Best mens hair cut ever. When finished cutting, a great massage of sholders, neck and head. Not only do I look great, I feel so relaxed. 5 stars. I. …

I have been coming here for over 20 years. Maria KNOWS how to cut hair in the Barber Style. She is NOT a stylist. I have tried other places when she was closed and was butchered. Ignore the review from the racist below. this is an OLDSCHOOL Barbershop, just happens that the GREAT barber is a woman.

As soon as I walked in and saw her face glaring at us as if we stole her tamales, I KNEW I should’ve walked away… But we were there, my family and I, and I promised my son I would get him his first«buzz-cut» at a real barber shop. My! did we make a mistake. Maria, the woman who claims to be owner of this barber shop would be the one taking my son for his cut. She asked what he would like and he stated«a buzz-cut!» in an excited voice. She looked at him and I as if he was crazy. Now granted, my son is a stunner so she may have felt as if it wasn’t the best idea for a buzz cut, but the customer’s always right, correct?! NOTHERE! I confirmed with my statement, «Dad wants it for him too» and she glared an evil stare at me again. What did we do wrong? We felt that maybe she’d be happier if we took a walk in beautiful downtown Glendora(we would) and came back when he was done. He’s a big boy(13) and we went next door to a great clothing store Da Avere(that’s another review — a 5STAR review, coming soon!) a few steps away. When we came back we sat down and Maria looked at us as if she were done. My son’s hair was fairly short on the sides, but still long at top! I stated, «oh, no ma’am, he wants a buzz cut.» There again was the evil glare from her. She then took her SCISSORS(not the clippers!) and trimmed another ¼ inch off… I’m not exactly certain what was going on. I looked at my wife and asked her to tell her in Spanish what we would like and what my son originally asked for since Maria was speaking Spanish earlier, I figured she might not understand and since my wife is Mexican and she too felt that there was a barrier of some sort, she was about to approach her and that’s when things got crazy… You see, Maria never let that happen. She immediately started going off about understanding English and told me that I didn’t understand numbers! «You must not know numbers — you probably never got math or numbers!» WHAT?! I was SHOCKED that a business owner would say such a demeaning and negative thing to a client. Telling your paying customer that they are uneducated — dumb? Anyway, Maria continued on… ANDON — proving herself to be the ignorant one. She told me «You asked for a number two on the sides, not a buzz cut with a number two!» I stated that’s okay, maybe there was a misunderstanding — can you please just give him a buzz-cut with the number 2?”. Maria said«FINE! I will have to charge you for TWOHAIRCUTS!!» I said, «Excuse me, why? I’ve had many haircuts and so has my son — if the customer wants more cut off I have NEVER heard of getting charged for two cuts!» She then went OFF about us changing our minds and spitting demeaning, nasty things toward us. I asked Maria very nicely, «Can you please just finish my son’s hair so we can end this craziness?» Then, she started trying to show my son the different clipper sizes and telling him he needs to learn what he wants and know what to ask for! That was it… I didn’t want to raise my voice, but nobody treats my family like that! I told Maria in a very commanding voice to finish up, which she FINALLY did, and we paid her the money and we began to exit this nut-house. As we were leaving, she started telling me she’s been happily married for 47 years(I DOUBTHERHUSBANDISHAPPY) for some weird reason! I told her not to worry about us ever coming back and that we will be sure to write a review so that nobody else makes the same mistake we did. In all, this was the worst experience I have EVER had in any haircut establishment. This is no barber shop — it’s the nest of a wicked, unhappy lady that needs to retire or find a job where there’s no customer interaction. If you do go in(you brave soul), avoid the misery of Maria. Her only purpose is to ruin your day. Remember, «misery loves company» and Maria is the personification of that statement! She’ll do her best to bring you down! Move over Medusa! Maria’s glares make yours look like child’s play! I’m done…

I have been going here for about fifteen years now. The most down-to-earth people you can imagine. They treat your hair like your hair, and they never have a quick«get in and get out of here» mentality like the chain haircut stores. No appointment, just walk right in. Maria or another person will be right with you within five to ten minutes. I highly recommend coming here.
