I miss Dr. O’Brien and my girls! I think I’ll schedule an appt. today. Who says they miss their dentist? Nobody, unless Dr. O’Brien is their dentist. This man saved me. An idiot dentist (not doc O) left decay under my temp crown and caused an infection so bad I couldn’t feel my face for a month. Seriously. I had to go through extensive root canal work to fix first the infection, then the teeth. He saved me… I’m a pro brass musician and make a living with my mouth! OK, that’s the first good part, here’s more:
The staff/​assistants. Tammy and Sonia are just beautiful people. I seriously love them. They’re down to earth, always fun, and completely on top of their work, too. Insurance/​billing/​appointments, all of that is easy. America is also a gem. Someday we’ll get to a soccer game! What a great bunch of people here.

Let me start by saying I hadn’t been to the dentist in 10 years and wasn’t a fan of any in the past. From the moment I called the office I was treated with nothing but honest kindness. It wasn’t that false phone customer service «get you in the door» voice.
I have sent many people to Dr. O’Brien because his work is top notch, he wants the best for you, and the entire staff is an extension of that.
His work has been flawless. One time something hurt after, I came back in and it was quickly corrected. If I recall some cement lost its grip on a temp crown. Saw me right away and fixed me all up.
Dentists are not cheap so sign up for your PPO plan and take good care of your teeth! And know that it’s money well spent!
I can honestly say I enjoy going to the dentist now. Everyone treats me like family and they are even kind enough to send get well cards or call and check on me when my health isn’t good (non-​teeth related).
It’s a far cry from that terror trap my insurance company recommended to me who couldn’t explain how a root canal was done. I actually got out of the chair and never went back. Dr. O’Brien came highly recommended from a family who had been seeing him for years. I was sold right away!
Listen, don’t believe everything you read, go in and experience it for yourself. You won’t be sorry!

Agree with all the other positive posters. This dentist has the best chair side manner of any dentist I have ever seen. He is kind, compassionate and truly cares about his patients. I came to him years ago with major dental phobia from another dentists painful work. Dr. O’Brien was exactly what I needed. He helped me get through my intense fright, repaired my tooth and now I look forward to my bi-​yearly appointments. He’s one of a dying breed — painless, skilled, friendly and has the same great staff that has been with him years. I wouldn’t ever see anyone else for my dental needs.

Well some time has passed since Dr. O’Brien put a crown on one of my molars, and now I have found out (from new x-​rays) that the crown was affixed incorrectly and is causing gum problems. After hearing Dr. O’Brien boast about he was schooled at USC and how «other dentists up sell to pay their large mortgage payments, in an attempt to differentiate himself from other sleaze ball dentists, turns out he is no better. The crown he persuaded me to buy was gold (up sell) and improperly placed below the gum line. So it turns out it really does not matter what school a dentist attended, it’s a crap shoot either way. This guy is so f — — vain, just look at all the head shots he has on this web page above, he should pay more attention to his work than his hair. He has a chair side manner of a used car salesman. Also I was sitting in the exam chair waiting for the dentist speaking on my phone and this creep actually stood behind me and listened to my conversation. Apparently he did not like what I was saying to my wife about our dental insurance, which had no relevance as to any payment to his office, remember he up sold me on the gold crown, and I agreed to pay cash for that service.
This guy is a creep, to full of himself and a subpar dentist. I see that most of the reviews are positive but the x-​rays show that he has caused damaged to my gums from his shoddy workmanship.

I can’t say my visit required any special attention, but I can say that my experience with Dr. Gary O’Brien was the best I’ve ever received in the dental field. The Doc & Staff truly go out of their way to make your experience as pleasant as possible. I moved away for some time and had to get work done. I’m back in town and I plan to make an appointment to see how badly my previous work was done.

There is not a single review that can do Dr. O’Brien any justice. He is hands down, THE nicest, most caring dentist I have ever met and really went above & beyond for me.
I had a dentist destroy my teeth just 10 days before my wedding, and I had no idea where to go and what to do. Dr. O’Brien made me feel so comfortable and the outcome was simply amazing.
Do yourself a favor, make an appointment with him (even if its weeks or months before you can get in) because he is WELL worth the wait and the money spent!

