I had barely joined here for a few days and the results weren’t great to me. I had joined this school to relearn Hung Ga that I once trained and forogt, when I was a teenager. The flyer on the school tells us to be in class on time, but classes always started 30 mins late! That’s very unprofessional to me and not everyone has all the time in the world. Another thing, is some of the instructors that run that class, either got a lot of injuries or their basics aren’t good. When I was taught kung fu as a youth, though I didn’t learn much; I mostly taught to respect and honor people. However, I don’t feel the people here honor the time for the adult’s class. This isn’t directed to Sifu Kong, who I know is suffering a injury right now and is limited from teaching. This is more for the people, who are running the classes at times. I’ve never seen people take such long breaks and talk more than train. I think the result for this review, I am going to somewhere else to learn.

This is a great traditional Martial Arts school. I’ve taken classes here for several years, both Kung Fu and Tai Chi. I’ve gained so much knowledge on so many levels. And I owe it all to the remarkable wisdom and talent of Buck Sam Kong. Sifu Kong is a Kung Fu Grand Master of global status who has devoted his life to the belief that everyone can benefit from learning Kung Fu: those looking to boost their fighting skills will find a wealth of time-proven techniques. Those looking for personal development will find a loyally preserved ancient art full of amazing physical, mental and spiritual challenges. Those looking for a great workout will find that, too. The atmosphere is friendly and laid back. You learn at your own pace. Sifu Kong’s focus on patience and internal discipline really informs the tone of the classes. There are many senior students(I’m talking 15, 20 and 30 years) on hand to teach beginners, and many of them have better skills than some people who have their own schools. There are night classes, morning classes, kids’ classes, Tai Chi classes, and times devoted to fighting techniques and tradition lion dancing.

I have been with Master Buck Sam Kong for nine years. It is so hard to find good traditional Chinese Kung Fu Schools in Los Angeles. It has truly been an honor to learn from such a great teacher. He is a Black Belt Hall of fame honoree and considered to be one of the top authorities in Chinese Kung Fu. All the students there are great, especially the senior students. Each one is very patient in helping new students learn the forms and techniques properly. This is a testament to their good teaching from their master. I strongly encourage those looking for a great workout and a wonderful cultural experience to check this place out!
