The meals are OK, actually decently tasty, just small and getting smaller. I used to be able to stretch my lunch into 2 meals, now barely enough for 1 meal. So I’ve gone elsewhere and glad I did. Go to David’s Asian Bistro on York Rd between Jenkintown & Abington and you will be glad you did. Copious, delicious portions including soup [Jasmine charges extra for yucky soup], white, brown, or fried rice, and fruit [complimentary] for dessert.

It pains me to write this review, but I’ve concluded that Jasmine has huge consistency issues. The last three times we’ve ordered from Jasmine, I got the same thing: Pad Kee Mad(gluten free). The first time, it was good, but unfortunately not prepared in a gluten free manner. The second time it was and was excellent. Last night, I guess the cook thought gluten free meant«sans sauce», because I simply got oiled noodles. This is not acceptable. My wife was also disappointed with her meal last night, but has been previously quite satisfied. We’re simply not willing to roll the dice any more and having to hope for a good food night.

Consistently great food and I’ve tried a variety of items on the menu! Some of our favorites are the Beef & Broccoli, Shrimp Szechuan and Shrimp Fried Rice but I really haven’t had anything that wasn’t good(Shrimp and Chinese Veggies, General’s, Shrimp Tempura, and their Hot & Sour soup, etc.). This is the only place we order Chinese food from in the area.

Very very bland food. Nothing interesting. The Chinese restaurants in nearby Chestnut Hill are much better.

I’ve only ordered takeout and only once, but it included 3 apps and seven entrees, and it was all really, really bad. I don’t understand the reviews claiming that this place is different than the average suburban junk-Chinese joint, because that’s exactly what it is. Flavorless, gloppy sauces, not a trace of heat to the dishes that are supposed to be spicy. Bright food-coloring reds and bland browns. Some of the worst, underdone, unseasoned and reheated spare ribs I’ve ever had. The least offensive item were the egg rolls and fried dumplings, which I ordered for my kids and which were indistinguishable from the frozen grocery variety. The interior is nicer than most similar places, and the folks behind the front counter seemed friendly, but the hunt for decent Chinese outside of Chinatown goes on.

My food came out room temperature… I thought Chinese food was always cooked fresh but I learned my lesson. When I complained the waiter then heated my food in the microwave and brought out a hot plate but food was only hot in spots and still room temperature/cold in other spots on the plate! I can’t believe this place!!! Vegetable Delight Lunch Special

It’s Almost 5 stars… why not in just a moment… For those looking for the quick review… go here. It’s good. Nice atmosphere, fast and polite service, and very good Chinese/American food. The long of it : As a kid, I fondly recall a few Sunday nights at my local Chinese restaurant with my family. The owner knew my fathers name, and they always shook hands when we came in. Some things, like the Pu-Pu platter simply did not require ordering, they just came to the table, as did copious amounts of duck sauce, spicy S&B mustard, and crispy noodles that were always fresh. It was a warm and inviting place, red carpeting, and requisite aquarium, and seats that were well worn but never uncomfortable. I was a picky eater as a kid, and my lo mein never even came close to a vegetable. It was dark and not too saucy and delicious. I graduated to pepper steak, then to… well, lets just say I came to like it all. The food always tasted fresh and there was always lots to share. Somewhere, somewhen, places like this died off… and were replaced by the Taste King and Queens of the world, the take-out only joints, and just sub par Chinese food in general. Jasmine is everything you remember loving about going to a Chinese restaurant with your folks in 1983. If this place only had a Flux Capacitor… Every Dish was not amazing. Some were good but lacked some spice or flavor. Some chicken dishes need to be ordered as white meat, if that is what you prefer. The fifth star can’t be had, but it’s still worth your time and money to visit. Go here. Thank me later.

