During that first major snowfall of the season back in November, a giant tree branch fell on my car. It would be hyperbole to say that the car was crushed (although my spirits were). The vehicle was drivable but sustained numerous dents both major and minor in the roof, doors, and hood. The attached picture doesn’t show the actual damage but perhaps the drama of the image can help you to understand what these guys at Gerber helped me to come back from.
My claims adjustor recommended this shop, and I readily acquiesced because it was within walking distance of my office. Since the insurance company was covering the costs, the dollar estimate did not interest me, but the time estimate sure did – two to three weeks. Ouch! I had an inspection appointment on a Wednesday evening and they could take my car on the following Monday morning. Ultimately, they hit the estimate square in the middle – two and a half weeks. My main contact had promised to update me by the end of the first week, but I had to ask for an update on Day 8. After that, the guy was in touch every few days. They also apparently have an automated text messaging system, but I wouldn’t trust it. On Day 16, I received a text stating that my car would be ready in ten more days! Oh boy, that was alarming, but before I had a chance to phone and ask «What the hell?» I received a call from a live person stating that my car was ready. That texting system was obviously way off and caused more trouble than it was worth.
So, communication was not the greatest, but okay. Otherwise the people that I dealt with were courteous and helpful. The value was irrelevant to me. So how about the most important aspect, the work itself? Well, my car looked flawless, better than new. I was delighted. In the end, they had had to repair most of the panels and repaint almost all of them, so basically the entire exterior of the car was rehabilitated. They even removed a small ding on a panel that was not damaged by the tree limb. I couldn’t be happier with how she looked. I would definitely recommend this shop for body work. It might take longer than you had hoped, but quality work is worth a wait, right?

I went to Gerber Collision & Glass — Glenview /​Lehigh because it was on the State Farms recommended list. In today’s world, it’s rare to see people wanting to stand behind their workmanship. My SUV is only six months old and was rear ended. Choosing an auto body shop is very difficult decision, esp when your unfamiliar about world of body shops. Gerber Glenview on Lehigh did replace the rear bumper with the OEM parts. At first, the after market bumper was rejected because it didn’t fit right. Gerber ordered OEM bumper and still didn’t fit exactly right. However, few minor adjustments, they got it right. I’ve noticed that Gerber is very picky when it comes to choosing the rights parts for the vehicles. They treat and take great care of all of the vehicles in repair shop. I did have to visit Gerber second time around but they got it right. The extraordinary experience about this was that the General Manager Matt’s willingness stand behind the workmanship & the positive attitude towards the workmanship was what impressed me. He wanted to make sure the Name ‘Gerber’ stood for excellence and in my opinion, it does. My SUV came out perfect! Good as NEW. They performed a water and air test to see if water will penetrate the cabin and it passed with flying colors. All of the staff at Gerber will display positive attitude and they will notify you via text message as to what is going on with the vehicles and will not keep in the dark or have you wondering what stage of repair its at. Most of all, Gerber will NOT take short cuts, which is something, I appreciate. Like everyone else, automobile is the second largest investment and you want to take good care of it. I’m very picky and detail about the appearance of cars. If you want hassle free and job well done. Go to Gerber in Glenview. The entire process at Gerber in Glenview on Lehigh was very easy. I will say it again. They did get it right the second time But, Gerber willingness to stand behind their workmanship was excellent. In terms of customers service they are solid. My experience was way above average and «Highly» recommend Gerber Collision & Glass — Glenview /​Lehigh location. Lastly, they provide assistance with rental cars. Now I understand, why Gerber was on State Farms recommended list. A Very Happy Customer. Thank you Gerber!

The time you go ice skating with your pals and you aren’t so skilled and meandering along and your preppy, yet athletic, rich gf Jennifer says «hey Adriane check this out! watch me!» And starts skating backwards to finish in an axle and slams into you so you’re both ice capades road kill?
That was the helpless feeling I experienced when a woman in a luxury car backed into me without looking. I was scared and knew what was KaBOOM was about to happen but couldn’t freeze it and time out of the disastrous situation unlike Zack Morris in SBTB or guy in Butterfly Effect. So crunch in my whip’s drivers side it was.
Thank heavens my co pilot George was in his car seat and it was on my side, and thank you Gerber for making my repairs as efficient as possible. They went the extra mile to check me in & work with the rental company. The gentleman who handled my estimate and repairs was professional and poised. He was very knowledgable. I liked they let me wait with my tiny dog inside while the estimate was being done and had magazines and coffee. Those aren’t huge deals but when I’m stressed and busy matter a lot to me. Nowadays businesses do the bare minimum and I appreciated their caring sincerity.
The only improvements they could make are… Their Internet and fax didn’t work when I set up the appointment which resulted in hours of phone tag, also wifi and fax didn’t work the day of appt which affected insurance billing stress.
But a cool surprise was my repairs were accomplished ahead of schedule.
We can’t control the «perils of Pauline» situations of a hapless horror movie heroine, or when a person splat on ice, or when cars accidentally collide into us– but we can choose a car repair place and for that I recommend Gerber.

