My wife took me to Epic after a good experience she had. The tacos were good but a bit on the high side. We waited over twenty minutes for six tacos. Not going back. Good luck to this place. Can’t expect them to be around much longer with service like this.

Was excited to try this place after reading the positive reviews. We lucked out with seating since there are only 2 tables that can accommodate 4 people. Four of us ordered 3 tacos each with 3 bottled drinks, chips, salsa and a small side of guacamole. I have to say I wasn’t expecting to pay close to $ 60 and still ended up feeling hungry afterwards. Portions are not that big for the price. Our favorite was the pork belly carnitas. The shredded beef, pulled pork and adobe chicken were just so-so. The asada beef was pretty good — just not sure if it’s worth $ 5.

Have heard such good reviews from family and friends about this place so I had to give it a try. Went with my niece and we both loved the place. Got the fish taco and it was amazing. Not greasy and they customized my order due to me being very picky and they had no qualms about doing so. My niece got the pull pork tacos and she said they were really good. While we waited for our order we got to color skulls and have to say we totally loved it. Once done we handed them in and they put them up on the wall. Very cool. Place is definitely a great place for a family to go. Recommend it

We ordered 5 different tacos along w/the chips and salsa. Everything was so fantastic. Tacos were substantial and not measly. The music was also perfect; I didn’t want to leave. ETS is a refreshing, hip and exciting addition to the otherwise tan minivan-ness of Montrose.

Chips and salsa, bomb. Pork belly carnitas, asada steak and cod tacos are awesome. Definitely coming back. This place will grow big real soon if they keep this up. Put Montrose on the map.

**3.5 stars for Epic Tacos** We don’t have many taco places in this area so I was excited about their arrival in town! I went on a weekday after work and ordered 3 tacos(chicken, shredded beef, and pork belly). The total was ~$ 11. The shredded beef and chicken taco were just ok. The amount of meat was generous but it is definitely pricier than street tacos in LA. My favorite was the pork belly taco. The meat was tender, salty, and had a hint of sweetness. I definitely recommend this flavor over any of their other tacos. I’d come back but probably just for the pork belly.

What can I say… Not so epic at all. I ordered the carne asada taco which was $ 4.00 and potato taco $ 2.75. Carne asada was okay not something I would go out of my way for. Potato taco was again okay. What killed me was the salsa! Not spicy at all and no taste. Needless to say I was disappointed to say the very least. I work across the street and I really wanted to find a good local joint to walk to and enjoy some good tacos. My suggestion to this place is bring some more variation to the menu and kick up the spice. Also, please get an ice machine.

I originally gave Epic Taco only one star. To be fair, I changed to three. I have been to Epic 3 times. Each time I ordered the pork belly tacos. Well 3 strikes your out due to the large amount of fat and very small amount of meat. After removing the fat, the small amount of remaining meat was terribly dry. In all honesty, the tacos I received were not only unhealthy but absolutely inedible. Truly disgusting. And I did not order bacon tacos nor did I expect the meat to be so under cooked. I will not be back and will not be recommending to my friends and family. If you happen to feel the way I do about my health, you may not want to go to Epic Taco either. Sorry… but this was MY experience only.

First of all let me tell you that this place is an awesome place to eat. The reason why I am giving this place one star is because of their seating arrangement. I’m a family of four and when they have three tables and when they have two people sitting at a park bench table for four and there are two table seats empty we just decided to walk out because we can’t even eat inside the restaurant. Every time we are there we spend around $ 70 and this has happened three times already. I’ll try one more time but after that I won’t be going back. Unless you want your food to go then go there if not don’t go there. Get your food to go.

Great tasting tacos! Fresh n Quality. It is definitely great to have a small joint in the neighborhood rather all those generic franchise food places.

Hoo lee wow… The tacos here really blew my mind. I could go on and on but there is no need. Epic is a perfect word to describe the tastes. So far I’ve tried(in order of best to still so good), pork belly, carnitas, pollo, salmon poke and yam. Chips and guac that somehow compliment and stand alone. A few more seat options would be great — tables that are easier to group together or separate. But no real complaints — all praise.

So fucking good. Epic taco for sure. I had three of the pork belly carnitas tacos, and their chips and salsa was fucking amazing. The music is dope, listened to Clash while making love to the tacos!

Pork Belly Tacos. Perfectly cooked. Two tacos were just enough for me, though I could have probably gone with three. PARKING: Street. Free for 2 hours.

