I must say for money that we paid the food was horrible! Fried rice, noodles, vegetables — all had the same flavor — no difference!!! And the flavor was BLAH! I’m so disappointed, especially the part that we spent so much money for something that WASNOTWORTHIT! I believe, it also depends what chef you get to cook at your hibachi table! Deserts were pulled directly out of freezer, not even home made… Probably bought at Costoco or BJ!

I had the Tuna Steak and it was really good. The cook asked how I wanted it which they never do in other places. They also cooked the fish before the steak and chicken which is ideal since some people in my party didn’t like any seafood. Luis the cook was attentive and very friendly and followed my niece’s picky eating habits. Will definitely be back.

Ate here in December and prior to that, at least a year or two before. The food quality unfortunately has deteriorated. The shrimp are small and not as plump and meaty as they used to taste, steak is of poor, chewy quality and portion sizes seem to have shrunk while the prices seemed to at least remain the same or gone up a little. The chefs seem to overdo it on the salt. Despite finishing my plate, I still left hungry. The wait staff did not seem as attentive as they could have been and it took a while to get the check. I recently rediscovered Narita in Forest Hills and had a much better dining experience there. If in the mood for hibachi again, I will not be returning to Shiro.

The food is delicious great atmosphere and clean looking. The prices are way to high I expect more food for the price. Also family friendly place.

I went here for lunch, it was pleasantly empty and they have lunch specials even on the weekend. The special included salas, noodles or bean sprouts, veggies, and rice. I had an overall fun experience, but the food was sub par in my opinion. My friends and I all got chicken, and it was okay, I’ve had better teriyaki chicken from a mall(sorry not sorry). We also got the noodles, which had way too much soy sauce and no real flavor, I couldn’t even eat them. The drinks on the other hand were pretty great. I ordered the Tokyo Sunrise, it was decently strong and tasted ok. My friend ordered the Ginji and that was delicious, you could tell there was a lot of alcohol in it but it still had a great taste. In the end the price was right and so were the drinks, but the food was nothing to rave about. I wouldn’t make a trip back here unless my friends were really pushing for it.

While I will say the chef put on a great show, I was not at all happy with my food. I might need to start a permanent hashtag for #placesnottoeat My food at Shiro of Japan would have turned me off of hibachi style food had I not had great or even average food. Smh. I dont even know where to begin. Kayla’s chicken was hard and my steak almost chipped my tooth. My rice was undercooked while the noodles were overcooked. This place definitely made me miss Edos. I gave it one star on behalf of the chef. #hibachi #badfood #neveragain

Hibachi in Queens, Definitely a good time when with a group of friends.(Make a reservation, place gets crowed) The cooks were entertaining and kept you involved while cooking your food, which takes time but worth the wait. Everything was delicious but a bit pricey. Would definitely go back.

Me and my family just ate here. This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. The hostess was a bit arrogant. I should’ve cursed her out as my appetizer. I ordered regular sushi and crab cakes. The sushi was bite size and wasnt worth 20 dollars The crab cakes were 2 slivers of imitation crab meat. My wife and daughter ordered spicy tuna rolls. Rolls werent rolled properly. Rolls were falling apart like it was made by someone off the street. All in all it was the worst 65 dollars I’ve ever spent on food. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who appreciates Japanese cuisine. Very overpriced

Came here to eat with my family. Was not impressed at all. The hostess was not as welcoming as she’s supposed to be. The waitress needs more training. We always have to tell her what we need in terms of utensils. Like for instance, there’s four of us and we were only given 2 plates and with glass of water we were only given 3 and that we have to ask for it. Food is not impressive at all. They serve you imitation crab for their so called«crab cake». Calamari– there’s more flour to it than the meat. Most of all, they’re over-priced.

Shiro is a pretty good sushi and hibachi place. I really like the hibachi good but the«performance» from the cooks are pretty much the same every time. The sushi taste pretty good too however not worth the price. I love the drinks there especially the sunset.

There is not one bad thing I can say about this place! Came here with my parents and some friends and we had a great time. Me and my father decided we didn’t want hibachi just sushi, while the others ordered hibachi the guy making the food seemed determined to have us try the hibachi. No complaints here all the food was delicious! And the drinks were great especially the lychee martini. I will definitely be back soon, it’s worth the trip from Brooklyn!

This was my first hibachi restaurant and I was pretty impressed. I however didn’t like how the seating works and is arranged. I would like for the seating to be more private(only the people on your party) instead of a bunch of strangers. The food was good but the portions were pretty small.

I called ahead of time to make sure they had tables available. I was told they had plenty. I get there with friends and they tell me it would be a 10 minute wait. It turned into an hour wait. Meanwhile other customers who seemed to be regulars were seated right away. After an hour they seat us. 5 minutes later they tell us we have to get up. Our party wasn’t big enough. The hostess was rather rude and unpleasant. Bottom line: horrible experience. We left rather than continue to wait for another table. If you want to be treated like s“it go here!

I been here on a few occasions but have always forgot to review it. I even celebrated my birthday here about four years ago. My review is only for the hibachi side since I have never ate sushi here. There is something really fun about hibachi since its like dinner and a show. I been here with just one person and also in a large group and they have always been really nice and the experiences have always been great. I always get either chicken or steak teriyaki since it’s pretty good here with some fried rice. Is the food here the best food no but it’s good and you come more for the whole experience.

Place would’ve got a 5 had the service been much better they were probally understaff. But the food was awesome, place is huge and the manager gave us complimentary shrimp tempura and zuchini for the drinks taking so long. Very nice of him to have done that. Overall really nice experience and they also have a great happy hour 5 dollar on their special drinks and draught beer. They also have a special when you show them your ticket stubs from the Atlas Movie theatre a meal of 29.95 for 2. Pretty sweet deal.

This location is amazing! I usually go to the one on old country road, but decided to try this location out since i was already out there. The interior décor was gorg & the service was great. I LOVE hibachi food & this place justified it even more, granted the shiro in garden city is just as good but i am shocked at how well kept this location is. The food was obvi delicious & our cook was super friendly & funny. Drinks were great too.

Very nice hibachi restaurant. The ginger sauce was delicious. The crew was very nice. The food was delicious minus the noodles. Although, that was their only downfall. They did quite well. Tried three different drinks. Not as. The scallops were DELICIOUS and plump. Yum. Will definitely return.

Hostess told us a 30 minute wait for the Hibachi. This turned to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Hostess did not even apologize. We noticed that most of the guests leave and don’t bother coming back. Onion soup tasted like water with a dash of soup mix(what up with that). The complimentary white wine was the color water and weak taste. The fried rice, pork dumplings were good, the dragon, roll we shared as aps was good too. The rest of the meal was just fair to average, chicken dry, meat not well seasoned. Giving the waiter an A though for being attentive and good service. BTW, the small bar was nice and nice bartender made a good pineapple vodka.

Gotta love Unilocal… I was in the mood for some Hibachi and didn’t feel like trekking into the city(or long island) for Benihana when I Unilocaled this place and noticed it was only a quick drive away. I’m a fan, it’s local, it’s convenient with a parking garage just outside. I will keep this place in my back pocket for the future. It’s a nice place when you have a large party.
