Great place to relax and enjoy some good music. Owner is very nice and the prices are very reasonable.

Really nice to have a winery close. They use grapes grown in RI to make their wines. I love the Betty’s Blush. It is yumm Really pretty building. Has a restaurant inside(but I haven’t tried it yet).

I went to the Purple Cat Winery with my daughter for her birthday. We had ‘the tasting’ and we really liked almost all the wines. Considering we use usually only like white wines we were pleasantly surprised. We were also pleased because the grapes were locally grown. Andy was very pleasant and knowledgeable. My favorite wine was the Betty Blush. The food from Philanthropy was excellent also. Overall an wonderful experience.

I came to the Purple Cat during the shopping by candlelight event in Chepachet. I stopped in here for a wine tasting and let me tell you, we had so much fun doing it that we spent the entire night here and didn’t even go to any of the other participating places! Our bartender was new and was so patient, funny and personable. I think it was $ 10 for a tasting? That’s not bad at all! And I got a souvenir Purple Cat wine glass as well. They do an excellent job describing each wine to you. I only wish that the whole bottles they sell were a little less expensive because the wine is so good! Also, their sangria slushies are DELICIOUS. I will be back!

This is an enormous old barn with lots of seating. Went with a group of 6 on a Monday night around 6pm, we were basically the only ones there which was perfect! They have a large bar for the tastings and you can buy a Groupon for a discount and it offers a free soveneir glass(stemless, wine glass, or champagne glass). We sampled all of the wines and I am more of a dry red fan but several of their whites were great. We also had their version of champagne, it was sweeter than a regular champagne and quite enjoyable. Several ordered some of their wine slushies by the glass and we got 3 bottles of wine to split and drink there.(Go to wicked they have half price gift cards to buy these). The bottles are $ 22 each which I think is a little steep compared to other wineries but with the gift cards it was a great deal. They had a great food area that is owned seperately but they have crepes, paninis, and wraps along with your favorite fried foods. We got the fire fries which were crunchy fries topped with siracha. Also, the mac and cheese bites were great! If you are looking to spend a few hours socializing with friends over a relaxed environment, I would definately go here. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Decent wine. Mostly sweet(classic to RI). They offer a lot more than just tastings. It’s worth checking out on a weekend afternoon.

I am so disappointed by my experience at the Purple Cat Winery! I really wanted to love it but I cannot say that my experience Saturday night was even remotely satisfactory. My husband and I as well as another couple headed there around 7pm on a Saturday, we entered the Purple Cat and immediately I loved the décor and overall feeling of the place. It was super cute and had all different areas for people to hang out and enjoy their wine. We headed to the back area where you could sample the wine. It was 10 $ a person to sample 7 wines and take home a souvenir glass. The wine samples were ok, but for 10 $ you can’t expect a lot. I would rather the price be 20 $ and receive a little more wine so you can have more than one teeny sip. The wine selection was great 3 whites, 3 reds, and one blush, all of the wines were good. I cannot say I hated any of them! I tried the TROLLEYCAR blend and fell in love! It was absolutely fantastic… After we sampled the wine we purchased 4 glasses of wine to hang out and 2 bottles to take home. So when all was said and done for the 4 tastings, 4 glasses of wine, and 2 bottles, it was slightly over 100 $(NOTBAD) Well this is where everything went south… The four of us sat on a couch in an lounging area of the facility. This is where we watched an employee drag a women into the facility who was extremely INTOXICATED. I mean this woman couldn’t even walk. I am not sure if she was related to an employee there but that was the way it seemed. I was totally put off by that because if I wanted to watch super drunk people I would go to the local watering hole. At one point if got up from my seat to go get a napkin, when I sat back down there was a syringe topper that I found wedged in the cushion of the chair I was sitting on. Needless to say after that I was ready to go! We also saw cigarettes butts in bowls on the tables where we were sitting. It just was gross and I can say I probably will never go back, which is a real shame because I would have loved to take other friends there for wine since it is SOGOOD! Oh well.

What a pleasant surprise The Purple cat Vineyard & Winery was! Saw an ad for this place and decided to adventure down to Chepachet and see what this place was all about. They opened in late December in the renovated building of the Purple Cat. The art and woodwork in the place is gorgeous. There are a variety of couches and tables around the place for you to sit back and relax. Now onto the wine tasting. For $ 10 you get to taste 7 of their wines and receive a collector’s glass as well. The wines were wonderful and it was great listening to the owner talk about them, we ended up buying a few bottles. Along with the wine bar, there is a coffee shop that serves coffee(obviously), tea, crepes, and sandwiches. We tried one the crepes and it was fantastic. They have live music during the afternoon on weekends. All and all worth the trip! Try some wine, you can even enjoy a glass… or bottle while listening to some live music and eating some crepes!

My wife and I were utterly impressed from the moment we walked into the building. The first thing you notice is the live music and the natural acoustics of the wooden structure are perfect to carry the sound throughout the whole place. As we walked around we quickly found the bar setup where the wine tastings are offered. Our server was such a doll and quickly was apologetic for two of the wines that were not available and then quickly talked to us about the first sampling which was a Pinot Grigio. Each of the wines we sampled seem to keep getting better and better, this really is a complement to they way they put together the selection. We’ve been to other wineries in the past that didn’t quite do it as well. In the end we ended up buying a case of our overall favorites and even enjoyed a frozen sangria while listening to the piano player. We are really anxious to go back again soon especially since it is so close to us. Enjoy!

The wines are delicious. Great history behind the building and logo. Had a great time doing the tasting and brought home a bottle. Will be back to get more. Still not available at liquor stores

I adore that there is a winery in lil old Chepachet, especially when it cohabits the same space as my new favorite lunch spot — Philanthropy Coffee & Tea. I order my food and walk across the room to Purple Cat’s bar, and get down to business. There is a 6-wine tasting for $ 5 if you’re not familiar with their product, and they’ll throw in a souvenir glass for an additional $ 3. This is the way to go because let’s face it, who doesn’t want a glass with a cat on it –am I right?!(I love mine!(I picked the etched stemless, BTW) Once you’ve sampled the 6 wines, pick your fave for $ 6.95/glass. I forego typical food pairing suggestions and go for the Vidal Blanc, close my eyes, and imagine it is summer and I’m sipping the smooth vino on my sun-drenched deck instead of dealing with the worst N.E. winter EVAH! Call me an escapist, I dare you not to do the same. It’s perfection. I am a red drinker by nature, but Purple Cat’s whites really took hold of me and changed my outlook. All wines are available for purchase by the glass or bottle, and I hear they’ve added a hard cider to the list. Oh darn, I’ll just have to go back again next week. ;-)
