Once inside Top China Buffet, I quickly ascertained that I would not be hard pressed to find a few shortcomings. There’s an aesthetic feel that indicated to me that the business may be just scraping by. As with most all buffets, the food options are plentiful and quite obviously, none of the options reach a high threshold of flavor. So what one consumer enjoys or dislikes about food and value are bound to those two contrasting positions, cause ya just can’t get both. Lover of multiple options but have the culinary palate of a seventh grader? Big eater that tends to be tempted by food that will put your physical health in jeapordy after years of consumption? Truth be told the above examples are merely exaggerations, theres always healthy options available. Pricing ran $ 18.50 total which covers two people enjoying multiple food choices from shrimp to dim sum and a minimum of ten other Chinese foods just to name a few. This minimal bill included one dollar for unlimited tea which no matter where you are eating at is a very fair value for the money. Top China Buffet at every turn is far from an eating out budget buster. The location is slated to close in May of this year as costs are just too high and the number of customers are to low. But its not too late to turn the tide.

This place has Cleaned up their act over the years after being shut down 2 times by the DOH and scoring a 146 points for sanitary violations. The food was worm and tasty. Only complaint I had was the soda was flat and the soup was watered down to the point where it was tasteless. THe soda was also flat. I say eat here at your own risk knowing the history of the place. The service was good and the waiter was very polite and professional with us. we where the only people eating though at the time.

It is a Very good & quiet buffet I think. My husband & I went there for lunch last week. It is really worthy place to eat. The quality, quantity& variety of the foods are really good enough for that cheap price. They also provide free parking space for the customers. It is the cheapest buffet we had ever gone($ 7.99 for lunch).Though we heard some people faced billing problems & some had problems with their service. But didn’t face any. The waiters are attentive & cooperative. We’ll be there several times in future for sure. We just love Top China Buffet.

This place is absolutely disgusting. Several years ago, we ate here a few times and the food was decent, about what you’d expect from a middle of the road buffet. Always pretty packed, and worn down décor but clean. I came here six months ago with my daughter and I was horrified– I should have left when I saw the trays and the empty restaurant. Over half the buffet slots were empty, we were one of two tables at peak dinner time on a Friday night, and the food was just awful. Even the pizza, which I expected to at least be grocery-store-reheated-frozen-quality pizza, was inedible. The only good thing was the candied nuts on the dessert section– they clearly were not made at this restaurant, which should be considered a major bonus. I pass by here on foot two or three times a week and I’ve never seen more than a table or two. I don’t understand how it’s still in business…

This place looks like an underground whore house or an underground casino. There is no way a business like this can still be open. While there… A guest was asking to have the floors mopped. Not to mention I wanted to leave the moment I noticed that B RATING.(How in the world did this place get a B… it should be F) My wife thought she was gonna catch an allergic reaction while in there. You wanted buffet, will here you go!!! In addition, those pictures are wayyyyyy outdated. In plain English this place is gross!

This place is definitely worth its lunch special price($ 7.99). It’s not very crowded. A lot of the customers are families and individuals on their lunch break. The noise level is pretty quiet during the daytime. There is parking in the back so it’s convenient. The waiters are relatively patient. Their food is definitely not the best Chinese food I have tasted. It’s very greasy. And the trays don’t get refilled often. The sushi bar has one only type of sushi, California roll, and is almost always empty. The ice cream bar, which is just 4 big tubs of ice cream that you self scoop with one universal scooper placed in a cup of water, looked unsanitary. However they have a wide variety of food that is, again, worth its price. Overall, I’m giving this place 4 stars because, you get what you pay for right?

Where should I begin. First of all when walking in, rather than being greeted at the door the servers yelled from across the business and did not even greet us. Upon sitting down a rude server didnt even give us a chance to sit down and asked us what drinks we wanted while walking to our table!!! The food trays were literally old and empty. I lifted the white rice pot cover and it was absolutely filthy, it looked like it was growing some life form! I was starving so all I ate was some boneless ribs and rice. My girlfriend and I eat out literally every day and I have to say, this was the worst, filthiest, unprofessional, nasty place I have ever eaten. A piece of advice. INVESTSOMEMONEYINTOTHATCRAPHOLEANDCLEANITUP!!! TRAINYOUREMPLOYEESWHATCUSTOMERSERVICEIS. AVOIDTHISPLACEITSHORRIBLE… I even left a 3 dollar tip, hell I should have asked for my money back. By the way sodas were almost 3 dollars as well!

I have to say this place is great! Although if you come later in the day most of the food is cold and a bit stale so I suggest u come somewhere in the afternoon ! They have plenty of deserts and food choices like octopus and fried rice. When I got there there wasn’t much sushi left this place is huge and great to come with family or friends!

