I still like to come here however twice the same waiter has helped me and twice he purposely waited over 15 minutes to take our order as I was seated on both occasions by 5:45 at the latest. I then placed my order for early bird steak two separate occasions and he refused to honor the price stating the system locked him out because he took an additional 5 minutes to put the order in at 6:08 pm. He refused to budge. We noticed that he was wandering around in the meantime. If you don’t want to offer the early bird menu don’t make up a story. I ordered normal steak and it was smaller than the early bird. I usually tip very well but this was unbelievable.

Super disappointing service last night at the Golden Spur. We were seated promptly, however, it took 15 minutes before someone realized we hadn’t been helped by a server yet. They finally checked to see who’s section we were in, and we had a server visit us about 3 minutes later. Our server was really friendly, but service was still slow. Took forever to get refills. Servers would pass by with water pitchers without stopping to refill our water glasses. Food came out much slower than the people around us who actually much later than us. Also, the girl bringing bread around wasn’t very pleasant. In terms of food: shrimp cocktail, halibut, and potatoes au gratin were to die for. On the other hand, the salmon was bland as could be. Sadly, I don’t think we will be returning!

Do not get the seared ahi tuna salad. It tasted like dish soap. Lots of gum required afterwords.

Unfortunately we went today for a pre mothers day lunch and all I can say is, what a disappointment! 1 server, no hostess, no bus boys, no bartender and I would say behind the grill a no skill cook. The poor waitress had 7 tables to tend to, with 2 big parties, where was their management? Being Mothers day weekend, a manager should have been on hand. Obviously our service was horrible, 2 hours to get our meal. Broccoli Penne, had more broccoli than anything, french dip sandwich, the bread was stale, Asian chicken salad, dressing was awful ordered sweet potato fries they finally came to the table by 4:00 mind you we made 1:30 reservations. It’s unfortunate that a place that use to be so good, is failing because of poor management.

Nothing to brag about. Food came out cold for both my wife and I. Oso bucco had no flavor just was not to my satisfaction for the price. My wife’s lasagna was also cold in the middle. I probably will never go there again. Food 1 – 10 we rate it a 2 Service rate it a 7 interior décor rate it an 8

Old school since 1918. This place has been around for a long time, it’s still serving up those famous steaks. We arrived on a Saturday night with reservations and they were very busy at 800pm. They told us the wait will be longer than usual to get out the food, we didn’t mind because we were not about to go look for another restaurant. We placed our orders and food ended up being pretty good, not the best out there mind you, but good. The service was great considering how busy they were. It’s a fun place to hang out even if you just want a drink at the bar and watch the live entertainment.

This place has really gone down hill. The service is not up to the prices and thr kitchen is always very slow on Friday or Saturday. They cannot hsndle even the restsursnt being ¾ full. Our experience started terrible when after we sat down we found a host of little bugs on our table. We were moved, but we wstched that table all night from our seats and the table cloths were never replaced. At least they didn’t sest anyone else there. This would have been reason enough to leave, but we stuck it. So, the next ossue was our appetizers/soup coming out at all different times. When questioned, the reason was just that the kitchen was backed up. The fact that this isnt communicated and we as guests have to convey that the timing matters. Our order for entrees was a minimum 1 hour from order to delivery. How is this acceptable? Worse, the server stopped by to tell us our food was being plated. It was was then 15 minutes to receive the food. The etiquette by staff overall was poor. Reaching across people. Taking orders out of normal female/male order. Handing food across the table its a complete lack of training. Server would disappear for 10 minutes at a time. We’ve been here many times, but the ownership change had definitely not been a good thing. Sadly, i cant really provide my food review because the experience would keep me away, even with the food good.

Not sure what happened but we use to love their food. First lets start with what we observed, we walk in and the hostess is normaly dressed up and friendly. Not this time! The waiter was okay but everything was brought to the table at ackward times. Bread came when we were almost done with the salad, and three pieces were in the basket for two pleople. I asked for a glass of water and I received a glass with lipstick on it. We haven’t been at Golden Spur for about a year and normally we order steaks but this thing we had Salmon and Lasagna. The salmon is weird and hardly had any flavor, the lasagna looked flat with a ton of beefy tasting sauce and just not good. While eating I asked for ketchup and the waiter finally brought it half way through my dinner. Definately not the experience we were looking for :(

I’ve been in Glendora over 17 years and live close by but never came here, I now know what I have been missing! My fellow realtors always go here and recommend it highly. My two uncles were in from out of town and wanted a nice meal, and I’m so glad we chose the«Spur». Ali our server was fabulous, he took good care of us with excellent service! The food was wonderful, and the atmosphere was beautiful. I had the top sirloin with veggies and baked potato that was so good! My husband had the spaghetti & meatballs which I was very impressed with being Italian. The garlic bread they bring to table is really good, and goes great with their salad with yummy blue cheese dressing! We ended the meal with their famous carrot cake and also cheesecake on top of raspberry purée, they were both fabulous. We got there right at 5pm and were pleasantly surprised they had early bird dinners, we got a great meal at an even better price. We will definitely be back very soon!

