If you are looking for a shop that knows the Audi B5 S4 platform (or any late model Audi for that matter), look no further. Jason is a guru who truly knows what he’s doing. I brought him my pretty heavily modded S4 without disclosing a whole lot of the car’s history and, within a couple hours Jason had not only diagnosed the suspension issue I originally brought it in for, he had figured out the ins and outs of the car, gave me a laundry list of other maintenance issues that should be addressed (most of them I was already aware of and could confirm Jason’s diagnosis — he even caught things other shops didn’t), and he even clued me in to some untapped potential of my car due to overly conservative software.
Jason spent time talking me through every single step of his thought process and he charged me quite a bit less than he should have for both parts and labor. In short, both the customer service and the actual automotive service were beyond compare and the price was on the low end — I can’t wait to take Jason up on his suggested upgrades on my S4.
Jason has an attention to detail most reserve for their own cars. Mobile One is my shop from now on, full stop.

Jason knows his VWs/​Audis. I took my car there for an issue that the dealer quoted 3x higher and Jason was able to fix it without costly part replacements. I strongly recommend these guys if you are in the northern burbs and want a high quality alternative to the dealerships.

Jason is a good egg. He is a master craftsman who really knows foreign cars. I bring my VW Golf TDI into him for everything-​even new tires! He is a great conversationalist and is a perfectionist when it comes to his trade. Exactly what you want in a mechanic! He is fair, with respect to recommendations and pricing and he will never sell you on garbage services that stealerships have convinced me to purchase– like injector cleaner service and other nonsense. I’m glad I’ve done my research to get to know my car better and I’m happy to take it in to Jason, who actually gives a **** about his customers. My last visit was great. I swapped out some crappy Conti tires I didn’t like for some new Pirelli P7s– didn’t even know he offered that. The pricing was fair and he didn’t talk me into an alignment, I actually didn’t even need. The tires are great and the ride is now fantastic. These tires are way better for city driving. Needed some work done on my 2010 Infiniti G37xS sedan. Since my usual guys moved to a new location that isn’t convenient anymore, the search began for another local shop. While they are specialists with German cars, I woudn’t (and didn’t) hesitate to take my car to them after a friend’s recommendation and much research on my own. Jason put up with all my questions and concerns, and all the work was done in a timely fashion at a reasonable price, with no surprises. Hallelujah!

I can honestly say, i would not take my car anywhere else besides here. Not only did he take my car in last minute on a busy week, he fixed it pretty quickly. Jason is one of the smartest mechanics I have ever met. I learned so many things about my car just being around him for few minutes. My car had a faulty ABS module and he went above and beyond to make sure everything is done the right way. When i got my car back i actually felt like i invested money into it instead of just feeling like i threw money away on some broken part. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending my friends to do the same.

I went to my local Audi dealership for years and overpaid for maintenance. At Mobile One, Jason will tell it to you straight and he won’t charge you unnecessarily. He’ll let you know all the different price options and the pros or cons of each choice. This place has top quality service for a better price than the dealership. You’ll be happy you found Mobile One.

Got an oil change and Unitronic tune done for my MK6 GTI. Jason was easy to talk to and get a hold of. For those not familiar with tuning a MK6 GTI, the ECU has to be pulled, opened, messed around with, then sealed back up to protect it from the elements. So picking the right shop to do it is important. Otherwise it’s a $ 1,000+ burden.
Pricing is fair, their reputation in the VW community is great, couldn’t be happier with the results! Will be coming back for out of warranty work on both of our VWs and possibly/​hopefully some more upgrades to my GTI.
Only reason for 4 stars, not open on Saturday’s. So making trips to this shop would require time off work, which doesn’t bug me too much. But somewhat of an inconvenience I’m willing to deal with, to go back there.

I logged on to my Unilocal account that I rarely use just so I could post a review of Mobile One. I’ve had several negative experiences with dealerships and other mechanics, but Jason at Mobile One is fair, honest, prompt, and competent — all nonnegotiable qualities when looking for a car mechanic. I have a 2004 Honda Accord, and he was able to quickly order the part he needed and make the repair the same day. His shop is busy, but that only goes to show that people trust his service. He’ll be my go-​to guy for years to come.

Hands down the best mechanic I have ever met. Jason knows his cars, especially VW and Audi. I’ve been going to him for 7 years and would definitely recommend his services to anyone. Tried going to a couple other mechanics because of location convenience and just got screwed with bad work and more problems.
Most people simply do not love their trade how the guys at Mobile one do. Whether it’s basic repair, big projects, or car tuning, Jason and his guys take care of you and your vehicle and do excellent work. They don’t BS you and will tell you exactly what you need… and if you need it.

