I work at Bayshore so I decided to try this place for dinner since I was a little bit curious. I must say that I was not at all impressed by it. We sat down right away but it took about 10 min for someone to even stop at our table to give us water, then a couple min later, our server came. She took our drink orders along with appetizers which came out pretty quick. We ordered the crab cakes and the spinach dip; both were lacking in flavor. For our entrée, I got the salmon with jasmine rice and sauté green beans with tomatoes and my brother ordered the wet age steak. The steak was cooked perfectly however, it was very bland. The salmon was ok, just ok… I wasn’t a fan of the sauce they put on it though. The sauce kind of mind me of the tomato Alfredo sauce… Overall, we didn’t care for it at all. The food could’ve been better and there wasn’t to many to choose from neither so I was disappointed

I went to Hom tonight specifically for their fish fry… I’m 8 months pregnant and have been craving it for weeks! Well I was told by our waiter that they didn’t have it tonight(yes, it’s Friday and Wisconsin)?!? I was NOT happy, but know they have other good food so ordered something else. Well imagine my surprise when the table behind us all of a sudden got served a cod fish fry by a different server! I asked their server and needles to say they DID have it. She brought the manager over who«apologized» yet did nothing for me. Didn’t comp my meal, offer me a fish fry to go, or even a free dessert, just NOTHING! Another table next to us chimed in because they too were told there was no fish fry… so disappointed. When you are 8 months pregnant, a craving is the most important thing in the world, and then to have someone next you eating what you want… ruined my week :(

This place is an interesting spin on high end Wisconsin-centric cuisine. The décor is clean and authentic feeling rustic with lots of rough hewn wood and river stone tiled floor. The dining area is partitioned off into lots of individual dining areas that make them feel like cozy private nooks. Great for a date. The food is well executed and not over-seasoned. They let the flavors of the ingredients show through, and seasonings are used to augment, not replace those flavors. We ordered the pork schnitzel w/spaetzel and rack of ribs. The schnitzel was a little over cooked, but delicious. The egg on top was perfect, as was the spaetzel underneath. The flavor of the ribs was amazing. The perfect amount of smoke, delicate sweetness, and not too much tomato or molasses. The preparation of the ribs was great, but the cut was fattier than I would have liked. But perfectly delicious fries made up for that. The drink list is well thought out, and has Wisconsin standbys like the brandy old fashioned and the Milwaukee mule. The service was quite good. Our server Brandon struck the perfect balance between attentive and not pushy. Something wasn’t quite right with one of our dishes and he went the extra mile to make it right. There were a few things that they missed a little in execution, but overall we had a great experience here. We’ll be back again to upgrade our review to 5 stars.

Husband and I decided to have date night here last week Thursday to try somewhere new… we were so disappointed! First off, we ordered crab cakes which had big chunks of shell in there and it was so dry and hard… we also ordered the artichoke dip and it was gritty like the spinach wasn’t washed well and just had a strong taste in there that wasn’t appetizing… Then our entrees took a long time to come out and when we got our entrees that was disappointing also! The chicken pot pie was nothing special and the pastry on top was burnt and not easy to cut into and my salmon with basmati rice was overcooked and the rice was clumpy like it was old cooked rice… Then our server was extremely rude and kept asking us if we wanted everything bagged like he was trying to get rid of us as soon as possible… We were so upset that we didn’t even look at the dessert menu… And yes I tried to reach out to them but I got no response… If you are looking for a date night restaurant don’t come here… with the money we spent we should have just walked to Devon’s which we know has better food.

Love the simple yet unique menu at Hom. Love that it is a Wisconsin-owned and focused restaurant. Makes me proud to eat here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. On my last visit, I ordered their veggie pita and asked if I could add grilled chicken. They had no problem honoring the request. Their cheese curds were also quite good! My dining partner ordered the Lobster Mac n’ Cheese which was also a winner. Love the vibe and the décor, too. PS: Excellent Bloody Mary with a shorty of Rhinelander as a chaser! Check out the full review of the Bloody at .

