Phoenix Heart Cardiovascular Center

I was recommended to Phoenix Heart by my PCP. I was very nervous about seeing a cardiologist at a young age.
My first appointment wasn’t great and I left very upset. I chalked this up to being nervous and overwhelmed. I decided to bring a family member to my next appointment as an extra ear.
Next time, Dr. Jana was friendly, listened to my concerns and smiled. I thought the first appointment must have been a one off and was pleased with my second appointment.
I made my recent appointment to discuss side effects of the medication. I told the nurse and him which medication I was on and he still thought I was on the previous medicine.
I talked to him about my concerns with the side effects and at one point he says I can’t talk to him daily about this. I had not seen him for over three months. (I guess he felt I was wasting his time???)
The absolutely worst part was he got up and opened the door without a word. I got up and followed him. I thought we were going to the nurses desk to discuss follow up details. Nope. He just opened the door and left without a word. I was embarrassed and on the verge of tears. I had to ask the nurses how to exit.
I was so upset I couldn’t cancel my August appointment (made this 3 months ago)
until I came home. The person I spoke with was shocked by the doctors behavior and offered to have the office manager call me back.
They never called back. If they do I will update my review.
Side note: Dr. Jana does have an impressive resume. However, only being knowledgable about medicine and treating a patient like a second class citizen is not acceptable. If you want great service like they promise on their website bring someone with you — otherwise you will get half a doctor.

My son was referred by our primary care physician to see a cardiologist. Very concerned, I called Phoenix Heart. Let me tell you, from the beginning, I was impressed with their service!
I highly recommend Dr. Depak Jana. He takes a lot of time and is very thorough with his exam. But more than that, he called my son later that night and again over the weekend to see how he was doing. What doctor does that these days?! He had my son come in Monday morning *without an appt., to do more tests. (We only waited 15 min in the waiting room) Dr. Jana is a very caring, competent, quick witted and sweet man. If you are in need of cardiac care, call Phoenix Heart and make an appointment with Dr. Jana. You will feel at ease, and be in great hands. Highly recommend!
