He forced me into braces when I was 12, despite my problems being cosmetic. His nurse told me «Don’t you want the boys to think you’re pretty?»
My gums reacted poorly to the braces and became swollen. I tried many things to ease the swelling but nothing worked. I was told it’d go away but it never did.
When I got my braces removed, he told me «Well, the braces didn’t change anything. In fact, they made your teeth worse.» My brother had a similar experience (his teeth immediately reverted back to being crooked, despite using a retainer)
I’m 21 now. My teeth are basically ruined. One of my teeth had this ball of cement put on the bottom to «cure [my] overbite» but it didn’t. That tooth became weak from the cement and is now broken. My gums are ruined, my teeth are damaged and ugly, and I’m in constant pain with nothing I can do.
Is this what he and his nurses consider ‘pretty’?
By all means, avoid this man.

When I got my braces off, they left glue on my teeth. I noticed and went back later to have it removed.
One of his nurses, while getting the glue off my teeth, slipped and cut my tooth with a grinder. It was painful. An obvious straight chipped gash on that tooth was there. The tooth had extreme sensitivity.
I went back yet again. When I pointed it out and ask that it be fixed, the doctor said, «No that’s not from our instrument, I don’t know what that’s from. This instrument won’t cut through teeth. Maybe poor hygiene.» [Cuts through cement glue on teeth but won’t cut through enamel? Bullcrap].
I tried to reason and get him to own up to the truth, but he refused. The discussion got a bit loud, but I was civil. I believe this man is a scoundrel. No integrity.
At a time when I was making 10/​hr it hurt awfully to pay another dentist to fix this (more than a week’s pay for me). Burke could have done it for free since he, like many dentists, have a higher income than I did. It would have been so easy for him to do the right thing. Bastard.
