Sorry Thai BBQ in Glendale. We’ve been loyal Thai BBQ customers for years. Even before other locations existed. We frequent the location on 3rd Street in Los Angeles. We never had food poisoning from their food until we ordered take out yesterday from THIS specific location. Really sad about this. We won’t ever be returning to this location.

The food is pretty good but if you order take out make sure u ask for things like chili sauce, soy sauce or chopsticks etc. because they won’t give u any without asking.

I really like the food, but really hate the business. There is a woman working in the front who is completely rude and dismissive of the customers. I ordered $ 100 worth of food for my nursing unit and this lady treated us like we were wasting her time. She gave us such an attitude when we went to pick it up that I almost walked out the door before I paid. TERRIBLESERVICE!!!

I have been going to Thai BBQ for over 20 years now, many of those years here at the Glendale branch. The s1 and s8 is what I normally order and the spring rolls. Its automatic. I don’t even know what else is on the menu. Not much has changed, even the waitresses. What happened on the very last time I will ever go to this restaurant again was unbelievable. The lady who took my phone order was so rude and so quick to get Mr off the phone that I knew she had gotten it wrong. $ 43 for an s1, s8, and spring rolls? So I assume they changed the pricing. So upon pick up, lo and behold, I supposedly ordered a «rainbow trout s9» I never even knew they had rainbow trout. Lol. So i tell the lady the order was wrong. So the lady comes back with a crazy attitude when she clearly was wrong and said«you tell me s9 rainbow trout» and I said calmly no I did not, Im not paying for that I’m sorry. So this lady rolled her eyes at me and said«whateverrr» and I was pissed but more hungry at the same time. So I let it go, my bill was adjusted and I went on my way. Im never going back to this Glendale branch ever. Despite all the fun times andoccasions you will never have my business ever again. Hire people that can dictate phone orders correctly so screw ups don’t happen as much, hey and if they do, never blame your customer in front of OTHER customers.

Listen. The food here is good, I’ll give credit where credit is due. BUTTHEWAITRESSESARESO F*CKINGRUDE. The worst service i have EVER encountered. I cannot believe the rude waitresses. Lost my appetite just interacting with them. Unacceptable. Just plain unacceptable. Smh. Take the trip to a different Thai BBQ, like the only in Hollywood or something. I’ve eaten at the restaurant once and ordered takeout once. Both times were pretty average experiences. Customer service is alright and the food tastes decent. Not the best but not awful. If you want a quick meal at a low price it’s a good option, but you can definitely find better Thai restaurants around the area. A safe choice would be to order the BBQ chicken or pork spare ribs since that’s what their known for. If you’re looking for an ordinary experience with standard tasting food then this is the place, but if you’re looking for something else you should keep looking.

I ordered a Pad Thai chicken ONLY through the phone, I even emphasized the CHICKENONLYPART& that I’m allergic to shrimp. We I picked it up, I went straight back home without checking it because it was secured in a brown paper bag. When I came home, I started eating it, and I see small pieces of shrimp in my Pad Thai -.- Seriously?!? They’re lucky my allergy doesn’t make very serious reactions but still, what if other people does have severe reactions to seafood, they could get into very serious and bad situations by eating«accident» food like this. Tsk tsk tsk. Honestly, that shows that the cooks in this restaurant are hasty :\

Food is good, but customer service is terrible. I just bought $ 130 worth of take out and they refused to give me extra sauce.

This the spot. I love Thai food and its diversity of flavors. I’m more on the sweeter savory flavors and Thai food, especially at this restaurant, delivers. Every time I come back home to eat with my family I go to this spot. Definitely one of my favorites back in high school. Their house special grilled chicken served with sweet and sour sauce over a bed of shrimp fried rice is too good to pass up. Also recommend the pad thai here too. This was my first taste of Thai food and probably the best one I’ve had thus far. Must try!

Don’t order ANY take out from these fools. First of all when I say SATAY you say… STEAK. What? The last time I checked CHICKEN and STEAK were two different animals. Then when you finally get your order in… THEYSENTUSTHEWRONGFOOD! We called back and requested our Chicken Satay be corrected, requested our proper delivery, and all they could tell us was«It wasn’t their policy» … whatever that meant. So YOU messed up… but you won’t fix it? As my Chicken Satay was held hostage by some Thai Lady nonsense, they then told me I needed to RETURN my food to get my Satay! Really? Why? The Thai Lady responded …“So they could give it to someone else… « ok. No. As glorious as your sauce is– I won’t ever order from them again. I’ll save my Drunken Noodles for the Studio City location. As soon as my family and I walked into this restaurant we were«greeted» by a lady who was not too happy about the size of our party, which was a whopping 5 people! She sat is down with an attitude, no request for drinks, no smile — nothing! There were smaller parties who arrived much later than we did who got their drinks much sooner! The service here is horrible and would get 0 stars if that were possible but I have got too say the food is awesome! Awesome enough to get this three star listing standing apart from any service. Don’t go here if you’re looking for kind, friendly and attentive service.

Based on the BBQ chicken alone, it’s a 4 star joint. The fact of the matter is that the waitresses just hate their jobs and possibly even you for just coming in. They are very short with you. The faster you order, eat and leave, the happier they are. Order takeout, it’s delicious. Save yourself the unpleasantries of the staff.