I usually steer clear of mall restaurants, but last night we ended up at Hom out of convenience. It will not happen again. I dined here soon after it opened and our experience at that time was more of the 3 star caliber. They recently changed the menu, and the only sandwich they offer at dinner is a $ 15 hamburger. My son said it was«fine.» I think this decision to only offer mediocre pricey full plate meals after 3:00 will be their demise. This is a mall restaurant after all. Last night we started with the spice rubbed wings and the tater tots. The wings were the star, but there were only 6 to a $ 9 order. The tots were salty and uninspired. At the suggestion of the server, I ordered shrimp scampi. It was inedible. The shrimp were way over cooked and sooty, not charred, and the overall dish was soupy and intensely salty. Here I must confess that I am a big fan of salt. I sent it back after two bites. The server offered to bring me something else, but I seriously lost my appetite. My friend ordered the pot roast. The few bites I had were also fine, but the mashed potatoes were dense and dry. It wasn’t anything special. The consensus was that there was no desire to ever return. I wish I had read reviews here before deciding to stop at Hom, because then I would have opted for a better option.

Locally sourced goods does not mean that they can cook. Very bland even for a mall restaurant. The cottage pie was a boring soup with a few lumps of mashed potatoes floating it. Ribs should be a slab. Steak was mediocre. My daughter said it best that it was like going to Applebee’s, but way more expensive. And Applebee’s tastes better.

It was pretty good. Stopped by for lunch with one of my employees. We both had salads. They were fresh and well prepared, but nothing special. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. Our server Bret was very nice and super attentive so he actually gets 4 stars. I don’t know what I expected but I wasn’t disappointed, just not excited either.

Food was decent, service was ok. Definitely not a destination place but adequate for the area. I think on a non rainy night, an outdoor table by the fire might add to the wow factor.

Great food and service! We came here for a work meeting, got our own room with a very polite waiter. He seemed a bit new, but was very eager to answer our questions. If he didn’t know the answer he was happy to figure it out!!! I had the chicken pot pie and it was AMAZING!!! Strongly recommend!!!

I’ve passed this place a bunch of times while coming to Bayshore — have always been curious because it looks nice, but after eating here with a party of 7, consensus around the table is that this place is «overpriced and the food too salty.» We waited for 35 minutes for a table of 7, which is not bad, and since the place was busy we were excited. Right from the get go, service was disorganized and inattentive. We asked the waiter for vegetarian options and the waiter recommended the beef pot roast… a sign of things to come. Next came a glass of wine — the most expensive on the menu at $ 11 — and it came with wine all over the cup We ordered — Tater tots: yikes too salty — Beet salad: withered — Chicken sandwich: dry — Shrimp and grits: tasted ok, but $ 20 for 5 soggy shrimps? — Scallops: too chewy and not fresh, on a bed of canned corn — Veg flat bread: Ok, should have been an app — Hom salad: Very salty, «I don’t know what they put in it» said my mom — Veggie sandwich: grilled veggies tasted good, but was too salty overall, and the bread was average — French fries: were they dipped in salt water? It’s surprising that we thought the food was too salty because I actually love salty food but even this was too much. It’s too bad because the interior is nice and it would have been good to have a more upscale dining option in this mall, as opposed to Bd and Applebee’s. We won’t be back.

Very disappointed about this place. Look from outside is pretty good restaurant. As long as I entered the restaurant, the service is not good. The front desk waitress is not welcoming. In my mind, at least they should say hi to me. But no, they didn’t. Or at least they should’ve ask how many? But they didn’t. They are waiting for me to tell them. The most important– the food is not good. My bf ordered one of the most expensive steak which is $ 35. The taste is very bad. Its not worth the price. I ordered POTROAST taste like BEEFCAN which I bought from pick n save. Exactly same taste as the beef can! That’s awful!!! I went to a restaurant to eat great food which cannot buy from a grocery store. The only good thing is they have really good inside environment. I will not go again.

