to take the kids too! They have a fab kids menu(mac n cheese, cheese tenders, hot dogs and hamburger sliders). The portions are pretty big for little ones; it took 3 meals for my daughter to finish her mac and cheese(with some help from mom). As for adults they’ve got some good options too: hot dogs, hamburgers and salads. I went w/the asian chicken salad and was quite pleased. The service was prompt. My daughter only had to ask me 3 times«where’s my mac and cheese» before it appeared in front of her, along w/some delicious fries. I helped her with those too. And of course we made room for some homers ice cream on our way out. It was a ton of ice cream so I do wish they had a small kids serving option, but possible in due time. Welcome to the neighborhood Doodie! Uh, I mean Dewey’s! — — — — — – *

Just got back from Dewey’s. So happy they are here! Great place for families and kids. Had the Chinese Chicken Salad — portion was large and tasted delicious. Boys all got the Dewey Burger — they loved it. Fries were yummy and not too salty. Staff was attentive and space is refreshing. We got ice cream and gelato on our way out. A great new place in Glencoe to please the whole family.

Ask anyone, Dewey’s is a much needed addition to Glencoe & Highland Park communities. It’s a fresh casual upbeat burger, hot dog, sandwich, pizza and salad place. The menu has something for everyone. AND Bonus they serve beer & wine! We went on 7⁄8 opening day. They are still working on speed of orders but the customer service was excellent & I know this will not be an issue for long. The Merlo’s Salad was fresh, delicious & huge! The kids loved the hot dogs & fries. Their ice cream & gelato were scrumptious! Between the nice menu & cordial neighborhood customer service I think they may need to expand soon! Welcome to the neighborhood Dewey’s we are so glad you are here!
