Upscale Furniture

Wow, this place is awesome. The owners were very nice people. I moved to Glendale recently and they gave me a great deal on a futon. They also delivered it for me immediately. Highly recommended.

My wife and I were looking to replace the table and chairs in our kitchen. We knew the design we wanted (tulip base with a marble top) and looked at many of the options online. About the same time, we received a flyer for Upscale Furniture, and decided to check them out. I was prepared for sticker-​shock, based on the name alone, and was pleasantly surprised to find their showroom prices to be more reasonable than expected. It turned out that they didn’t have the style we were looking for on hand, but they showed us a catalogue and we found the right items. When we told the owner, Tin, about the pricing we’d seen for similar sets online (leaving out the fact that delivery could take up to a month or more), he told us he could beat the price, and have the furniture delivered the following day! True to his word, they delivered and assembled the table the next day. Throughout, the staff was patient and helpful, delivering the kind of customer service that you won’t get ordering stuff online. I highly recommend them, and plan to check them first for future needs.

**BED BUGS CAME WITH MY BED**
I purchased a mattress, box spring and frame from Upscale Furniture from the owner Tin on March 6, 2012. It seemed like a good idea at the time because Tin said he would give me free delivery and ensure same day delivery. Little did I know that my new bed would come with BED BUGS!!!
I slept in my new bed for a few nights, but every morning woke with these tiny bumps on my skin. After the awful realization that these bumps were from bed bugs, I called to confront Tin. Tin was very rude to me and would not give me a refund for my bed. He told me to call their manufacturer, Crystal Bedding. I called Crystal Bedding and was told I could return any product if I was not satisfied. I borrowed a friend’s truck and dropped the mattress, box spring and frame off at his store and asked again for my refund. If you read the bottom of your receipt it says there is a «25% restocking fee,» which confirms the fact that they return furniture. Tin refused to give me my money back and said, «I did not hold a gun to your head and make you buy this.» After his remark, I left his mattress, box spring and frame at his store and left without my refund.
So now I am left with no bed, exterminator fees, I threw away all my new sheets, pillows etc. and have been sanitizing every article of clothing I own to make sure it hasn’t been infested with bed bugs. Upscale Furniture has cost me a lot more than just the $ 437 I wasted on a bug infested mattress. I do not want anyone else to go through the hell I’ve been facing since purchasing from Upscale Furniture, so unless you want BED BUGS, DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!

So I just recently bought a couch from the folks at Upscale Furniture. I was brought into the store because it looked as if they had a variety of items and good prices. Sure enough they did. I was able to get my dream couch (sea foam green colored) for a very good price and had excellent customer service. Just today I had my couch delivered. They were conscientious about delivering my couch in great condition and in an efficient way. I was so pleased with the customer service that I will be back to look at a mattress, bed frame, lamps, etc. for my new apt.

I randomly wandered into this place one day and it was a real find. This is a great furniture store with excellent service and a decent selection of a little bit of everything… chairs, couches, art, etc. I scored an amazing couch for $ 1300 that was worth way more. They automatically take money off the list price and you can haggle down. Minn, the guy who worked there, was very desperate for business and was extremely helpful because he wanted to get rid of stuff. Most everything is new and the place is huge so be sure to head upstairs. They did same day delivery and sure enough, Minn was also a mover and helped bring the couch up the stairs! I even kindly asked him to help me move a bookshelf and he did.

Customer service is excellent. It is a no-​pressure, helpful place. Some pieces might be dated or a little too modern, but if you have an idea of what you have in mind, the employees will assist by looking up items in the catalogue. They have many top vendors like Zuo furniture. Most of the newer pieces they keep on the main level towards the front of the store. Upstairs they have tons of mark downs and you can locate a couple good finds. It is very difficult to find a reasonably priced furniture store in Santa Monica, but some how they are able to have San Fernando Valley hole-​in-​the-​wall prices, but in a Lincoln Ave. location that is ideal. Functions and Interior Illusions is across the street, West Elm and Z Gallerie or a few blocks west, the Sofa Factory and Mister Importer are a few blocks South. I would suggest checking out all the different furniture stores, but I am sure you will probably want to come back here after you get a bit of sticker shock, because Upscale furniture does have all the classically modern pieces, custom made items and special order furniture available at a very reasonable price. I would give them 5 stars, but I think they need a Peter Perfect makeover from the Style Network.