This place top notch. The work was done on time and at a fair price that was explained up front. They even helped me make choices in OEM parts vs other brands of parts. I brought my six year old golf GTI in for some major repairs and they did a great job, gave me a fair price and didn’t charge for labor on each individual repair just did it as a bulk job which cut down the cost.
Jason was nice guys to work with, would definitely go back.

My daughter’s 2006 A4 just came off warranty so I decided to look beyond the dealer for needed 55k service and brake job. Saw the reviews here and decided to give Jason a try. Was extremely satisfied with the whole process, his knowledge of Audi’s and ability to explain things. Pricing was very reasonable (50% of dealer quotes) and he advised against doing things which he thought weren’t necessary. Went back the next week and got the car chipped/​tuned which took only about 15 minutes while I waited (very nice performance improvement for a stock car). Trading off some of the amenities of the dealer like loaners, pastries, coffee, etc but it’s walk-​able from the north Glenview (Glen) Metra station (¼ mile or so). Highly recommend giving Jason a try.

I’ve been going there every since I got my 05 MINI S. I won’t go on and on but they are a great, fair price kind of place. I’ve had MAJOR work done here (engine swap and head replacement) and they are great about fixing little issues related to the work they do, even if they didn’t really cause the issue to begin with. Hard to explain but basically I’m saying they don’t nickel and dime you.
Only downsides (MINOR) is that they sometimes are busy and can’t get you in and that they don’t have a receptionist so sometimes you may leave a message and have to wait a bit for a callback. I mean honestly, when you think about how hard it is to find a down to earth, knowledgeable mechanic who won’t screw you, you put up with whatever minor inconveniences come along with it.

I don’t think I’m going to meet a more legit mechanic than Jason. Fair to a fault, very straightforward, and excellent at his craft. Very dedicated to customer satisfaction and continually improving his skills and his business.

Ive been taking my car problems here and I live in joliet. Jason knows his stuff. Go here and get your car fixed for a fair price or get raped by other places/​dealerships.

I am very anal about my car and i used to go to a Shop called Dubwerks in Libertyville, and i have had very bad experiences with that place, i dont like dents on my car, scratches and bad work, etc. I’ve tried lots of places and they are all the same (not experienced and careless on what they are doing, treating your car like it’s just a number, not the car that you love) A friend that told me about Mobile One, and I started going there to do everything for my car, even oil changes, these guys are great, they know everything when it comes to cars especially VW/​AUDI. The prices are great too, maybe half the price of what the dealers charge. Jason, the owner of Mobile One is a true artist when it comes to cars. He always answers my questions because he is a car enthusiast himself. I recommend this place to anybody that cares about his/​her car, especially VW/​AUDI

If you want your VW/​Audi/​Porsche/​Lexus/​BMW serviced, bring it here. Jason and the crew at Mobile One know what they are doing. The customer service is very straight forward, no gimmicks they just get it done. They chipped my S4, rebuilt the suspension, and fixed my A/​C system along with oil changes and basic maintenance. They have free wireless while you wait, and usually offer you something to drink. It is a nice place if you want your car fixed the right way with no BS.
I drive here 10 miles to get work done, and have recommended it to anyone I come across with any make or model car. The labor rate per hour is half of what any dealership charges, and the work done is perfect. I would come here over any dealership, any day.

If you have an VW/​Audi, instead of paying 40−50% more per hour at a dealership, bring your car to Mobile One. The work will be at least as good, probably better than the dealership, and that goes doubly so for older cars. Unlike a lot of mechanics, Jason will tell you his straight, honest opinion of what your car needs, and what it will cost you. If he doesn’t know off-​hand, he’ll find out and keep you informed.
I’ve never owned anything besides Japanese cars and live 20 miles away, but I still bring them to Mobile One. A good, independent mechanic that you can trust is worth the drive.

Jason and crew are nerds, like good, studied, don’t know how to lie, we love what we do, kind of nerds. Brilliant at diagnostics; excellent business savvy and client service; always looking for a way for you to save a buck while keeping your car well maintained and safe.
I have recommended them to clients on the North Shore and I recommend them to anyone in the city as well. I live in Lakeview — I’ll either drop the car off and take the Metra home — ten minute walk to station from their place– or wait for fixes in their wait room — tons of mags to read and free wifi.
A dealership mechanic may be more local, sure, but they will charge you $ 40 more per hour and prob rip you off. Take the time to get up to Glenview and work with someone you trust, get in a relationship with them. Mobile One rocks.
