Armscraft Construction

Edgar is the principal of Armscraft Construction, and he worked with us on a complete renovation of our two-​story townhouse.
They did every imaginable upgrade to our home: a kitchen remodel with a new island and a custom built-​in laundry/​pantry area; all three bathrooms, each of which involved moving existing plumbing to new locations and involved installing trickier fixtures such as a wall-​mounted vanity, wall mounted sinks, a concealed European toilet tank, wall mounted faucets, frameless glass; installed and stained hardwood flooring and new tile in the kitchen/​entryway/​fireplace; new baseboard moulding throughout; new moulding/​casing around all windows and doors; crown moulding; new fireplace mantel; a barn door; over 20 recessed lights and other decorative lighting fixtures; installed a new electrical breaker panel and rewired the entire house.
So, to say the least, we had a lot of work done. For the kitchens and bathrooms in particular, we did a lot of reconfiguration, and Edgar was a very good partner to us in coming up with ideas and creative solutions to open up small spaces and make every square-​foot useful. (In some areas, he extended walls and modified existing architectural elements to make things work.) He has a very good eye for detail and design, and understood the clean and contemporary look we were shooting for. He cares about the little things and approaches challenges with a positive attitude and as a problem-​solver. He is also very accessible by e-​mail/​text/​phone, and is good with communication. I found his prices to be reasonable, and I like that he quotes you for the labor, so that we bought the materials we wanted and we were in charge of our costs. (He did refer us to good sources for cabinets, countertops, tile, etc. that were well-​priced. He got a good discount for us on our countertops too.) He also did a lot of extras that I am sure other contractors would charge more for. Really, there were no surprises on costs.
I would recommend him for a job of any size, and wouldn’t hesitate to buy another fixer-​upper, knowing what Edgar and Armscraft can do. He is very trustworthy and stands by his work.