I came here on a Saturday, $ 14.00 per person. I was surprised at how BIG it was. There were trays and trays and trays of food. WHEN I GETCLOSER, MOSTOFTHEMWEREEMPTY. The place was not packed at all on top of that. They had the normal selection of Chinese food also pizza salads and on and on. I hesitated to eat the ice cream. Didn’t seem safe to eat, the ice. cream scooper was just sitting out in a lil sink the ran water on the scooper and there was mold all over the sink. I don’t think i would come back to eat here. I didn’t find it very clean and of course the waitresses were RUDEASHELL!!!

Worst Chinese buffet I’ve ever been to. Avoid at all cost… There Is never enough food at all… Dirty silverware and rude service… The soda is nasty and needless to say… It is very overpriced as I wouldn’t give two cents to eat here. Horrible dessert selection. You’re better off going to queens buffet in Atlantic avenue. I would rather die of starvation on a cold winter night instead of coming here again. It’s much like marriage, you’ll regret it… PS: if I could give less than a star I would.

Come in for a lunch special of $ 7.99 from 11 – 3 pm. They have a decent variety of selection in my opinion, such as general tso chicken, chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, French fries, sushi, steak, salmon, shrimp, etc. The staff is attentive from my personal experience, been there numerous of times and I haven’t had a problem with them. The restaurant is decent size.

Like most Chinese buffets they change names and owners periodically. Top China Buffet was known as another name(which I can’t remember). New advertisement of great food selection and the lure of a coupon got me in here again. So off I go for lunch. For $ 7.99 lunch Mon-Fri you get the standard buffet stuff. Not a big deal. Rate 3⁄5. The dinner buffet price is $ 13.00 Mon-Sat. It was packed the day I was here! A bus load of Senior Community Center folks came for their Chinese Buffet outing; they were party animals!

Went on Valentine’s Day to take my kids because the nearby Chilis and CPK were packed. No hostess to seat patrons and when I started to sit a waitress had me move to another side after another waiter told me I could sit any where. I still had my coat on and the same waitress was asking me what I wanted to drink, which I thought was rude. The place was not packed by any means and it seemed as if she was rushing me already. The food looked as though it had been out for quite some time and some trays needed to be replenished so I was walking around more than once trying to feed my son. Patrons seemed to be arriving about 20 minutes after I got there. Apparently, folks go crazy over their crab legs. I guess that’s the only thing they got going for them. They need Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible come in and do a total overhaul because the food and staff was horrible. The décor is typical for a buffet-style place. Luckily, they were having an all-day Valentine’s Day special — $ 12.99(adults) $ 6.99(children). I would not have spent more money than that and the little that I did I felt was too much. I would not come here again unless I had no choice.

This place is okay. Used to be a fan. Had I known it used to have a less than satisfactory health rating, I would’ve skipped this altogether. It’s pretty big inside. if you’re a vegetarian, beware. Many, if not most of the buffet dishes contain pork. I avoided the pork by hitting up the crab rangoon. There’s a teeny-tiny sushi section. There’s never anyone behind the Japanese counter, but there’s scattered pieces of sushi about. The most popular dish at the buffet seem to be the shelled crab. Every time a new batch gets brought out, those crab claws are gone within minutes. The staff isn’t really friendly. Guess it depends. One time I asked for a water refill. I asked nicely, wasn’t rude. The waitress gave me stink-eye. Other separate occasions, the staff was friendly and prompt. I love the tea though. Love Chinese restaurant style tea, period. Something about how tea is made in Asian restaurants… it’s not the same when you try to make it for yourself at home. This place will charge you extra for a pot, which they’ll leave at your table. A lot of variety at the dessert section. The place itself, including the tables and the bathroom could use some sprucing up. The ladies’ room was always disgusting each time I went there. As Hollis W said, it’s not gourmet. It’s not the Russian Tea Room, but a semi-cheapo Chinese buffet. Although there’s cheaper Asian fare to be found on Main Street. Whatever the case, it’s still an alternative to cooking your own meals. But after reading what M.G. stated…146 violations? Yikes! Until further notice, I’ll go to some other place.

My family LOVES to eat at buffets… for EVERY occasion, and I hate it because I don’t eat as much as they do. However, I can see why they like this place because my mom’s a vegetarian and they have enough variety to keep her and everyone else(6 adults, 1 kid) happy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nothing spectacular at all, it’s no East or Harvest buffet, it’s quick and easy Chinese food. The prices are fair too to match the place. It’s relatively clean and they have ample tables. I went here again yesterday and I noticed a lot of people from all different backgrounds come here and it was pretty busy. The sushi guy was making fresh sushi round the clock. All the food was pretty fresh, though the fruits weren’t that sweet yesterday. But it did open my eyes again and give me a new found appreciation for buffets. It works for my family and I’m not one to argue. One thing I will say, upon walking out I don’t know what it was but it smelled like someone took a giant crap right on the corner and the stench continued all the way to the parking lot… I even checked my shoes twice to see if I stepped in anything. It wasn’t there when we arrived but it was definitely there when we were leaving. I don’t know if that’s a reflection of the establishment. but just thought I’d mention it.