Probably the best Chinese food we have ever had. And that’s saying a lot as we are New Yorkers and there is a Chinese place on every corner. The go to is the chicken and broccoli. The sauce is perfect. Not too light and watery either. The pork fried rice is jammed with pork as well. It’s almost perfect Only drawback is once and awhile I get a seafood taste in something that was fried in a deep fryer like a general tsos. It’s like the chicken and fish were cooked together Great spot. Fast take out time too

We walked in the night after Christmas to an enchanting & beautifully appointed restaurant. We were greeted by our wonderful & engaging server but the fantasy ended shortly thereafter went out came the food. Our trio of diners consumed egg drop soup, hot and sour soup that was hot but not sour, lo mein with invisible chicken and lots of grease, cold bright orange chicken and vegetables with garlic sauce. Would have been appropriate on October 31. And lastly shrimp in lobster sauce bland & flavorless & nary a vegetable to be had at the table. Unfortunately the décor & service do not outweigh the awful cuisine. Won’t be back.

They have always been consistent but just at being okay. The food never really draws me in. The service is very good though and they always make sure you have a full glass of water!

Not authentic Chinese, not PF Chang’s, either. Bad service. Water chestnuts look like chicken so there are plenty of them in your chicken. Tofu dish is terrible. Molded smell, dark inside. Pretty cheap but nothing like Chinatown or real Asian fusion.

The waiter was really nice and attentive. I enjoyed the hot tea and bowl of fried noodles(I think it was fried noodles) that was brought out while I looked through the menu. I had the Thai Pineapple Chicken and it was really good. It was flavored well and I loved the chunks of pineapples. Yum. The food presentation was also nice(carrot slices shaped into a rose… what?!). I also appreciated how a bowl of rice was brought out with the meal. It also amazed me how quick the food brought out. I had a good time until the end when another waiter started to clear the plates while I were still there. Why the rush, dude?

This place is fantastic. Their Gung Bao chicken is delicious. The egg roll is also crispy and tasty. The food comes out lightening quick and the portions are very generous. The only complaint I have is that it can take a long time to get someone back to the table once the entrees go down. If you want to get your bill in a timely fashion, ask for it when they bring your entrée. You may also have to flag someone down for more water.

it’s raining. I’m miserable and wet. The dentist I work with wants me to get lucnh and go to the bank(ok errand girl much?) So I decide since I have never tried jasmine, I was going to do it. OMG am I glad I did. I am a serious hot and sour soup junkie. This is officially the best I’ve had in Glenside. Hot and spicy with the perfect amunt of borth. YUMMMMM! Next course was chicken and shrimp in basil sauce. Extra spicy asked for(not hot enough for me though). Huge Shrimp and delecatable chicken, I could eat it again now. The inside of the restaurant smelled and looked very clean and the staff was very polite. I can not wait to go back for dinner!!!

The food was a 3 – 3.5 and the service was a solid 4, ambiance also a 4. Very Accommodating! They fixed up more seats and tables when we came with more people than our reservation was for and eagerly put the cake in the fridge that we brought for the birthday lunch. Also at the end when we were singing and having cake, they took a picture of us with their personal camera and brought us a picture printed already before we left. Very nice extra gesture, which I haven’t seen at a place that wasn’t a 5 star expensive dining experience or kid’s Chuck-E –Cheese. The decorations in there is what I’m used to, looks like any middle of the road to upscale chinese restaurant back home in honolulu, the kind that my family eats at all the time, so I felt quite comfortable in there(white linens, cermanic white plates, tea pots…) There was free won ton chips for apps, which is different and not in a bad way! The food came out in the timely fashion, and although all the dishes were between $ 10 – 14 for lunch, the portions were quite generous and one dish could be shared by two in a normal situation. We had a large party, so opted for 6 dishes to be shared family style. We did have to flag down the waiter quite a bit but he brought fresh tea, water and rice with a little urging. His humor and personality made up for any lack of prompt service. The food was fine, at first I thought the menu looked like any takeout type service in the area, which I dont consider«real» chinese food. However, even with General Tso chicken on the menu, the thai seafood curry had qaulity scallops, shrimp, and whole lobster tail. The peking duck was OK but i’ve had better(not as crisp and the buns werent right), all the other things we got were just fair to good, but not WOW. Of course in center city there are all of the good eats for chinese food, but out here in the burbs, this is A-Ok. One bad/good thing-no cell service inside!(sprint, tmobile and At&T), must step outside to make a call and I couldn’t receive anything, which might actually be a plus in my book. There is a time for food, and a time for texting. Nuff said. Also a BYOB with a beer distributor and Liquor store down the street.
