My son and I used to love this place. He especially loves the baked scallop roll, however, the last time I had it there it was cold and lacked flavor. Our server kept forgetting our food and drink refills(I never got my water refilled) Food usually always takes long to be served. I don’t understand why since I’ve gone when it’s empty and yet it still takes a while to be served. Although the staff is very welcome nice their service has always been slow like this so if you come you’ll need to expect that.

Been here multiple times over the years. While service is great and the staff is very friendly, the food just doesn’t cut it. The fish quality here is just not worth the price. Not sure if they changed it, but last time I ordered sashimi, the fish were cut into absolute chunks rather than the traditional slice — and the freshness was questionable to say the least.

Fantastic Sushi and right down the street from me, right in the heart of Glendora. Staff is always friendly and it’s never super crowded. It’s always clean and the Ora is point son! Sushi menu is pretty big and so far everything is delicious(Cajun Tuna sashimi is a must). Parking out front can be difficult sometimes on the weekends but there’s more parking in the rear(tee hee)

I have taken my family there at least 15 times and we have NEVER been disappointed. Quality is amazing. Service is awesome. Very popular place so depending what time you go, might have to wait a little to sit… definitely worth the wait.

I’ve been here several times and each time has been a good experience! Sushi is fresh and absolutely deeeelish! The service is always good and the sushi pieces not too small or too big. Just right and priced reasonably. Atmosphere is nice and clean. The lighting during dinner hours is quite romantic. Do yourself a favor and order the spicy tuna tartare! You will not be disappointed.

Unprofessional attitude by the manager, of all people. Previous reviewer mentioned same problem so this must be a pervasive issue. I went to «happy hour» with my family. The menu has a «happy hour» section that attracts your attention since it is in three separate green boxes with large red lettering. The menu states that certain appetizers are discounted between 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., and also states exclusions to this supposed«happy hour.» We, therefore, ordered a few of the appetizers including some full-priced menu items. When we received the bill, the items are not discounted. We bring this to the attention of the server who then informs the manager, and he comes over to our table. We proceed to inquire about the«happy hour» discount. He negates our inquiry by pointing out that at the very bottom of the page in small lettering, it states that when purchasing alcohol, certain of the appetizers are discounted. He would not budge on this issue although we explained to him that it is definitely not clear due to the design of the menu to draw your attention to the green and red boxes, and by the deliberate use of the small lettering at the very bottom that states that appetizers are discounted with the purchase of alcohol. Even if we would have seen that, there is no indication that this exclusion pertained to the«happy hour.» Very deceptive. When trying to explain this to us, he also made the excuse that he did not understand or speak English well. I have been to many restaurants, both casual and high end. If there has ever been any problem with the food or the bill, there is always an attempt by management to remedy the situation so that the customer is happy, will return, and will recommend the restaurant to others. This manager made the incredibly bad business decision to not honor the discount for a mere $ 9.00. He could have easily said, «I’m sorry for the misinterpretation. I will discount the proper food items, but for future reference, this is what is included/excluded in the happy hour.» Additionally, what type of «happy hour» is this that you are required to purchase alcohol to receive the discount??? What if a customer doesn’t drink alcohol? I have never encountered this exclusion in any happy hour. In addition to the above, this exclusion is discriminatory.

If I could give zero stars I would! Where to begin… I went with my mom during their«happy hour» and ordered a roll, crispy rice, tea, 3 orders of garlic edamame and a seaweed salad. Happy hour reads«½ off appetizers» and then lists the appetizers included in that promotion. We get the bill and none of the appetizers were discounted. When we ask the server about it she replies«oh yeah let me take care of that» she comes back to say«oh did the other server not explain the appetizer deal is only if you buy alcohol». I say no problem and I go grab the menu to see what I missed to make that mistake. I re-read everything and I don’t see where is says that you have to buy alcohol. I bring this to the attention of our server and she says that she’s going to bring the manager. He comes and this is where it gets bad! I explain to him what I’m reading and he responds by laughing at us, looking around with a face of «can anyone believe what I’m hearing right now, these customers must be stupid». He then proceeds to say that he has never had anyone«complain» about this. He then goes on for about 10 minutes about why he is correct and we are wrong. To make this more clear, the happy hour is listed in 3 green boxes with all the options and huge red lettering to attack your attention. Under the 3 green boxes there are the restaurant hours(in small print and visually separate) and then under that in the same print it says«DINEINONLY: ½ off appetizers with the purchase of alcohol». I explain to the manager how the description doesn’t delineate that it applies to happy hour and that it seems to relate to the business hours implying that anytime you order an app and alcohol you get the apps for half off. He also says that because we ordered garlic edamame it does not apply to happy hour and only regular edamame are included. I look on the menu and garlic edamame are not even listed on the menu and in the green boxes(where all of the exclusions are listed) it does not say anything about garlic edamame. He proceeds to talk in a condescending and disrespectful way to us. Everyone in the place is well aware of this and he doesn’t let up. I then tell him that I’m going to pay the check, however he fought tooth and nail for 10 dollars(yup it was just a difference of 10 dollars) just to make us very unhappy and to generate a horrible Unilocal review. He said he didn’t care and that he welcomed the review. And so there you have it! The worst interaction I have ever had with a restaurant. Ohhhh and the service sucks in general and you can never get a servers attention. Picture of the menu is in photos.

