My Nikon 3200 was out of warranty, so I took it to Camera Doc. When the problem recurred, they replaced two more parts at no charge, which meant a lot. Camera works great now. They could be more proactive on updating customers when their camera will be ready, as I went to pick it up and it wasn’t ready when they promised and had to come back. But they were invested in making sure I was satisfied. It’s a great resource to have nearby.

No! Took my Canon EOS70D to be repaired because Phototronics in Winnetka advised this was the place to go. Dropped off camera, gave explanation and example by showing him. They said they’d call me by Friday. The following Tuesday, I called them, because they had not called back, and they said the problem was with the OTHER lens that was not on the camera(?) They had to repair that lens. Took my credit card on the phone for the parts they needed. I thought, well, ok, I’m not the expert, but it sounded weird. He said that I could pick up the camera and the regular lens at any time, they were cleaned and fine. When I went to pick it up, guess what? Exactly same problem still existed. Their answer was«use the pop-up flash and it will be fine.» I went and picked up the camera, asked for a refund, which they quickly gave me, and will take it elsewhere.

Oh where to begin? I will NEVER do business here nor would I send my worst enemy here. First off, I was quoted 2 – 3 weeks for a fix on my Nikon D80. After 4 weeks I had to call them to ask what was happening. It wasn’t until then they told me that the part I needed was on back order, and they’d call me by the end of the month. I called them with two days left in the month. When I did call they forgot who I was, they didn’t have answers for me and told me they’d call me back by the end of the day. They didn’t. I called again and it wasn’t until I threatened to take my camera elsewhere did they magically tell me it was fixed. Then, I go in and the gentleman didn’t understand why I was upset. I was upset because no one called me to tell me that my camera, which I use for work and lost business on, was going to take longer. He just kept explaining why they had to fix yet another part on my camera. I got upset, put my debit card on the counter and told him to just charge me and I’m leaving. THENHETHREWMYDEBITCARDBACKATME. I kid you not. Not once did I get a true apology.

I brought my Nikon S600 in to have a stuck shutter examined. After a month of me calling and being told he was waiting for a part, I finally picked it up for $ 80. It worked for about a month and then the shutter began to stick again. New part? it seemed unlikely. I brought it back three weeks ago and have called three times, being told each time I would be called back, even with a specific date and time, but never receive the call. I feel frustrated and suspicious. I don’t know if he’s being dishonest or not. I can barely understand his English which doesn’t help at all.
