great little library. usually quiet unless there is a children’s activity going on but all-around great place. only open on Wednesday and Saturday and is not a big library but they have a pretty good selection of kids books.

I have so many great childhood memories of this library that is oddly enough nestled in the residential Chevy Chase hills of Glendale/Pasadena. Kind of strange it’s smack in the middle of a residential area, but all the better for residents nearby because it’s kind of like a quiet oasis only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Going to the library to read and check out books with Mom every Saturday or on a Wednesday«just because» was pretty much the starting point of getting my geek on. 8-D With that said, this isn’t the ideal place to do research because the book selections here are not very large. However, I think it’s still a good place to read for leisure or even better, to bring children to read. I remember there was a decent collection of books for children, from toddlers to grade school. Of course, it doesn’t beat the larger children’s collection room at the main Glendale public library, but it’s not so bad at Chevy Chase. I wonder if the giant plush caterpillar in the reading area is still around… *Sigh* Sitting here at the university library and thinking about reading a gazillion books for fun as a kid is making me very nostalgic, which in turn, prompted me to think about the Chevy Chase Public Library. Time sure as hell flies.
