What’s wrong with these stores anyway? They clearly do not care about the consumer. My wife visited this hell-hole on November 25(6 days ago… key to the story) in an emergency situation, having lost her iPhone charger, with no battery and a long road trip with our young kids ahead. The sales-person went behind the counter, presented her with a $ 21 piece of garbage, which appeared to charge the phone for about 5 minutes, before warning lights started coming on about the charger being«unregistered» «unsupported» — and then causing the phone to turn off. Now she was on the road and left with no phone for the 7 hour desolate ride. The MetroPCS place purports a pathetic 7 day return policy(to which which they don’t even adhere as you will read). I called them on November 29, on their receipt phone # 602−710−8804(which is a cheesy cell-phone straight-to-VM with no professional greeting whatsoever). I left a message explaining that I had sent the faulty charger back to my wife’s father-in-law, and elderly semi-retired pastor, who brought the item back for what should have been an easy return. Instead, today, 6 days past the initial purchase(or still within the return time-frame) the insolent customer-no-service rep showed my elderly father-in-law how the charger«APPEARED» to be working on her phone, ignoring the issue with the charger being that it did not charge MYWIFE’s phone over any duration longer than a few pointless minutes. The customer no-service rep REFUSED the lousy $ 21 return, and caused my father-in-law an unnecessary 20 mile trip, considering I had already called, explained the situation and requested a return call should there be any problem(since they don’t answer the phone… irony of irony… mid-day on a Saturday… there wasn’t much else I could do.) The woman got on the phone with me to explain that it was charging her phone. Gee thanks! Maybe you can give me YOURPHONE with the charger. It didn’t work on MYWIFE’s BRANDNEW phone. Your phone is beyond immaterial to this situation, which, due to METROPCS negligence could have become dangerous and involved CHILDREN. And I am sure her phone would have had the same problem in a short period of time. I doubt my wife has some magic iPhone. My father-in-law left the phone on the counter, and METROPCS has basically ripped us off. Shame, because our local Metro PCS dealer would NEVER act like this. I will be calling corporate, and filing a charge-back with AMEX. I highly recommend going DIRECT to your CREDITCARD company if you have a problem with this merchant. That’s the ONLY way they will get the message.
