Not an extremely positive experience, and thankful this was my first stop for gown shopping, and not my last. I was really looking forward to trying on on-trend dresses at affordable prices, with the website and the owner assuring that they carry dresses in only impeccable conditions. Great! And with what I was told a seriously awesome selection of dresses in plus sizes. I gave the owner my name, sizing information, and style, and she scheduled me with Hope. I got to the shop with my BFF, and there were two other customers there being serviced and taking up the entire shop, and it took almost a HALFHOUR of us standing near the door and looking around at dresses for us to even be acknowledged. And then we waited almost an additional half hour(so an entire hour past our set appointment time) before we even began being serviced. Then, both of the staff seemed totally in the dark and had no idea I even had an appointment. And by the way, neither of them were Hope. I was expecting at least to be greeted, and maybe to even have a few dresses set aside. Nope! I tried on a few dresses that fit, but most of them were either the wrong size or totally the wrong style(very dated looks that are bad for my body shape). It was also a 90-degree day and there were no fans at the shop at all. It was misery. Worth noting, too, that almost every dress I tried on was either stained or ripped. One of the display dresses had spiders hanging out in the tulle. I was really disappointed. Once we actually got someone working with us, the experience was OKAY, and I did get an idea of what sorts of silhouettes I’ll be pursuing, but overall I’m pretty disappointed in the experience, and will most likely not be heading to their second shop in Albany.

They have tons of gowns in all different styles and prices. I have not been to the Albany location yet, so this is just based on my experience at Glens Falls. Eliza was very helpful in picking out styles that were flattering on me. I was the only person there during my appointment, but towards the end another appointment showed up and you could tell that Eliza was sort of rushing off to help them instead. One suggestion I would make is to buy a dress that is close to your actual size so that you aren’t stuck having to pay an arm & a leg for alterations. They refer you out to a seamstress for alterations & don’t offer them in house. And this advice is not at all specific to Bride & Gown, but I feel it should be included in this review since it is relevant to my experience here. I was definitely swayed by the great deal on the dress and ended up buying it even though it was 3 – 4 sizes too big on me, without thinking of how costly the alterations would be. After I bought my dress at Bride & Gown I ended up buying a second of the exact same dress in my size to avoid the high alteration cost. Most consignment/sample bridals stores have a strict no return policy, but Eliza bought my first dress back on consignment which was very helpful.

This is one of the best bridal shops around. She has a big assortment of wedding gowns to choose from so you can get whatever you are looking for. But what makes this shop unique is Eliza, the owner. She has a excellent eye for fashion and will work with you to get exactly what you are looking for. I would definitely recommend that anyone who is looking for a dress for a special occasion visit Eliza.

I had a wonderful experience at Bride and Gown while searching for my wedding dress. I made an appointment after I saw their dresses at a wedding expo. Within a few minutes of arriving for my appointment they asked me my style preferences. As I looked around they pulled a number of beautiful dresses for me to try on. I had about 8 gorgeous dresses to try on in the dressing room. Out of the 8 I ended up getting the very first dress I tried on. It is truly the dress I imagined I would wear on my wedding day and all at a very affordable price! Thank you Bride and Gown!!!

Love this place! Brought my wedding dress here for re-sale. Did not want to deal with trying to sell it on my own. Had a great experience. Sold in about 6 months with no hassle. Love the atmosphere and all of the stunning choices as well if you’re looking for a wedding or prom gown. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Misleading! Beware brides– I was not properly informed prior to going to my appointment that ALL gowns are first come first serve! Nothing can be ordered, half the gowns were bought via consignment with a ridiculous resell price! Fell in live with a gown that I later found out all of this info PLUS the gown was marked $ 1400 with it needing MAJOR repairs! Wanted to sell it for $ 1000 when it needed more than $ 500 in repairs. I felt pushed into making a purchase that day, while I was in front of other brides. I didn’t feel like my opinions were listened too, my maid of honor had to speak up when dresses were brought to us and they had everything on them that I said I DIDN’T want. There were too many other appointments at the same time without enough room!
