Just came from a drs visit with Dr Su. I got a sudden breakout on my chin with a huge one I thought was a abcess. He gave me a cortisone shot and told me it was a cyst. Dr Su spent time with me and answered all my questions. I liked how he summed up the main points at the end. Very nice!

My mom has been a patient of this office for many years, and I’ve been going there for at least 12 years. We both started out seeing Dr. Grashaw, who was pretty thorough. After Dr. Grashaw passed away, I started seeing Dr. Novak, who was excellent – extremely thorough. You put on a gown, and he checked absolutely everywhere for problems and found them before they became cancerous. He even had his nurse check more private places. Then we both had some experiences with Dr. Su. He did an excellent job on facial surgery(removal of a cancerous tumor) on my mom and an equally excellent job on removal of a pre-cancerous mole on my torso. However, we’ve since been in for yearly and bi-yearly checks with Dr. Su and have not even been required to put on a gown or been checked much of anywhere. He simply asks if we have any problems, and that’s that. How would we know? He should be the expert who checks us and looks for those problems. My mom has had skin cancer in several places(face, neck, and chest), so she definitely should be checked by him from head to toe, not just asked if she has any concerns or problems as he passes through. These were not isolated incidences. My boyfriend(58 and has had plenty of sun, working outside most of his adult life), and my 32-year-old son both have recently had the same experiences with Dr. Su. So, if we can’t see Dr. Novak, I guess we’re going to try to find another dermatologist who takes the time to do a thorough check to find potential problems before they become serious.

if you are looking for the best Dermatologist ever… Look no more. This is were I have been going for the past 18 years even when I moved away from Glendale the drive from West Hills is worth seeing Dr. Su. When I went there a long time ago I use to see Dr. Grawshaw(R.I.P) after his passing they got some persian guy who sucked so bad that I stopped going. Didn’t like the way he was was rushing trying to get to his next patient… what up with that? After a year or two I got a letter stating that Dr. Su will take his place. My faith was restored and said let me try him. I’m glad I did because he reminds me of a young Dr. Grawshaw. Dr. Su is very patent and spends quality time explains things so that you understand it. I recommend him to everyone. Dr. Su is the best Dermatologist ever. Hope he is there forever and never leaves.

The people answering the phone at Dr. Novak’s office are very unprofessional. When I called for a slight condition on the arms I specifically asked to make my appointment with Dr. Novak. The very rude receptionist scheduled the appointment. I get to my appointment, go in wait for the doctor but am so surprised to see another doctor come in. I research my doctors before making appointments. The receptionists lied to me by stating that they told me that I wasn’t going to see Dr. Novak. If that was the case — I would have never gone in to see another doctor. If you make an appointment at this office YOU have to make sure that they don’t lie to you. Also, make sure to get the assistant’s name. And make sure you see the doctor that you ask to see. I don’t care how good the other doctor is — when I ask specifically to make my appointment with Dr. Novak I expect to see HIM and ONLY him. Very unprofessional of them to do this!!!