Came here last night for my birthday, and I loved every minute of it. The looks outside are deceiving. Looks kind of old school/casual on the outside, but when you walk inside, the dining room is beautiful(don’t judge this place by the outside, it’s a RTE66 landmark, so why remodel it?). Our party of 4 was promptly greeted by a hostess, and given an option of where we’d prefer to sit. The waitress(dark hair) was extremely nice and efficient. She went out of her way to make sure all of us were happy throughout the whole meal. The food was EXCELLENT. 3 of us got the prime rib and my son got a burger/fries. He scarfed the burger down. The prime rib was seasoned to perfection and cooked to my liking. Food is kinda pricey, but the quality and taste is exceptional. Definitely worth it. Decent priced drinks though! Tall Blue Moons for $ 6. When the bill came, We used a voucher, and they accepted it with no problem. I definitely recommend looking them up on if you wanna save a little money(TIP: The voucher can only be used in the dining room area only. It’s not accepted in the bar area). The other positive reviews about the owner are all true. He is so nice & welcoming. He went out of his way to introduce himself to me and my family, and he came back a couple times to check on us. One of the coolest guys I’ve ever met. He also sings karaōke, so he got on stage and sung me Happy Birthday. The crowd(almost 20 people) also sang along. How cool is that??? After that, he sang a Vicente Fernandez song after that and dedicated it to us(dude, he has serious skills on the mic). This was a very very memorable experience for me. One that I will never forget. I’m so happy my wifey took me there. We’re definitely coming back. If anyone from the Golden Spur is reading this, Thank you for making my birthday feel special!

Delicious food. My steak was cooked perfectly! And I have to mention, grass fed beef! The outside looks deceiving, but the atmosphere inside was really pretty! We were able to take advantage of the ‘early/late bird special’ which was very nice to our wallet! We topped of our night with the carrot cake, which was moist and sweet. We’d return again. PS They have live music on the weekends and Karaōke mon-thur

It was hot I don’t think Ac was working. Brunch was 2 only but, will give a 3 considering it was only 14.95. Not much of a salad choice. They only had 1 guy making omelets which were good waffles and I think they were stuffed French toast dry and very hard. What kept us happy was John he kept the champagne flowing.

What a great restaurant. I took my wife here for a date night, and we were very happy with our experience. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was fun and lively, and the service was very good. The owner and his wife even stopped by our table to see how we were doing. Live music(classic rock cover band) with a room full of fun people added to the fun environment, though lessened the romantic vibe a bit. We will definitely be back!

What used to be my Go-To restaurant whenever I visited my Mother in Glendora, is now my Never-go-to restaurant. Six months ago I had a terrible meal. Tiday being my birthday, we decided to give this old favorite another try. Ugh! The famous Spur French Dip was awful… flavorless except for the old meat flavor. My onion soup was served cold. I am not feeling very well an hour after this meal. This restaurant has gone so far down hill and it really makes me sad. It’s beautiful inside but the food is awful. Ugh!

THISPLACEISUNDERNEWOWNERSHIP! I had been to the golden spur a couple years back, and the service was TERRIBLE! However, ever since the new Italian owners took over, I have learned to love this place again. The food is good, and they have grass fed/organic meat, which most restaurant do not! The owner also goes out of his way to introduce himself to you and also offer entertainment daily!

Love the old-school vibe and by old-school I don’t mean kitschy or retro. It’s just a classy, lil’ more on the formal side, restaurant. How many of those are left in the SGV? I’ve only ever received excellent service, the bar is nice, and while on the pricier side, it’s worth the extra money spent. Don’t go to a chain for your lobster or steak. Support places like The Golden Spur! Grass fed beef makes me happy. And when your server asks if you want more bread, the answer is YES. Always say yes to that delicious buttered bread!

I had lunch at The Golden Spur in Glendora, CA on 8÷26÷2015. I’ve been there a couple of times before. This time there was three of us(my friends Alan, Karl and me). Two of us had the beef dip sandwich and one of us had their Reuben. The other two had fries while I had the onion rings. All three of us had iced tea. The bill for each of us was $ 17.44 not counting tip. Our server did a fine job. Plus, I took photos.

Well… this is my 2nd visit here and I waited to review, hoping I was wrong the 1st time… Sadly, this visit confirmed my thoughts. Overpriced food, okay service, and overall disappointing. I got the Chilean Sea Bass with risotto, everything was mushy with an orange taste. I should have gotten the rib eye, which was actually very tasty, but 40 something dollars. The last time we came I had the same thoughts, pricey food. I felt ripped off. I suggest going across the street to Clubhouse 66