Went last night for dinner around 7:30. We were greeted when entering and seated right away. It was not very busy. The gyoza appetizer was very good and not greasy. We ordered a spicy tuna roll and the baked lobster roll. Both rolls were very good. They have Sapporo on tap, so we ordered two large ones. The beer was served in a mason jar cup. I didn’t like this and preferred the traditional tall glasses but whatever. I guess some places feel they must adapt to the community. We also ordered the Ramen. It came with a chicken cutlet on the side. The mango type sauce they put on it was very tasty. The Ramen on the other hard was horrible. It was canned corn, ½ hard boiled egg, a flavorless milky broth and angel hair pasta. This was not even close to ramen. No amount of hot sauce helped it. We hardly touched it and the waited asked if we liked it. We said no. Now good customer service would have taken it off the bill. We didn’t ask for that but that’s what would have been appropriate. This however was not the case. That’s fine I ordered it, I can pay for it. My other complaint is they leave the front door open, so the whole time we had little nats and a bigger bug flying around our table. That was super irritating. Overall the service and food was good. Given that this place is walking distance from my house, we will continue to go. If something else was walking distance I might not be will to pay the high prices given the service is good but not great. I hope the next time we go we like everything we try.

We have been going here since before the previous owners, and recently went there this week for a birthday celebration. PRO: food is creative and very good, parking is great, location in the village is nice. Sushi chef is very good and fish is very fresh. CON: Very Busy. Wait staff is running like crazy so it takes a long time to order and to get food. Once food is delivered its sometimes hard to get their attention. They have put as many tables as possible in the seating area, so the place is very loud. We went here to celebrate a birthday. I mentioned this when we arrived, and again halfway through the meal so they would not forget. No birthday event. I mentioned it again when the bill was delivered. Still no birthday event, ice cream, or whatever they may serve. For us the service rated a «poor» but the food was good. Not a place to go for a special event. Recommendation: hire more wait staff, and put in some sound baffles.

Very nice location and great management. I come here once a week and I am always very satisfied with the freshness of the fish and the variety of their rolls. Sushi n I’s reasonable pricing and quick service, makes it easy to make it a habit. The only area in which I would like to see improvement would be in their waiters, they tend to look a little chaotic when busy. Update: these boys have really stepped it up, good job fellas

Since my family and I moved here… we have loved the small town environment and make every effort to support mom and pop businesses, restaurants in old town Glendora and local eateries and shops. We decided to try out our local sushi place here in old town Glendora. Read the reviews and the menu looked appealing. It was a Sunday evening hoping the place wouldn’t be busy and it wasn’t. My family and I were seated right away. We looked around and looked decent to have a nice dinner with a balanced ambiance. As we were seated, the waiter(half Japanese) didn’t even give us any menus. We waited and looked at the other customers and found that some were waiting to get there orders and others waiting to get their bill. It seemed that the restaurant was under staffed. First off, I have to address the etiquette of the waiter that was serving us. He is half Japanese. My wife and I ordered hot green tea. As he came out with the pot and placed our cups onto our table. My wife and I noticed the waiter had placed his whole thumb inside our cup! What waiter would have his thumb inside our cup when his hand and fingers should be on the outside of the cup. That was just wrong! We addressed it with the female owner and she had a distraught look on her face just as my wife and I did when we saw that big thumb in our cup where the hot green tea was supposed to be poured into. Who would drink a cup right after someone puts there whole thumb pressed on the bottom of your cup? That half Japanese waiter needs to learn how to place a cup without having his fingers inside the cup. Now to the food… I ordered one of the specialty Sushi Roll called«Oh Yes!» And I have to say it had the«Oh» in there at first glance but not quite the«Yes» when I tasted it. It was too vinegary and the sushi literally fell apart when I picked it up with my chopsticks. My wife order the bento box and I have to say her bento box was the best item on the menu with the best value and the variety. Definitely will try that next time. The other waiter and the female owner kept checking if everything was okay, which is always expected. One last thing about serving food… don’t stick the utensil in the salad as you can see in the picture. Place the utensil on the table on top of a napkin. Chucking a fork in my salad is not appropriate for a dining experience. Inexcusable. It was our first time trying the place. Expected the norm in customer servicing, but that thumb was just disgusting. The specialty roll wasn’t the best. My wife and I made the most of the dinner and didn’t expect much from there. However, were still inclined to try more from the menu. We hope the next time we’re there… They would have read this review and made some changes for the better. Until next time…

My first review was based on the lunch special. This is based on an appetizer that is way too expensive! It was the Hawaiian ahi poke. I looked on the internet and it said $ 10.95, but when I called the gentleman said the price was going to be $ 14.12. The subtotal being $ 12.95 + $ 1.17 tax. Way too pricey for a poke. I’ve had better poke at other places for less and a better amount of poke in it!!! You guys really need to update your prices on the internet!

After mostly coming here out of convenience over the past year, I have come to really enjoy and appreciate this sushi place more! I read some negative reviews about customer service, so maybe I am just getting lucky every time(but I doubt it because it’s been pretty consistent); the service is always really great… there are two different young-ish guys(I never catch their names unfortunately) that usually wait on us and they are both friendly and accommodating. I’m a food snob, but not so snobby that I will dock an establishment like this if the wait staff is not able to answer every detailed question I have about the food. I would expect that at a super high-end joint. If it’s a «date» for the hubby and I, we typically sit at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs have always been on point as well and easily accommodate special requests. The actual food has been consistently good quality… and as I mentioned in my previous review, this is a big deal in a town like Glendora where diversity of eats usually has a hard time grabbing hold. VERY glad to see this business continue to experience success and plan to continue my patronage. Now I’m craving sushi! Gotta go…

Late in the evening seeking a interesting different style of food, we came across this wonderful Sushi establishment about 20 minutes before they were to close. We were received with a warm welcome and seated quickly. There were only a few patrons enjoying their evening dining on some enjoyable looking dishes. In fact, we inquired from these patrons on a few of the names of their food. We ordered our food that promptly arrived and it was immensely delicious. Such an enjoyable evening with great company and fine food.