I went to five body shops to get an estimate on my car yesterday. The reason why I’m writing a review for Gerber is because, in comparison, they took their time with me. The estimator, Ben, was fabulous. I think he did a thorough job and he was the only one that printed out the details on the spot. The other people told us they would email us, which takes away the opportunity to immediately ask questions. He explained what «R&I» stood for and what it meant, the breakdown between paint and body, and also a supplemental request. For that, the service was great and that is what I expect when I go to a body shop for an estimate. When you get estimates, you are shopping around. Good service factors into that decision.

when i put my ford explorer sport in Gerber Collison body shop. the estimator told me that the repair would take1 week… then two days later they called my mother and told me that my suv is ready. i was amazed that they finished work on my Suv two days. when i picked my suv. wow excellent body work on my suv… recommend to go there if your vehicle need repair after accident or weather related.

Someone hit my car while it was parked in the parking lot, so I was already irritated. Fortunately, the kid left his information with the building manager and agreed to pay for the damages. I went to Gerber, met with the estimator, Hieu, explained the situation, and he basically took it from there.
Very painless procedure. Hieu arranged for my rental car, and arranged for payments with the other party all on my behalf. Tommy was the mechanic who worked on my car and he was phenomenal. He got my car fixed 2 days before it was due, and left my car looking better than I remember.
I also have to give a shout out to the cleaning crew. My car is so clean. I love it. They washed the dashboard, and the interior windows. It makes me so happy to know how seamless this whole procedure was. Thanks a lot, guys!

Got hit by a dump truck a few weeks ago and my poor Jetta was out of commission. I work in insurance so I know the ins and outs of the claims process. I knew the fastest way to get my car back on the road would be to go to a direct repair facility. My insurance company worked with me and found that the Lehigh location could get me in the fastest.
I cannot say enough about how professional and customer-​centric these guys are. They got me in, explained their process to me, and how long the repairs would take. They made sure I was already in a rental so that I wasn’t without transportation. They even offered to tarp up my back window so I could continue to drive my car.
I got a call every few days with updates on the progress, as well as text updates. I was so impressed with this! They assured me every step of the way that my car was in great hands… I LOVE my car, so this was very important to me. The texts weren’t just your form texts either; they were personable and reassuring! Stellar customer service.
My car was done today and they stayed open late so I could get in after work and come and pick it up. They even offer to have you drop off your rental there and they will arrange for whatever rental branch you rented with to come and pick up the car. Staying open late and saving you a trip… Again, very impressed.
Hieu was fantastic. He personally called (as well as another employee) to update me on the progress, and made sure I was educated on every step of the way. Incredibly professional and accommodating. This location clearly makes its customers its #1 priority.
And my car. It looks better than when I purchased it. The work is flawless.
Can’t recommend this place enough. High class service and work. They really go above and beyond. I’m incredibly impressed and will not go anywhere else to have body or glass work done.

I was the recipient of a hit and run. Complete front end replacement. These guys took care of the paperwork and payment with my insurance. They were very responsive and communicated very well through the entire process. They even took it to another Gerber to get the work done faster. All of the repairs were done correctly and faster than scheduled.
I got quote for some minor dings and dents while I was there and the process was painless. They were not pushy at all about getting the work done after I received the quote.

The people at this shop — from the darling receptionist to the guys who fix your car — are fast, nice, helpful and good at what they do. This is probably the best experience I’ve had having my car «fixed» in any way. I didn’t turn the claim into my insurance company (can’t remember exactly what it’s called, but they replaced the thing around the tire well that had come off) and I thought they were very reasonable — their estimate was fast and accurate. The work done was even faster — I was there less than 30 minutes! Highly recommend!