I have been here twice now. Both times we came here for a business lunch witha group of 5. This place is pretty good. Is it a bbq place? Is it a grill? It is a bit of both. Differnt to say the least. They offer many unique dishes. I mean this more in how they are prepared and some of the offerings. The décor comes off as a combo of country and bbq restaurant. It is clean and the staff is good and accomidating. The service is very good as well. For instance I had the walleye the first time. It had a breading, texture and taste that was very good. All of those things were good and kind of tough to describe as I have never experienced that type of combination before where all 3 things were so unique. This is a good thing I am describing not a negative. Hard to put my finger on exactly what spices were used. The other day I ordered the ribs. These were also unique as they were all individualy cut thick with the rib tip also attached. So it was like getting a back rib and part of a spare rib all in one. The sauce had a slight bit of warmth and sweetness to it. I subbed out the fries for potato pancakes. They were small and thick but pretty good. Once again a unique intepretation of ribs and very good. On our 2 vsits we also tried a few of the apps. We tried a combo plateer that had a variety of things that included cold meats like salami, cheese crackers and a few other things. It was good and more than enough for 5 people as a start. We also tried the fried cheese curds and tater tots. Those were also very good. So for a unique taste on some familiar dishes and some unique dishes as well you can come here if you have a taste to try something new.

We won’t go back. A group of five of us went out for dinner on a weeknight. It feels like they spend more time on the environment than they do on training /hiring good chefs. We have burgers and pizza’s and fish. And each item was pretty bland and lacking of any real punch. The service was good however, and the main driver for the extra star. Pros — the service, and hip atmosphere Cons — a bit pricey, and overall bland food

Hom! You just dropped another star. I was too easily convinced by my second visit that you had changed. The lunch menu is the exact same as the dinner menu. This is always utterly disappointing, especially since Hom has such great local ingredients. I would love to have seen more variation with those awesome ingredients! We ordered cheese curds for an appetizer and they came out after 30 minutes. Our entrees followed after anther 15 minutes. It was an awfully long time to wait for food in a dead restaurant. The meat quality on the burger and the Wisconsin dip sandwich were horrendous, and nobody could finish their meal. We actually both became physically ill after eating here. Furthermore, the music situation. What the HECK! Violin versions of Lady Gaga, mixed with rap and r&b? What is going on? It’s a total disaster, folks. Really disappointed. The ingredients should be making for excellent food, but they’re just not doing it right here.

What do you call a place like this? A steak house? Nahhh A fancy burger/sandwich place? Maybe ! I have been wanting to try this place for a while but nothing really drew me towards it. We were in the area yesterday and decided to try the place out for dinner. The ambiance is pretty good and I love the idea of Wisconsin grown theme. However the theme and the overall experiance unfortunately didn’t meld into something I can make sense of(not that it matters I guess) Anyway here is what we tried — bbq wings(was a 2.5 at best) my 6 year old seem to enjoy it though — Wisconsin Mac n cheese was a 4(or maybe a 5 given that they are using all Wisconsin farm products) — Wisconsin blue burger — I must say this was a 5 and is a great burger. The meat tastes fabulous it was nicely done — steak –3.5 was pretty good. Nothing memorable — chopped salad –4 pretty delist — ribs– were pretty decent and again nothing memorable(which would again be rated as a 3) Yes I tried a bite of everyone’s meal. Service– our waiter Justin was professional and service was great ! I would rate the service a 5 Unfortunately I can’t quite give an identity to this place so I may not return. Unless maybe an official trip where an out of town client wants to have a Wisconsin burger and I bring them here since this is a classy burger joint !

Fun comfort food in a barn like setting. Excellent cheddar soup and cheese platter. Dry rub wing are zippy and flavorful. More like black peppery than buffalo spicy. Great beer selection too. Been here a few times and service is consistently good.

Eaten here twice now so it’s review time. Solid food and drink, solid service and solid atmosphere. Really good place from my two visits. I have had two different soups and both were tasty and filling. Also have had multiple appetizers and all were satisfying. No complaints ! Every time we are here for a small bite and drinks so next time it will be entrees. For now short review but very satisfied with my visit. Perhaps raising to five starts after a real dinner here.

Had the bacon and bleu. It was expertly crafted. Grilled great and had a good smoke flavor to it. The beet salad was a winner too. As a matter of fact it was the star of the show.

Worst experience ever. Ordered the lazy Susan, that was good. So was the beer soup. Hubby ordered chili and they forgot to bring it, as our two sandwiches arrived, I reminded them. They asked if we still wanted it. No. I ordered the patty melt, it was burnt on the outside, flavorless and not even seasoned. My hubby ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. Wow, spicy isn’t the word for it, HOT. Then, couldn’t find our waitress, had to ask another server to find her. Then She asked if we wanted dessert? No, never again.
