We attended a low-scale(no catering — we brought in pizza, chips and brownies), minimally decorated, no booze school function here. We were VERY lucky to have a member of our school community who knows the owner. This is a very nice(and importantly — large) ballroom which easily accomodated our group of 175(with plenty of room to spare and a large dancefloor). Would I have my own wedding here? Probably not. But for other events — family reunions, etc, it’s a good pick. I can’t speak to their in-house catering as we brought in our own food.(Again — someone knew the owners, you normally have to use their food.)

I would agree this is a hidden gym in Delco. Very pretty, brightly lit, pastel colored room. I attended an all class reunion here with approx 150 people and we had plenty of space and never felt crowded. The dance floor was big and fun. Outdoors there is a covered bridge that crosses a small creek and I believe it would be a beautiful place to take wedding photographs. There is covered outdoor seating too which looks very nice. I saw a previous reviewer mention the cemetery which frankly has been there at least 80 years before the ballroom and none of our group felt weirded out by it. Parking is a bonus here. Plenty of it. Well marked and managed.

This is an event venue for weddings, parties, birthdays, etc. Though I haven’t had anything organized here, I have been here twice for events. Once roughly five years ago, and another recently. The space itself is fairly large, big enough to accomodate 200 people or so, with a smallish outside gardeny area, and a descent parking lot. If you really don’t like cemeteries, you might be a little put-off about it, though. A cemetery surrounds this property on three sides(in back, and on both sides). It was pretty clean, and the food served was your typical big-event large serving foods — pastas, breads, salads, etc.

A Hidden Gem in Glenolden, Delaware County, PA. I recently attended an affair at the Oaks Ballroom and left impressed. The room was bright, spacious and had direct access to an outdoor patio complete with a bridge overlooking a creek. The buffet offered a Caesars Salad, Roast Pork Sandwiches, tender Chicken Piccata, perfectly cooked string beans, roasted potatoes and stuffed shells. Mostly I was impressed that I didn’t have a single complaint about any of the food served. The staff was friendly, courteous and efficient. The open bar was well stocked and managed to avoid a waiting line. My only comment was that their are several rooms, when I arrived, I couldn’t find the party. I even thought that I might be in the wrong place although there were plenty of cars in the parking lot. Functions should be posted in the main lobby of the building so attendees could easily identify their party. I would definitely recommend The Oaks Ballroom.