It’s a nicer, more expensive type of mexican restaurant. I only really looked at the tacos and saw that each one was about $ 4. The tacos are decent sized for the price. I really enjoyed the carne asada taco. The meat was REALLY good and tender and very flavorful. I would definitely come back for this one. I think they put Parmesan on it or something but it complimented the tacos very well. The poke one was decent but I probably wouldn’t get it again.

New school tacos that haven’t completely forgotten their traditional roots. Some people have commented about quantity/price. I came in very hungry this afternoon, ordered 3 tacos and was filled up. These tacos are pretty generously filled! 3 tacos will run ya about $ 12, which seems fair considering the ingredients are of a high quality. I can think of a number of ‘fast casual’ places that are charging that and delivering quite a bit less bang for the buck. This is good stuff!

Great location across the coin laundry place. If you want gourmet tacos then this is your place. Amazingly friendly service. It’s got a fun skater deco that our tween liked a lot. There’s even a coloring sheet for little kids and crayons. But… Even at $ 7/person we were hungry. I’d rather go to tortas or king tacos with the kids. Only one Bathroom through kitchen. Only one bench for parties larger than 2 inside. No parking except for street. It’s expensive for just tacos. And it’s just tacos. And the soda is in little glass bottles and not tab. I can see why my single friend likes it but not really for me.

Nothing was bad about this place, but I didn’t love eating here. I may have overhyped it for myself since I love tacos and was super excited to hear about this place so close to my house. Pros: –Tacos are different and deloycious. –Brisket & pickle was better than pork carnitas which was better than chicken adobo which was way better than potato(too carb heavy) –Found easy free street parking –Décor is cool. They also have coloring sheets with crayons for little kiddos. Cons: –Service sucked. It was my first time here and when I asked about which tacos were good, the guy working wasn’t enthusiastic or all that helpful. –Music was not my fave. I usually don’t even concern myself with music because it’s just background noise but the music playing was ominous enough for me to notice and it was pretty meh. –Cost is too high for street tacos. At $ 3.50 a pop, I wasn’t blown away by the tacos. I’d pay this much at some place like Guerrilla tacos. Here, not so much. All in all, I see the potential but when I went, it fell short of my expectations.

Love this place! I tried the pork belly tacos and literally can’t stop thinking about them. It is maple glazed pork belly with a sriracha sauce and cotija – what more do you need? I tried the yam taco as well and while it was a bit smoky for my personal taste, it was still quite flavorful. The chips are well seasoned and seem freshly made as well. So happy to see the punk rock, skater décor in the quaint little Montrose area!

New taco shop in Montrose, woohoo! More and more gourmet taco shops seems to be popping up throughout LA, and now finally the unincorporated area of Glendale has one too. I went ahead and tried the Carne Asada and Pork Belly Carnitas taco and both I must say, were excellent. Everything on both(pickled red onions, guacamole, cotija cheese, etc) perfectly complimented the flavors and were extremely enjoyable to finish. They really got the recipes down on these. Carne Asada was nice and juicy and pink in the center, just how I like it. The Pork Belly was grilled crispy on the outside and also juicy and flavorful on the inside. All in all, I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the food, and honest to god, this was later in the day after spending my entire afternoon at a taco tasting competition! They woulda killed that had they been there. It’s a really small place, so keep in that mind if you’re there during busy hours — you might have to take your order to-go. Décor has a ‘Chronic Taco’ vibe, which is a reggae/skater/punk environment, which I think works well and I look forward to see what else they add on their walls. Looks like they close at 8PM. I’m hoping they take advantage of being next door to the Blue Moon Bar and extend their hours for the drunk crowd so we’re not stuck driving through Carls Jr or Jack in the Box late at night.

Heard about this spot from my co workers, and after work I decided to try it out. My boyfriend ordered 2 chicken adobo tacos(He really liked them and said the quality of the chicken was great), I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 carnitas taco and a side of chips and salsa. I enjoyed the carne asada tacos. Though it’s hard to eat as a taco(due to a full explosion of toppings such as guacamole, tomatoes and onions, lettuce, cotija cheese and whatever else I missed. .) I did enjoy using my fork to munch on it. I have to say.. The carnitas taco just wasnt for my pallet. The meat itself was good. .but I’m just not about all that sweet sauce on it.. But hey, that’s just how my taste buds roll… the couple next to me said they thought it was excellent.. So Different strokes for different folks. . The chips and salsa, as well, I could’ve done without. All in all.. The quality of the tacos were up to par, a bit pricey for a quaint taco shop though. Our 5 tacos, chips & salsa and 2 fanta sodas came out to over $ 25(not including tip). Next time.. Im just sticking with the carne asada tacos.
