With the talk of snow flurries in the air, I wish I were back in WNY to hit up the snow tube park. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve met people from all over the United States that have the same response when I disclose that I’m from Buffalo, NY. «Isn’t it cold up there?» «Don’t you have 6 months of snow?» «What do you do when it is that cold?» Alas… amongst the many fun snow sports I could talk about for hours, snow tubing is one of the most fun ways to spend a few hours. And unlike skiing, snowboarding or snow shoeing — endurance, strength and skill is not required. Just the tolerance of cold temperatures. And when you live in Buffalo, you just get used to it. Bundle up and let the tow rope pull you and your tube up to the top of the hill(10 – 12 stories high). Think of the big yellow slides at any carnival or summer fair, and that’s what we have here — except they’re made of snow. Sit down, and hope that you double and triple tucked all layers of your clothing. Hang on! Colden Tubing is located next to Kissing Bridge Ski Resort. Parking is ample, and on the weekends, there are usually a few helpful hands to direct patrons to open parking spaces amidst the snowbanks.
