So, fast-​forward many months after the deadline to make this «infraction» legitimate by process service and these highway robbers now foist upon me an «order to show just cause» apparently for why I did not comply with their court order.
Uh, the reason I didn’t comply was because YOUR OWN COURT MAGISTRATE CLERK informed me that I didn’t have to unless a process server handed me papers to such an effect.
Deadline came and went in September. Now it’s March — and this writ of nonsensical double-​bind logic ridiculousness tries in vain to make me liable for the former alleged «citation fee» plus court costs and interest in the interim.
Uh, don’t think so, folks.

Statement in Response to Globe Magistrate Court’s «Order to Show Cause»
Re: Case No. XXXXXXXX
I, like all other victims of the illegitimate unmanned highway cameras in Arizona and elsewhere around the nation, have suffered unwarranted persecution by what amounts to a guerrilla court system aided by inhuman, blind and baseless methods. I have been threatened with confiscatory fees, and now, after a nine month lapse in communication with your court, further threats of «late fees,» suspended license, and even — dare I say it — jail time. All this after your court officer assured me last summer that unless I was served with papers within 90 days from the date of infraction — I need not worry about paying the ticket, and neither that it would affect my driving record at all. In short — that this questionable «citation» would disappear altogether. This confirmed what I had gathered from my research on the subject of traffic camera tickets and their dubious legitimacy as private, third-​party, revenue-​generating mechanisms.
That deadline — September 29, 2012 — came and went without my being served with said papers that would have «legitimized» this infraction. I had maintained from the start what I will say again here for the record — On the day in question, May 29, 2012, I was traveling through Globe on the way to Safford to visit a friend. I had not been through Globe since your armada of speed zone cameras had been installed. Upon seeing each speed zone and camera warning sign, I slowed to the proper speed, and in fact, set my cruise control to the posted speed limit for each and every speed zone all the way through Globe, in order to insure I could not get a ticket. I at no time exceeded the speed limit, throughout my travels through Globe that day. This was made clear in my letter of dispute to your court back in June of 2012. Your office maintains that I was speeding, but I say I couldn’t nor wouldn’t have been.
Apparently now, nine months after my last communications with your court officer, you are now trying to say that that I «filed a motion» with the court, which is erroneous, and that I need to show just cause for not complying with a court order. What court order? You mean the initial third-​part-​issued «citation»? I have never acted as an attorney nor filed any motion with your court, as I haven’t had the need to. I received no «court order» from you. My response to your court was a simple letter of dispute which you are now using as some admission of guilt, or because I acknowledged receipt of your third party’s citation «notice,» that somehow, almost a year later, you have new cause to threaten me again with your «pay up or face the consequences,» Banana Republic-​style of justice.
How is it that I was able to renew my vehicle registration in January? If your new Order were to have any weight at all, I should have been made aware of it then. Why have my insurance company and the AZ Motor Vehicle Department still not heard of this supposed infraction which I am now being named as a defendant regarding, as if I were some criminal? How is it that I was led by your court officer to believe one scenario, then months later told the opposite — that this camera citation still, according to you, carries some legitimacy, and with an immediate time frame and threats to pocketbook, driving record, and personal freedom, suddenly? Why is jail time for an improperly issued traffic ticket even mentioned in your Order to Show Cause? This is guerilla law at work.
The only thing I admit to is that you have video of me driving my car — safely, in adherence to the posted speed limits. That’s all you have. There was no infraction committed by me that day. The crime here, is governing bodies across our land out of control and hungry for revenue, and which are baselessly hijacking motorists’ pocketbooks and peace of mind — yanking them around with up and down speed zones, devices outside the letter of the law, and this way-​that way threats that amount to completely warrantless persecution. It is my further contention that these camera gauntlets themselves are far more dangerous to public safety than most speeders are.
