They have a wonderful selection of wines and I am always so happy with the customer service! I can call anytime of day and they let me know if they have what I’m looking for or not. What a great spot to get a diverse collection of wine’s and liquor.

This is the third review I’ve done on Unilocal and the first negative one, and I think for good reason. Let’s face it, these are state liquor stores so there’s only two things you can really do wrong — have a poor selection or have a rude staff. This store manages to achieve both deficiencies on some level. Every other liquor store I go to has the Sake I’m looking for, but for some reason this store is the only one that doesn’t carry it. I go here when it’s convenient, but a few days ago I returned to the store because the cashier forgot to deduct an instant coupon from my bill the last time I was there. I even presented it to him but we were talking and I probably distracted him. I didn’t catch it at the time but when I got home I saved the receipt and the coupon knowing that I’d be back fairly soon. I returned 29 days later and the store manager, Kevin, said«I’m not going to credit you. The vendor just came last night to restock these coupons and you could have just pulled one off a bottle right now.» I was very polite and didn’t make a scene — I just said, «OK.» He said, «I’m not going to call you a liar, but…» Then he said, «You bought this back in April?! No, no.» I’m sorry, is that unusual? It was less than 30 days! It’s only mid-May! Ya know, sometimes 30 days will cross over the monthly threshold! I’m not going to bring in an old receipt and steal a $ 2 coupon off a bottle. I’m not sure ANYONE would have the wherewithal(or time) to save a receipt in the hopes of stealing a coupon off a bottle 29 days later. Ugh. I’ll go to another store from now on – one with my sake and a reasonable store manager. UPDATE: For the fun of it, I intentionally waited a couple of days past 30 days and went to a different liquor store(in Marchwood) just to see if 30 days has anything to do with anything. No big surprise, they gleefully credited the coupon and in return I spent another $ 120 on liquor. Of course, some of that was sake. :-)