I am a French Horn player and I would only trust Dr. O’brien to work on my teeth. Dr O’brien is absolutely fantastic. He is on the cutting edge of dentistry and has the nicest demeanor. Being a former trumpet player himself, Gary O’brien knows how touchy us brass players can be about our mouths. That is why I will always recommend him to my fellow musicians and just about anybody else who needs dental work done.
For those of you who complain about the cost think of this. I had to have most of my previous fillings redone by Dr O’brien because the cheaper dentists I had gone to had done shoddy work. It would have been cheaper if I had seen Dr. O’brien in the let first place. Get it done once and get it done right!

Dr O’Brien is the BEST dentist ever. I unfortunately have a new insurance and can’t go see him anymore, but I might if I had a really important procedure. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, handsome (not that that part matters :) but I just loved having him as my dentist and even the staff up front is amazing. I unfortunately just went to a horrible dentist’s office in Pasadena and wrote a terrible
Review for them, and it made me remember how incredible Dr. OBrien is, and I wanted to write a review. I refer him all the time on my mommy group because he truly is the BEST.

I have been coming to Dr O’Brien as long as I can remember. y mom has been seeing him for 25 years and he has been my dentist for the past 11 years. I have had nothing but good experiences with him and his team. I highly recommend Dr O’Brien!

If you have to go to a dentist, and every once in a while everyone does, you might as well go to the best. Gary takes his practice seriously. Technology, training, attention to detail are all hallmarks of his practice, but the biggest difference between Gary and most dentists is his laser focus on customer service.
There was traffic out front of this building this morning and someone from his office called me to let me know and to tell me not to worry about it if I was a little late. Who does that? My appointment was on time, I had ample time with Gary and his office staff is friendly and competent.
I highly recommend Gary and his team for any dental need.

The best. Cost more that some other dentists, but he is worth it. The best dentist I ever had. I live in the city of Orange but drive all the way up here to use Dr O’Brien.

Gary O’Brien is the best dentist ever. I’ve been to probably a dozen dentists in my life and Gary is so much better than anyone else it’s hard to consider them in the same category.
He is kind, caring, and committed to helping his patients. He takes the time to explain things and weigh options. And he’s great in terms of pain management. You can’t go wrong with Dr. O’Brien.

I second the great review given by Emma. Dr. O’Brien is probably one of the best dentists in the country. (The other one is Dr. Sam Muslin in Santa Monica, for you on the West side.) Dr. O’Brien is extremely skilled at what he does, more than the usual talent and he is very kind, gentle and patient. All his staff love him as well, which says a lot about the man. Yes, the prices are up there but you pay for what you get in this life. This is not the day and age to be going to a cut-​rate dentist with all the blood-​borne diseases around! My hygienist is Jennifer, very gentle and thorough, she believes in educating her patients, I’ve never met a better hygienist than her. This is a good place, grateful for people like this who are truly dedicated to their work and their patients. Thank you.

Dr. O’Brien is the best dentist I’ve had the privilege of patronizing. He is exceptionally skilled in numbing techniques. I am *extremely* hard to get numb, as many painful visits to past dentists will attest. Dr. O’Brien gets me completely numb for every visit. He even did a root canal and I didn’t feel *anything* No matter what your dental needs, Dr. O’Brien and his team will get the job done right.
However, work this good doesn’t come cheap. If you can afford him, there is no one better qualified than Dr. O’Brien in Glendale.

I love this guy! I wound up in his office with horrifically bad pain in one of my wisdom teeth and within three weeks I was pain free, wisdom-​tooth free and, most importantly, trauma-​free. Which is a first when it comes to me and dentists.
Kind of on the expensive side, sure, but dentists are always pricey no matter what. Especially for someone with no insurance. However, Dr O’Brien and his staff were really awesome about accomodating me, they did their level best to make sure I was able to receive the best care on offer and pay for it, and they really made me feel like they genuinely cared about helping me feel better. I was happy to pay a little extra when it meant I was going to be comfortable with the guy sticking drills in my mouth.
For anyone who is scared of the dentist or getting procedures done, Dr O’Brien is the kind of person who explains everything, makes you feel really relaxed and calm about the whole thing, and generally just makes the whole experience that much easier. Same with his staff; the nurses and the ladies out front were all so friendly and caring from the second I phoned their office to the very last encounter.
Also — conscious sedation FTW! I don’t remember a single thing about getting my wisdom teeth out, I barely felt any pain in the following days as I healed up, and within a week of having FOUR TEETH removed I was totally back to normal.
Once I can afford to, I’m going back here again for my next bit of dental work. You really do get what you pay for, and I’m happy to pay the little extra for superior service and care.