IT’S ALLABOUTTHES1! After a day of sliding from one ice cream parlor to the next, cohort recommended coming here for much needed sustenance. It took no time at all for cohort to decide, since he had been here before and, for him, IT’S ALLABOUTTHE S-1. What is this infamous S-1 that everyone seems to be ordering?! PARKING: Street parking Small private lot INTERIOR: Interior reminds me of a Conrad’s or Denny’s, with a posted«Wait to be Seated» sign, dated carpet, and booths for two along walkways, larger booths at windows and tables fill up empty space. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Our waiter was friendly and checked on us frequently. ORDERED: The S-1, that several fellow Unilocalers rave about in their reviews is a half house special Thai Original BBQ chicken, served with house special BBQ honey sauce and shrimp fried rice. Wow! The little taste I was able to manage to get was quite amazingly tasty. So tender, juicy, and full of yummy BBQ and not overly sweet honey sauce. I, on the other hand, wanted to pursue the menu a bit. Of course, I was leaning toward my Thai staple, Panang Curry with Shrimp, but the Garlic Supreme with chicken was calling my name and I had to answer. This garlicy goodness is sautéed roasted garlic, cilantro and white pepper and oh so tender chicken served on cabbage and topped with cilantro. Although I can never grow enough garlic, this dish was definitely delish. IN A DOGGIEBAG: Fortunately, Original Thai BBQ is far enough south of the minutia of downtown Glendale, which affords more parking opportunities. Sure, the interior is dated, but hey, have you seen the prices of their items. Clearly, providing flavorful food is first priority, and I’m ok with that. Cohort gets a two thumbs up for recommending this tasty restaurant.

The service here is typically average but tonite the staff seemed to rush us? When the second server finally took out order she didn’t even write down our order. They brought us food we didn’t order? I’m not a waiter but it might help to write things down. Food was okay, nothing special. Thank god we have several different Thai restaurants to choose from. Now my bill came and they automatically calculate the tip and print in beneath your total. What would you do in this case where your felt that you received poor service and the wrong food? Would you leave the 15%? Or would you leave less? I left 15% with prejudice and will not come back.

I used to eat here often and always ordered the S1 meal. Consistently good chicken and rice with a yummy sauce. Today I order this to go plus an order of calamari. When I got home, the Styrofoam container was melted by the hot oil. Unfortunately it is inedible. Eat in and don’t order food to go.

I usually come to this place once every few months to enjoy a meal because they serve decent food here. I usually order the fried rice because its so good and the amount of rice they give is perfect for me. They also serve some BBQ Spare Ribs here, which is surprisingly good. Well, for my last visit, I decided I’d get something from the«house specialty» menu, so I ordered the Honey Duck. The meal was a little disappointing. First off, it’s served with fried rice, which normally would be a good thing for me, except that it was Shrimp Fried Rice. I don’t like shrimp, so we asked if we could change it to Beef Fried Rice. They said we could, but it’d be an additional charge. Don’t really think that’s fair that they only serve one type of rice with the meal, and then charge us extra for when we want a slight difference. I mean, not everyone likes shrimp. Btw, all«house specialty» dishes are served with Shrimp Fried Rice. Anyway, when the food arrived, the Duck itself was a little too crispy and dry. I had a hard time finding any tender meat on the whole thing. It was mostly just crispy skin, fat, and bone. I ended up mostly eating the rice and only picked at the duck a bit since it was mostly inedible. I will be back since I enjoy some of their other dishes, I’ll just avoid the Honey Duck from now on. Oh, on a side note: They do not except the Discover Card. It’s not that big of a deal really, just something to keep in mind if that’s your preferred method of payment.

So I went to meet up with a few friends for some Thai food… we all love Thai food… and one of them likes this joint a lot. Unfortunately it didn’t make the cut for me. The grub was very average, but the waitress was on the snotty snide and someone that I would rather not have serving me. So a total of six of us met up for dinner and everything seemed to be average for all of us. Literally nothing stood out. Not to my friends, the munchkin, or myself. Even the munchkin wasn’t wildly enthusiastic like normal. We even pulled a bit of family style sharing but that didn’t bump any of the flavors up into a better dish. At least our friend who is vegetarian was able to grub here without an issue. The munchkin had the pad see ew, one of my friends had Pad Thai, someone else had the BBQ chicken plate, another the crab plate, I had curry and I don’t recall what my vegetarian friend got. None the less it wasn’t really that memorable and enticing. The flavors were just not reminiscent of my time spent in Thailand nor any of the good Thai restaurants that I frequent on a regular basis. Parking here is a royal clusterF. Be very careful if you park in the shared lot as only certain spaces allow you to park for the restaurant. Many are blocked off for other businesses nearby. I ended up having to park on the street behind and enjoyed a short hike to and from the restaurant. So I don’t plan on going back. But I especially hated the fact that the waitresses was snotty and being snide. There is no reason to talk down to our table just because you feel like it. At least that is how I felt things went when I was there. It would seem if your not that happy serving people, that you need to find a new job… Total waste IMHO… your better off somewhere else…
